I'm writing this again because yelp place my first review in the "other" section. I will continue to repost this every time Yelp does this. Our family will never shop at Sofa City again. My wife and daughter went to Sofa City in early December '22 to purchase a sectional. They ended up finding one that met the criteria. I even picked it up that night without issue. We even purchased the extended warranty because the salesman showed them on the paperwork where it clearly states it covers pet damage. My wife mentioned we had an aging dog and holding her bladder may become an issue. The salesman said to not worry and circled the phone number on the paperwork and even drew a line to show my wife what is covered, and sure enough, number six on the list is pet damage. No worries, right? Well, fast forward to about a month ago. After some time, but still within the warranty period, a pet peed on a blanket, soaking it, and going through to the flat cushion where you sit. Before anyone knew what happened, the power recliner was set back to upright, getting pee on the cushion against the butt and lower back areas. After realizing what happened, I reminded them we have an extended warranty that covers pet damage, or so we thought. I mean, when a pet pees on a couch, I consider that damage. Man, was I wrong. The company providing coverage said that they don't cover urine smells, only stains to the top layer. We weren't concerned about a stain. It was practically clear pee. It was the inner layers and cushioning. Which again, we found out is not considered covered pet damage. WTHeck?!!! Then I called the store to ask if there was anything they could do to help us out. After all, we spent well over $2000 there. I even asked the store manager if he could simply refund the cost of the useless warranty and have our sectional piece fixed. It would have cost them about $179. He stated that's not how things work. He actually said that. Then I told him I'll put this dilemma on social media and he scoffed at me and told me to do it if I have to. Maybe not in those exact words, but, that's what I'm doing. I feel these people are completely incompetent to be in retail / customer service. My family's problem was of no concern to them. Never will I shop there! Hope you don't either. read more

I've been going back and forth with the company about a problem with the middle seat tray coming down when sitting on the outside seat because of the weight pressing against the buttons. My little dog was almost crushed by the time I found the buttons. What of it were a child or baby? Their reply was "Don't sit so close to the center seat!" and brushed me off by saying I can contact manufacturer. The furniture is just over 3 months old. Very dissatisfied! read more

Extremely disappointed. It was 4:45pm & I checked their hours prior to leaving to see that they close at 6pm on Sundays, so I headed that way. I drove 25 minutes across town in hopes to find a dresser set for our new home to discover their doors were locked at 5:10pm. My partner and I had purchased a sectional here a few years ago and still love it, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. Husband and I decided it was time to upgrade our living room furniture and decided to check out what Sofa City had to offer. We've dealt with Ashley Furniture in the past and had bad experiences so Sofa City was our first location. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by several employees, but we gravitated to the closest one who was Roy. Roy was extremely knowledgeable with what they had to offer for what we had in mind, he was not pushy and just a downright personable kind of guy. The whole experience was so pleasant and husband and I actually had a whole lot of fun shopping at Sofa City. For the past several years we always gravitated towards brown sectionals and knew we wanted something different so we started with recliners. We found two beautiful recliners and the absolute crazy thing was when we came across our new couch we observed that it was an exact match(material/color) to our recliners. So at the end of the day we ended up buying two recliners, a couch, ottoman, oversized chair, a table, couch pillows and an area rug. Roy Definitely made it a pleasurable experience and the store manager Steve was right there making sure everything went smooth. I came in looking for a sofa, headboard, nightstands and kitchen table. I know it's called sofa city, but they do sell all of these products. Unfortunately their selection of everything is a bit limited, and the store must be under renovation I think as the inside was in a fair mount of disarray. Their prices were okay on most of their stuff, and we were able to find a nice kitchen table that they did have in stock at a reasonable price, but no luck on the rest of the things we were searching for. If they cleaned up the appearance of the store it would go a long way for their reputation I think, it as it gives the impression of walking through a used/discount furniture store. read more

Got the tv stand home after driving almost 2 hours to purchase it and after we got it unwrapped we noticed the two deep gashes on the top. we tried contacting sofa city through facebook messenger and business phone multiple times. Finally we reached them and they said they'd give us a 20$ refund and send us a marker. We tried explaining to them that it was a gash and a marker would not help. The manager proceeded to argue with us and told us they repair furniture that way all the time ( so check yours thoroughly you may be getting damaged goods).. during the conversation the call was dropped. Sofa City does not stand behind their products. I bought a reclining couch about 10 months later one side of the recliner sofa was not matching up. I called Sofa City to let them know. Which the person I talked to acting like I was putting the out for them to help me. I had to first send Pictures which I did. Then they tell me that I will have to have a service tech come out. And pay 45.00. It took 4 weeks for them to come out. All service tech did was look at it and say he could order a part to see if that will fix. And he charged me 45.00. Now it is 3 weeks later I called Sofa City to let them know I still have not heard from the service company about the part. Sofa City could not even take the time to make a phone call to let me and information. Now a week later still no service tech and not contact from Sofa city I will NEVER shop at Sofa City again! read more

Very poor customer service. I bought a couch back in Jan of 2020 and bought an extended warranty. When doing so I was told at any point in time I was to contact the warranty company if I had any issues. I did so back in December of 2020. After not hearing anything back I called the store. They got me in touch with the warranty company and come to find out the warranty is not what I signed up for and my claim would need to go through the store. The store then told me that it was my fault I was adivised wrong and the Store Manager Steve continually told me I was wrong on what his sales man told me and that they do not say for the customers to only contact the warranty company. I reminded him that I was only going off of what I was told and that if that was wrong I did not know. He was very rude and acted like as a customer I was at fault for their bad product. I would not shop here nor would I trust any warranty that they may have. Update:Steve called me back and said that the best they could do was $500 in store credit. While this is something my couch is destroyed due to being a poor product and it cost over $1200 originally. Update: Steve the store manager called me back and demanded I take down my review. He was very hateful and told me to either take my review down or else he was taking the in store credit away. He acted like he had really done me a solid by getting me the $500 instore credit, when that would not buy a new couch or even fix the one I have. I told him it was not coming down and he got even more disrespectful and kept saying that I better take down my review. I felt threatened and bullied. I told him it was not coming down and I would let everyone know how he has treated me and how poor his customer service has been. He has called me three times now and has had horrible customer service each time. I would not reccomend buying any furniture from here!!!! read more
