During the first 2 weeks of the camp my son received behavior reports and I informed the camp once more that he has ADHD and is medicated and attempted to teach them how to handle a child like him. The leader of the camp, Brenda, would complain almost daily about my son and stated they did not offer the services to deal with a child like my son. They made no accommodations to hep my son and only complained out him and suggested during the second week that he take a break and was able to return later in the week. I agreed. They were aware that he was signed up for another week of camp 3 weeks later and could have let me know at that time that Ryan should not return. It would have been disappointing but I wouldn't have been charged the $340 for the camp if they told me then. However, they did not do that and the first day of the third week they told me my son could not return and that their camp did not have accommodations or tools to deal with my son and if I wanted to register him next summer we would have to have a meeting. Brenda was extremely rude throughout this interaction and I emailed her and requested a refund and was told no since it was due to behavior. His behavior is due to a disability that I disclosed. I then asked for her supervisor and was told to contact Tyler. He backed up Brenda and told me I was not eligible for a refund. I reminded that this summer camps need to make an attempt to accommodate a child with disabilities before discharging them per the Maine Human Right Act and this was not done. All I wanted was a refund since they could have done this before I was charged. Neither of us had ever done an escape room before, and we had SO much fun during our first visit that we ended up coming back the very next day to do ANOTHER room! A huge part of what made our experience so memorable was Charlie and Adelyn. They were truly the BEST! Both were incredibly kind, welcoming, funny, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. They patiently answered every single one of our questions without an ounce of judgment, made us feel completely comfortable as first-timers, and knew the ins and outs of every room. Their hospitality and personalities really took an already fantastic experience to another level. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure everyone has an amazing time! As for the escape rooms themselves, they were absolutely fantastic! The rooms were thoughtfully designed, immersive, challenging in all the right ways, and constantly kept us on our toes. There was truly never a dull moment! Whether you're a complete beginner like we were or someone who regularly does escape rooms, there's something here for everyone. What was originally supposed to be just one activity during our vacation ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip, and we have Charlie and Adelyn to thank for that! We will ABSOLUTELY be returning any time we're in Portland. We cannot recommend this place enough, and if you're lucky enough to have Charlie or Adelyn helping you, you're in for a wonderful experience! Thank you both for making our first escape room experience so memorable!

Spoiler free review!…read more My 41st room, we definitely pulled a rabbit out of our hat to get out of this mindbender of a room. Fun physical props and an interesting theme made this room exciting for the time we spent solving and puzzling our way out. A few things that put us off right away though: youre only allowed one clue to make the leaderboard, and they frown upon solving puzzles without all the pieces, something that just kind of happens in other rooms if you've done a few in the past... Anyway, the room was very well put together theoretically. You walk in, are presented with some puzzles, and set on your way. Not unlike other rooms! A fun little experience gets you going, you have a laugh and start to jump into it all. We accidentially skipped a few puzzles- knowing they frowned on it, we stopped and tried to solve the others, but it did feel a bit like they were artificially inflating the difficulty by adding a bunch of puzzles that weren't needed. Some of the technology didn't function as planned (or at all)- some boxes were already open and others could have been avoided entirely if the room was configured slightly differently. A number of groups on the leaderboard touted times of 19-25min remaining, which makes sense thinking of the room now, with a little ingenuity and experience with their line of thinking, you too can nail those times! Worth a try for sure if you're in the area, but go a little farther north to experience the other rooms in the area first if it's your first time! GTFO is worth a visit for sure, but keep an open mind and have a good time. Our group left unsatisfied with our win, but it won't dissuade us from conquering another experience in the future!
