She always listens to what I want and answers all my questions. Amelia has also trimmed my bangs before on short notice because I was dangerously close to cutting them myself once. And that would've been a disaster. I've never had an issue here but if I did, I know they would fix it. They always put their clients first. I truly enjoyed coming to this salon over the past several visits .. I've had around 8 blowouts here and a haircut, and every experience has been positive. That's why this recent situation caught me off guard and honestly left me feeling disappointed. I received a text message that my upcoming haircut appointment is being canceled because I install my own hair extensions that were not purchased through the salon. I want to express this respectfully, but also honestly this feels unfair, and the reasoning behind it comes across as both unprofessional and unnecessarily controlling. First, refusing to provide a basic service due to a personal choice about where I source or install my extensions doesn't align with standard client care. It blurs the line between a salon setting reasonable service boundaries and restricting client autonomy in a way that feels inappropriate. Second, as a returning client who has consistently supported the salon through multiple appointments, being denied a service I have previously received without issue feels dismissive. It also comes across as being rooted more in controlling the client relationship and ensuring revenue through product or service exclusivity, rather than focusing on providing quality care. I understand salons want to stand behind the work and products they offer, clients should still have the freedom to make independent choices without feeling penalized or excluded from unrelated services. Don't come here if you want answers. Ruby scheduled my daughter for a consult only, when we were told they would test the hair for vitality and then proceed with color if appropriate. The consult consists of them cutting a portion of hair, sending you away, testing the hair with bleach, then calling with results. No one told us the hair would be cut to do a test! Only, the receptionist calls with the results and is not allowed to answer questions, and the stylists are NOT ALLOWED to take phone calls, only managers. So after calling back a couple of hours later with a few questions, no one would answer so I showed up and the receptionist told me that the stylist was gone for the day, and that she was told that they already called me back. I asked for the manager because I called 5 times just hours after the consult and no one called me back. The manager, Katee (front desk and social media manager) came out and explained to me that this is all the policy of the place since they are employees of the salon. I had questions for the stylist, the manager told me there was nothing more they could do, yet the stylist was "not allowed to take calls". So how are you supposed to ask questions when you've had a consult and the consult was done by the stylist who can't talk on the phone? So, just a visit to snip a hair sample and then you're sent away. Not coming here again, I suggest you call to get as many answers as you can before actually scheduling, that is, if they can answer them for you, since they are not stylists. read more

I've been a customer here for years, and given them several chances to improve. Don't get me wrong, the actual hair stylists are fabulous and talented. Unfortunately they are under the thumb of management/the owners who consistently make inane policies and treat their staff and patrons like shit. On top of all of this, the vibe is snobby and the front desk is consistently dismissive. Do better. RESPONSE TO OWNER: The last time I was in your salon, which was a few WEEKS ago, I was happy with my experience with Emilee and did not have any sort of interaction with mentioned front desk. Story time- Back in January I booked with a different salon (not society) for a color correction, long story short, the stylist did not do a color correction, she gave me highlights and expressed that the bleach had damaged my hair to the point where she did not feel comfortable enough to blow dry it out due to the amount of hair clumps falling out. This was two weeks before I was making a life changing move to Texas. My confidence had plummeted. I sobbed the entire car ride and had to pull over into a random parking lot because I could not see due to all the tears. I ended up in the parking lot of Society. WHY I recommend Society I walked into the salon close to closing time in tears and could barely get words out. I just needed a hair stylist to tell me how to save my hair. The receptionist was such a sweet heart, offered me water right away, and Abigail immediately sat me down in a chair. She blow dried my hair, gave me the confidence to stand up for myself and pointers on how to talk to the owner of the other salon about my experience. She gave me the reassurance that my hair was not going to fall out nor was it as damaged as the previous salon made it seem. She gave me a free consultation and booked me in for an appointment two days later. This was not their mistake to fix yet they had so much empathy and kindness to help get my hair closer to my hair goal. They did it again! Awesome job!! I had my faded green blue hair until I got my burnt orange ombré hair. Hazel is great with bleaching out to remove my faded color hair. Getting my hair done by Brittany felt like therapy. After talking about what I wanted to achieve, and showed her some inspo pics from Pinterest of course, she assured me that what I wanted was not only doable, but a very realistic expectation. She quickly set to work and as she snipped away, I could feel a weight off of my shoulders. Literally!! I knew I was in good hands. Brittany gave me exactly what I wanted and didn't know how much I needed. My hair was transformed from a very long tired entanglement into a voluminous, multidimensional, manageable and modern style. My grey "sparkles" were disguised perfectly to my natural shade. She gifted me with facial framing that was so versatile I could easily switch from a middle part, back to my comfortable side part whatever day I please. I was even complimented on my hairline which I've always felt was so weird. She educated me on how to style them to achieve the placement and volume I wanted. TLDR/short version: I spent $500 for my hair to look like it did before I even got it done (dark roots). All I asked for was a full foil to brighten my roots. Long story: I've been blonde for 15 years & get my hair done every 4 months. My regular stylist moved away so I found this place & booked with Jessica. I was told she specializes in blondes (didn't verify this). My natural hair color is dirty blonde/light brown & I had a couple inches of grow-outs when I came in. What I wanted was simple: to bleach my grow-outs so all of my hair was uniform. I scheduled a full-foil to achieve this & showed her an inspiration pic OF ME from about a year ago. This is extremely easy to achieve. Like I said, I've always been blonde. During the appt, she asked if I wanted a sharp foil line or a more blended root. I said that most importantly, I want my roots BRIGHT BLONDE, like the rest of my hair & that I'm not too concerned about a sharp grow-out line but that we could blend it a bit, as needed. She said we should do a root powder. I agreed, so as long as it doesn't look like I still have grow-outs in the end. She also told me the full price for everything would be "high three hundreds, maybe four hundred" (this included a hair cut & gloss too) but somehow we ended up at $455 + $45 tip which is not a big deal as I'm happy to pay a premium price for a premium service. My hair was styled in the end which looked nice but I could see that my roots still looked dark. I assumed it was the cool gloss changing the overall hue. I thought I was overthinking it until several people pointed out that my grow-outs are still very dark & that I should go back in. I washed it twice to see if some of the root powder would fade & it did not. Then after a week, I finally reached out to the salon & was told I was outside of the timeframe for a "re-do" which I believe is 7 days, yet I reached out on the 9th day. I explained that I am not asking for a re-do, but just a few foils to brighten up my root line. I was absolutely not asking for another full foil or partial foil. My request was exceptionally reasonable & they declined, but offered me an undisclosed discount off a future service. It is shocking how dark my roots are after my $500 lightening service & even more shocking that I couldn't get a handful of foils to brighten the frame around my face & somewhat fix the issue. Ultimately, she should have never done a root powder after I explained that I wanted bright roots. Maybe I should have researched more about a root powder before I let her do it. But it still falls on the stylist for even suggesting it, when I was clear about what I wanted, which was the exact opposite of dark roots. I posted 2 photos of the final product and 1 photo of my hair from a different stylist to show what it should have looked like. I am so disappointed & sick about spending $500 on this. read more

Just came in for an appointment and was dropped as a client for "too many" last minute cancellations. I have only ever cancelled within 24 hours once and I always make my next appointment. I love Bradley, she is great! But, I highly recommend seeking somewhere else! RESPONSE TO OWNER I never had a no show. Any "cancellation" was rescheduled. There was never any verbal notice that this action would be taken if I were to have another late cancellation. A friend recommended this salon and since her hair was so nice I decided to try it out. Since I haven't found a salon since moving to the PNW. I checked reviews and images of clients hair. Everything looked great, so I scheduled my consult. During the consult I did not receive a friendly introduction and felt very rushed. I got bad vibes after I tried to explain how I wanted my hair the stylist (Jane) said, "So you want what, like a price quote? Get out your phone calculator to add it." Despite my best judgement I booked the appointment since it was only a week out and all her Instagram pictures and reviews online looked great. I should have went with my gut instinct. I had asked for a dark blonde base with highlights, Jane advised I go darker base which I agreed to but, I ended up with copper base and blonde highlights. I started to cry immediately. It was horrible. After trying to blame me for the base being so copper, and me reminding her I agreed to her advise of the darker base so this wouldn't happen she admitted that it lightened more than she thought it would and she offered to darken the base but had to re-foil my hair so the highlights wouldn't get covered. I agreed even though I felt horrible for having her re-do it. I had never had this happen to me in the 11 years I have been getting highlights. It was 8:30pm when she started to fix it and rushed to put the foil, she ended up making the highlights so uneven, thick in spots, thin in some. She left out some of the original ones she had done and covered them with the base since she was in such a hurry. It looks alright (better than copper) but I still hate it and it is nothing near what I wanted. Only reason I gave 2 stars was because she attempted to fix it. I do like the cut though. What a waste of over $200. read more

This review took me a long time to write because it took me a long time to get over it. December 2021 Beth cut my very long hair that I had wanted cut after delivering my second baby. I had grown my hair out and was so excited to have a fresh haircut. I wanted a nice medium bob haircut. My before hair, the inspo pic and my haircut afterwards are all attached. I was honestly in denial at the salon. Beth basically said well if you go short and don't like it it will grow out. That should of been my first red flag. She seemed very rushed with my haircut even though it was very slow. She also didn't seem to listen. She told me this haircut would be awkward and I wouldn't like it. I honestly didn't know what to say to that. She said either go longer or you can go shorter so it won't be awkward. I told her I trusted her and because she had short hair I did trust that she would know short hair best. I was wrong. I came out with the most uneven layers. I was truly so so upset. In fact so upset I reached out to another salon very well known in Seattle and the hairstylist was perplexed at this haircut and how uneven the layers were. She said honestly it was impossible to fix until it grows out. She blended the layers as best she could and as I was getting ready to pay the receptionist at that salon the hair stylist said she wasn't charging me anything cause she truly felt this haircut was not at all a good one and said once it grew back significantly she could help achieve the look I wanted. Beth probably does not even remember me but I remember her even though this haircut was a year old. The lack of attention and skill is truly shocking. Also making comments that my hair will grow back even if I might not like it is not okay. I truly hope this review gives anyone going to her the clarity to be very specific when going to her and speaking up. I didn't have the confidence to speak up and trusted that the hairstylist knew best. I hope the owners give extra training to her. read more

I've been seeing Claire for about a year as her client. I was excited to see her move into a salon! I had all great experiences until my last cut. I had asked for a straight across cut which I thought was pretty simple. I ended up messaging her with a photo of what my hair looked like from the back and she mentioned she wouldn't mind sending me some of my money back for the inconvenience. I ended up going to someone else to fix it and then I asked for a 50% refund as I was trying to be understanding with the fact that the cut also included a shampoo and style. After asking for the money she was offering me she then blocked me. My past hairstylist was moving out of state and I was in a crunch to find a new salon. I was able to get into society, a salon on very short notice. They are taking all precautions for Covid including a survey 24 hours in advance, text check-in, sanitizing upon arrival, and towels over your face during wash. When I arrived at the salon I was taken aback at how cute and modern and spacious the salon is. My stylist for that day was Beth. I really enjoyed her style and she listened to my needs when it came for my hair. My request was a haircut with toner and gloss. I absolutely love my cut I've never had a haircut I have enjoyed more. I saw serval pictures of clients from this salon I loved their hair colors. I finally decided to call about getting an appointment. The person who answered the phone was very quick to turn me away. I do have henna in my hair it was all natural henna no metal salts or whatever, it's been almost two years since my hair has been hennaed. I was told they don't work on hair that's been hennaed so they could not see me. I'm disappointed that this is their policy. I did go to another salon and they did a test strip and scheduled me out after seeing results but I prefer going to a smaller salon rather than a big company like ulta. Since contacting the stylist I have now been blocked. BUT My before and after. My hair was shiny before and now my hair is fried so bad. The orange color that is in the before was from the same person that bleached my hair 10 weeks ago. Yes I asked for blonde but if you couldn't get my hair blonde without frying it let me know. I also have TERRIBLE bleach lines on the side of my head. How will my hair recover from being fried to this extent?? It won't. Never again. read more

Made an appointment after extensively looking through the salon's Instagram pages. And since they were near by I figured why not give it a try. I was long due for a good cut and color anyway. I booked with Jane and I think I've found my new hair dresser! She asked about my hair history and what I liked, what I wanted done, how I normally wear my hair, and came up with a perfect alternative when I realized I was not prepared for the work and maintenance of the color I originally asked for. went in to lighten my hair, I showed Micaela a picture. She explained it would be a process to "save the integrity" of my hair, which I was okay with. But I wasn't expecting to pay 340 for my hair to look exactly the same and not lighter whatsoever. When I expressed to her that it is not what I wanted and it looked identical to before I even came in, she proceeded to argue and not want to fix it to be what I had asked for and went in for. When I asked if she could at least color match my new extensions, she refused because I didn't buy them from her. When I further expressed my disappointment, all the did was ask me if I wanted to cancel my next appointment. Amelia came as a recommendation... and me and my wild head of curls are sure glad. Instead of calling my greys, grey, that are hiding in my hair, she called them sparkles which instantly made me happy. She took those sparkles and blended them into wonderful highlights.
