Where do I even begin?! Anthony Santini was beyond what I expect him to be. First of all, this was my first tattoo. He knew I was extremely nervous and he calmly explained to me how to just relax and breath. I am very thankful for how patient he was with me and how well he was able to explain to me step by step on how the whole tattooing process is. Not only was he able to explain the process of the tattoo but he articulated very well on the caring of the tattoo afterwards and the healing process. He got down to the science of the healing nature!! Anthony is well informed and knows what he's doing. On the pain scale, it was very mild. He has a light hand which made the pain little to none! Society 9 as a whole was very well kept, clean, inviting, and a friendly team overall. They provide complimentary refreshments if needed and they have a really nice TV screen to watch while you're art is in process! My mother is in from out of town and decided that she wanted a tattoo we have been talking about for a while now. With the suggestion of my daughter she said to go to Society 9 Tattoo. Mind you this is a last minute idea and is a Sunday. Looked up Society 9 tattoos and found that they are open on Sunday. We called and asked about walk ins Ryan the owner was very sweet and said they would be happy to get us in. My mother, Aunt, daughter and myself all went in. This place is the cleanest tattoo shop I have been in!!! Huge plus!! The open concept is great makes me feel like they have nothing to hide!! Well we met with Lee who is super nice. He took our designs and made the pieces we each wanted come to life. Lee lines are super clean and precise. Prices are great too! After an hour of combing through social media looking for Ryan, Anthony and Tom and asking myself, "Where had they gone?" I have to say I was more then excited to see they were still altogether at Society 9 Tattoo...I excitedly arrived for my appointment with Anthony...this is where I add that Anthony is my #1 choice for doing my tattoos!!...the shop is clean, warm and welcoming. I instantly felt welcomed and relaxed...Although Anthony is my shop favorite, each and every person in this shop is an incredible artist in their own right and if Anthony was not available to do a tattoo for me...I know that I would get an exceptional tattoo from any of them...so if you are looking to have some work done...you have got to check this shop out...you will not be sorry and you will leave the shop with an unbelievably exceptional piece of art!! read more

All the artists here are amazingly talented and truly care about about their clients. They are always extremely professional and never fail to offer a snack or drink. I have received 2 tattoos by Ryan Smith, both of which turned out AMAZING and went beyond my expectations. I have also received 3 piercings (double navel, 2nd lobe piercings) from Tom. The piercings have healed/are healing perfectly (followed proper care instructions) He has also pierced my mom (nose), sister (nose), and friend (navel). Piercings are centered and done professionally. He uses proper sanitation before, during, and after, each piercing. My sister received a matching elephant tattoo with her friend from Anthony Santini and he also did an amazing job! Wow...I'm shocked by the other review I just read with the one star rating. I'm so sorry you had such a terrible experience. My experience was *very* different. I had my first tattoo done by Anthony. He was amazing! He put me at ease right away and answered every question I had. He was patient with me and kind from the very beginning. He did my first tattoo and I couldn't be happier! It's beautifully done with super crisp lines, beautiful colors and shading...I love it! I had a second tattoo done by Anthony and I plan on going back again for more of them. As for the shop in general, it's clean, non-intimidating, and the staff has always been kind and welcoming. The people at Society 9 Tattoo and Piercing are awesome at what they do and they go the extra mile to make you comfortable and heard. They treat you with the upmost respect. Tomas did my Daith piercings and when I went back to purchase new jewelry after they healed he switched them out at no charge so thats awesome! Other places in town charge you to switch your jewelry out, even when you got your original piercings from them! I havent had the chance to get any ink done there yet but Ive seen people coming and going with some nice tattoo pieces and ive seen the artists work on their clients. Ryan Smith at Society 9 Tattoo was absolutely amazing with my daughter during her first ear piercing experience. She was pretty nervous going in, but Ryan was incredibly patient, professional, and reassuring every step of the way. What really stood out to me was how he made sure to speak directly to her and confirm that she truly wanted the piercings and felt ready. UPDATE: Read the entire complaint. Pictures included. I was in Bakersfield and seen Ryan and Aneka at the Village Grill on 2/24/2020. He never said anything to me whatsoever, then I log into Facebook and see he's been threatening to do shady things to me when he sees me. What kind of threat is that about? This is an ongoing issue with him and he won't stop. He's lied and threatened me physical harm numerous times. All because he was called out on a shady tattoo he did one and added things not approved. His character needs to be exposed. People beware of this person. Hes admitted he would do shady things. Great location right on Rosedale highway, you can't miss it! I really like the interior set up and decor. I've been a loyal client to Tom for almost 3 years now and I trust him with all of my piercings. I've never had an issues or any infections, as long as you're caring for your piercings and cleaning them properly as he tells you to do then you will be fine! I recommend him to everyone and they all love him as well. My friend even got a huge thigh piece done by him and she loves it. Tom has a quick and steady hand so every piercing is very quick and painless. They also run deals occasionally in piercings and tattoos which is awesome read more

I got a tattoo doing on my right leg. Anthony Santini did an amazing job. I have had 2 other tattoos before getting my third one with him. I would recommend getting a tattoo done by Anthony. I consider my tattoo a piece of art because he did an amazing job. The establishment is clean and organized. Anthony Santini is a professional. He keeps his station clean and sanitized. I came here for some tattoos and the people were very easy to talk to and helpful. Unlike a lot of tattoo artists, they acted professionally and made sure I was completely happy with the everything before any needles touched my skin. You'd think every tattoo artist would be like this considering tattoos are PERMANENT but unfortunately I've had some pretty negative experiences with tattoo artists in the past. However, these guys were a perfect example of how tattoo artists SHOULD act towards a customer and the design they want to get. I was referred to Ryan Smith by my best-friend when I was looking for a new Tattoo guy. I really loved my Wind Catcher that he did, so I went back for more, and so far I have 3 amazing tattoos. I really love his style and trust his ideas as well. My nephew passed away in January and after telling Ryan about him, he had amazing ideas and I went with it. This is one of the most welcoming shops I've ever been too, the customer service is awesome! I'm always offered something to drink while waiting and am greeted right when I walk in. They're extremely clean make sure they use sterilized equipment. My tattoos always heal nicely. I've been going to Anthony for all my tattoos and I can't go anyone else. This dude is quick and spot on with his work. Definitely recommend everyone to him and the other artist are really good too I've seen their work! read more

came here to get a double helix piercing &' was very pleased with the results along with the service! also came with a friend who tried to get a dime sized tattoo at a previous tattoo parlor who wouldn't go lower than $80 &' refused to touch up a previous tattoo, when we came here they offered to only charge $40 which was very nice but they both agreed for $60 for both a touch up &' new tattoo! the tattoo came out great as well! highly recommend this place for both tattoos &' piercings! read more

Came to Society 9 for a nose piercing today. All the guys in there were very nice and accommodating! Anthony did my sisters nose piercing and he was the best! He made sure she liked the placement and jewelry before starting and explained the process of the piercing and cleaning very well!! I took my 12 yr old daughter to get her ears pierced. We were welcomed by Anthony when we walked in and we felt very comfortable right away.
