I have had my kids in many youth sports programs in the Saco/Biddeford area. XL is consistently the most expensive of any my kids have done but has the lowest quality programs. Coaches tend to be young teenagers who seem to be totally overmatched by a small group of kids. Other youth sports programs seem to figure it out but XL can't. They are just way too expensive for what they offer, especially compared to other programs. read more

The current pandemic just further exemplifies XL Sports lack of commitment to cleanliness. Even before this, the Saco facility was filthy. Dirty bathrooms. Dust bunnies floating across the floor and caked in the bottom of the divider net as well as the HVAC vents clogged with dust. Benches with exposed sharp edges. Wads of gum on the gym floor fir weeks. Food spills left for days. And when you complain, you get the same rhetoric "We had a cleaning company but now we are committed to doing it ourselves." And.. the company statement about how they will add sanitizing stations, will do extra cleaning? I saw nothing different- in fact, when commenting on Facebook about it, they deleted my comment. Make up your own mind during this crisis - and after it has passed - when deciding where to workout and spend your money. read more

The facility is pretty good for sports. It's nice that there is an upstairs viewing area that also has snacks and a bar. My issue with this place is that you pay to get in and watch travel team basketball and they don't use any of that money to heat the place. It's COLD. I am also not impressed with the refs. I don't know if the travel team is responsible for the refs or the travel team that plays out of there, but the refs are awful. Really bad. Most the time there's just one and they stay around half court and make bad calls. There is zero consistency in calls. It's hard for kids to learn what is a foul when the refs are all over the place. read more

Bubble Soccer birthday party. Absolutely horrible. $340 and they basically gave us broken bubbles, $5 pizza, and left us with no help minus a horrible bartender who treated us like we were her worst enemy. Do not bother with your birthday parties here. You would be better giving your child the cash. Update: Sent a private message over to Graeme, the manager at XL. He was very upset about the situation and very prompt on his responses. He gave us a partial refund and could have not been more surprised and apologetic. He stressed that this was an unfortunate event and he's only had positive feedback in the past. That goes a long way in our eyes. We will give them another shot in the future if given the opportunity. 1 to 3 stars for the follow up. The customer care after the fact is very rare these days. read more

I love this place as a year round sports op for my boys. Watching their soccer games from the bridge above was an enjoyable experience. Sometimes dual games on both fields could be viewed while sipping a cold brew. Good spot to have for kids in winters. read more

They told us the coed B league was a casual league. however the team we played was far above our skill level and very aggressive and competitive. When we asked to leave the league and give us our money back after the first game, they gave us a very hard time. Still working on getting our money back. What kind of scum won't give people's money back for a service they did not find pleasure in and will no longer participate in. Just appalled. Don't join this gym or their leagues unless your life is so void of worth that you desperately need to relive your glory days of high school varsity sports. read more

Indoor soccer- Not worth the time and money for the kids. Practices are a group training session and "teams" do not have an opportunity to practice playing together. Teams aren't assigned coaches (never seen this in any team sport before). Don't expect a decent uniform either. Extremely disappointed in this program in spite of the adequate facilities. Oh, and Sunday mornings are not good for games on a weekly basis. Conflicts with church. If the schedule was known prior to registering my kids I never would have signed them up. read more
