Check-in was quick and easy, and our room was ready right when we arrived, which was a huge plus. They have a nice bar/lounge area that's perfect for winding down, and breakfast is available as well, which makes mornings easy. The location is also a highlight, it's within walking distance to a cute little strip of restaurants, so there are some great options nearby without needing to drive. Only downside is that parking is VERY limited at the hotel, but there is a nearby garage that makes it manageable. Overall, a solid, convenient stay and I'd definitely consider coming back!

Service is lovely, but if you're booking on the app, the charge doesn't go through until you arrive. Very clean place, but parking is very limited as it shares a lot with another hotel. I believe they validate parking in the garage across the street, but call to double check. It's a quick car or train ride into the city, which is nice- but there's so much to do in walking distance from the hotel. Malden center is also pretty close with tons to do. I definitely recommend if staying in the area.

Spacious, Quiet, and Great for Longer Stays Near Boston…read more The Homewood Suites in Arlington, MA was a solid home base for a week-long stay -- especially if you're looking for extra space, a quieter vibe, and easy access to Cambridge or Boston without staying right in the middle of the city. What I liked: Rooms are large and well-equipped, with full kitchens, a sitting area, and a work desk. It feels more like a small apartment than a standard hotel room, which is great for longer stays or families. Clean and well-maintained, from the lobby to the hallways to the room itself. Housekeeping was consistent and unobtrusive. Free breakfast is a nice bonus -- nothing fancy, but fresh, well-stocked, and a good way to start the day. Location is surprisingly convenient -- close to Alewife station, near Tufts University, and just a quick drive or bus ride into Cambridge. You're also surrounded by local restaurants, markets, and even the Minuteman Bikeway if you're feeling outdoorsy. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially at check-in and when arranging late checkout. Why it's not quite 5 stars: Parking is limited and tight -- they have a garage, but it can fill up quickly, and navigating it requires some patience. The vibe is more practical than polished -- this isn't luxury, and it's not trying to be. The furniture and fixtures are functional but a bit dated. No bar or restaurant on-site, which is fine if you're self-sufficient, but worth noting if you were hoping to grab a drink or snack in the evening. Bottom line: If you're looking for clean, quiet comfort near Boston -- or visiting nearby Tufts University -- this Homewood Suites is a great choice. It's not flashy, but it's reliable, spacious, and thoughtfully run. Ideal for extended stays, families, or business travelers who want room to breathe.

However this is something that should have been caught by housekeepers if they tended to the room before guest checkin. The hotel appeared to be undergoing renovations in October 2023 during my stay. Our visit to this hotel was part of a birthday jubilee celebration and it did not disappoint. I…read morelove modern decor and have an weird affinity for straight lines and square objects. The modern industrial design offers every imaginable configuration of such. The lobby is open and airy and the front desk staff were professional but not sugary. The rooms are clean and spacious and the beds comfortable enough. The bathroom configuration is a little odd with a barnyard door that didn't fully close all the way at times. It could be awkward in certain circumstances. The pool access is through the gym and both looked clean. The complimentary pantry was a little hard to find - probably intentional, and was mehh. Parking - You can drop off your fellow travelers and luggage at the front entrance, but it is a limited space which is kind of designed to get you to valet park or at least have to use the door-person or bell-person for assistance. Parking was easy enough. Most days, we opted for on-street parking and just had to remember to move the car. Much better than paying $50/ night for the hotel parking. You couldn't ask for a better location - close to the orange line of the T which runs into Boston and smack in the middle of restaurants, entertainment and retail. And, pickle ball courts are right across the street - what more could you ask for?

The front desk staff was not welcoming, and unfortunately that set the tone for the rest of my visit. The room itself was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable. The rooms are fairly standard in size, surrounded by other buildings with no meaningful view, and street noise is noticeable throughout the night. There is also a nearby train that woke me much earlier than I had planned after a long day of travel. Because my work meetings changed, I needed to extend my stay by one night. I was told the hotel had no availability, so I decided it made more sense to shorten my reservation and move to another hotel rather than relocate after just two nights. Despite this, the hotel charged me for the second night and refused to waive the cancellation fee. Even after Marriott Bonvoy contacted the property on my behalf, management declined to make an exception. Those small gestures of customer service are what build loyalty, and this was a missed opportunity. As someone who travels for work frequently with scheduling changes, that's a dealbreaker. Also as a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member who is typically Titanium or Ambassador Elite, I pay close attention to elite benefits. This property offers no complimentary elite breakfast and no concierge lounge. For a hotel charging over $300 per night before taxes, plus a $25 destination amenity fee and $58 per night for valet parking, I expected a much higher level of service. I stayed at this hotel several years ago and had a wonderful experience, which is why I returned. Unfortunately, the quality of customer service has declined considerably. My interaction was primarily with Logan at the front desk, who informed me that managers Beth Osborne and Christopher Elysee agreed with the decision not to waive the charge. The location is also something to consider. While technically convenient to Somerville, it is well outside the main Boston attractions. Between expensive parking and Uber costs, staying here can become significantly more expensive than choosing a hotel within walking distance of downtown. Ultimately, my biggest disappointment wasn't the room or the fees--it was the lack of hospitality. Customer service is what keeps guests coming back, and unfortunately this stay convinced me that I won't return.

The door to the bathroom does need to he fully open and not halfway because nearby room doors closing does rattle it. And it is easy to hear footsteps above you. We had our breakfast included (not sure if we had actually paid when booking) but we were given vouchers to use daily. It is a sit down and they provide either a European buffet or entree order options (omelette, waffle and another item I can't quite recall). The buffet does order also a complimentary option of scrambled eggs or an open face sandwich with egg, prosciutto, cheese and arugula which was actually quite good. The buffet options are kind of limited - oranges and apples, oatmeal, some cereal, small muffins and fruit and juices. Staff was always very friendly and we didn't have any issues.

The AC Hotel Boston Cambridge is an excellent choice for people traveling to Boston, particularly…read morethose in town to visit universities in the Cambridge area. It sits within an office park sort of area just off the highway (we didn't hear any noise from that in our room), with a nearby parking garage. The hotel is clean, and it offers a restaurant for a European-style breakfast buffet (we didn't partake in that, but it looked fine) as well as a bar. There's a fitness center as well as an indoor pool, which we used once (the water was a bit cooler than we would have liked, but it was fine). The lobby has hot coffee and tea in the morning, which changes to fruit-infused water in the afternoon and evening. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. I didn't partake at the bar, but I overheard many interactions while working nearby and the staff there seemed very friendly as well. The room we had included a King bed and a sofa bed, a desk area, a refrigerator... one thing missing was a stand to put your luggage on, but that's likely because there really wouldn't have been any space for it since there wasn't any large amount of open space. It wasn't a big deal, ultimately, and we thought the room was nice. The biggest benefit here, though, was the convenience related to Boston's mass transit system. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the Alewife Station, which sits at the end of the red line. The red line has stops along the way for several different universities in Cambridge, so for our campus tours it was incredibly straightforward to get to the campuses. The red line goes straight into the heart of Boston as well: we visited the downtown area twice, both times just jumping one stop over to the orange line to get to things like Quincy Market, the farmer's market and the Freedom Trail. One thing to note is that there aren't really any convenient food options that don't require driving, and the design of the roadways in the vicinity require a bit of looping around to get back and forth. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it's something worth noting. Overall, I think this is a great hotel for people visiting the area who don't want to pay through the nose for a hotel in the actual downtown areas. It's convenient, it's reasonably priced, and it's a comfortable stay. I've already recommended to friends and family visiting in the next few months.

I'm just happy to have gotten to stay here. C booked it for our first night in Boston. I had no idea what to expect, or where in the world we were staying, but was pleasantly surprised by the digs when we got there. We do some unique traveling. Mainly in the way that we actually take trips. We leave town with only the first night stay booked and wing it from there. We do this for spontaneity, to always keep things fresh and new, and to avoid losing money in some cases because of flight delays or changed plans. This last trip was a nine day haul around the Northeast Coast. This one was great and I have lots to share, so buckle up! ;) Night one: Excellent check in. Easy valet experience as you can just leave your vehicle on the curb and they come get it later at some point. Martha Stewart's flunky designed the place, but don't hold that against them. It's quite comfy and cozy. I loved the room accommodations. The glass box overlooking the busy Cambridge City street is really cool. The windows even open so that you can get some fresh air in the room or even purge some "compromised" room air out if needed. I wanted to sleep with the window open but the city was too loud for me to endure while sleeping. Shower is nice but all of the bars are deceiving. I thought that we may have a multiple shower head experience, it was only a dual head junt.... All of the bars are just to let the things slide around. It's nice though. It's a bit quirky with only one ice machine in the basement and none on each floor. But down in the basement is a plethora of oddities and things to look at. There is a great conference room that you can rent and shit yourself in if you want. They have a good coffee maker down there too. No free breakfast. That's ok though. Come have a stay. You won't be left disappointed I believe. Staff were super courteous to us. We left something in the car after we valet, and they went and retrieved it for us with no gripes at all.
