I couldn't have been there for more than a minute or two when a security guard pulled up behind my vehicle. I initially thought he was a police officer because of the lights on his vehicle, but I realized he was a security guard. Without getting out of his vehicle, he used his loudspeaker to announce that I was on private property and needed to move. I have no problem with a security guard informing me that the property is private or asking me to move. My issue was with how the situation was handled. This was his very first interaction with me. Instead of getting out of his vehicle, approaching my window, and simply speaking with me professionally, he immediately used the loudspeaker, which I felt unnecessarily drew attention to the situation and made the encounter more confrontational than it needed to be. Had he simply told me that this was private property and that I needed to move along, I would have done so without any issue. After that interaction over the loudspeaker, the guard moved his vehicle and continued on. Within about 30 seconds, I moved my vehicle from where I had been parked and drove around the area to locate him because I wanted to document the encounter by getting a photograph of him and his security vehicle. When I found him, I took a photograph. He saw me taking the picture and apparently wasn't happy about it. He told me that he had gotten a photograph of me as well, and I also heard what I believed was him calling me an "asshole." After that interaction, I left. As someone who has worked in security for several years myself, I found the way this was handled unprofessional. I've always been taught that professionalism, communication, and de-escalation should come first whenever circumstances allow. I understand that security officers have a job to do and that private-property rules need to be enforced. My issue isn't that he told me I was on private property or that I needed to move. My issue is how he chose to communicate with me from the very beginning and how he conducted himself afterward. There was no reason this needed to become confrontational. A simple, professional conversation would have accomplished exactly the same thing. Based on my experience, I found the guard's conduct unnecessarily confrontational and unprofessional.

And I only planned to have cameras installed after some work that was scheduled to be done on my new house. Eyal spent an hour on FaceTime as I showed him around the house to discuss the number and location of cameras needed. The house seemed untouched when it was filled with staging furniture for weeks. Stagers removed the furniture over the past weekend. Upon my visit at the house on Monday, I noticed the patio door of the ground-floor master bedroom was unlocked. I then saw there was water all over the master bathroom floor, the toilet seat was up, the shower door was wide open, residual water inside the bathtub basin, AND there was a lighter on the bathroom counter. Moments later as I was measuring the room, I noticed a partial footprint on the window sill and dirt smear on the side wall of the window. Of course, I called Eyal immediately.
