I chose Sofas By Design based on the super reviews. Deborah and staff certainly measured up to the reviews. Deborah was super, nice, professional and worked with me to get exactly what i wanted and even spent a lot of time searching out a very specific material i wanted for pillows. The sectional was manufactured and delivered in a reasonable amount of time and Deborah kept me posted on the status. And her prices are fair. She does tons of other custom stuff besides sofas, and i plan to go back. Just one side note, which shouldn't be perceived as negative--Deborah spends a lot of one-on-one time with each customer, so schedule a time to meet with her. But people do walk in and she is usually there by herself so sometimes you either have to wait until she is done, or share her. So happy to have found this shop. read more

What a great find! I purchased a sleeper sofa from Sofas By Design and the entire experience was fun and easy and the end result is fantastic! They are top notch! I searched high and low for what I wanted and couldn't find just the right thing. We purchased a 3 piece corner sectional sofa. We were able to pick exactly the fabric, pillow style and colors that we had been looking for. She is amazing; a real pro and an outstanding decorator! Check out her store in San Clemente and you'll see what I mean! The showroom downstairs is truly inspiring! All of her staff are courteous, helpful and knowledgeable as well. The sectional I ordered came sooner than expected and was delivered by two incredibly strong and resourceful men. (They had to bring the sectional up 3 stories through a side window!) In addition to the men, Deborah always sends a representative from the store to oversee the delivery and make sure everything is set up properly, an exceptionally nice service! The sectional is beautiful, comfortable, extremely well made, and everything I had hoped for. I'll never go to a department store to purchase a couch again! My only problem now is the sectional is so nice, I feel like I need to redecorate the entire room to go with it! I may be visiting her showroom again in the near future. I had looked on line, gone to many big box and custom small boutique sofa places before arriving locally at sofas by design. I couldn't have been MORE THRILLED with their service, design knowledge and helpfulness in picking out fabric for my new sofa and decorator pillows to complement it as well. My family room is on the smaller side so I needed something's custom made to fit but didnt want to spend a fortune. Deborah, the owner came to my home and did a custom measurement and took a look at my Decor which made it super easy to follow her back to the shop and pick out sofa fabric and pillows at that time. I brought in a piece of my floor tile as a sample, paint swatches from my walls and we had fun picking out the perfect fabric. I upgraded to trillium back cushions for a firmer feel than down and got a washable slipcovered sectional I am in love with. Colleen, Deborah's daughter and Ron the deliver man, made it a GREAT experience. Highly recommend this local San Clemente shop. Couch came as promised in 4 weeks. You won't be sorry.
