    Live jazz on Sunday evenings
    Cin C.

A lovely space, decorated in a tasteful art-deco style. We dropped by on a Sunday evening for a pre-dinner drink and they had live jazz band there!! It's an intimate dark space, we were transported to a jazz club for a couple hours, even though it was bright outside with the front windows open to the street. A great space to relax with a drink and enjoy the music!! Will be back to try the food.

It's a shame because I preferred drinking on the now-resto side. Service is decent, nothing spectacular, again I found service on the now-resto side previously better than the service we received at the bar side. Again it's a shame cuz the bartenders on the now-resto side were fkin awesome: tailored drinks and personal caring customer service. Whereas the bar side was just typical 'here's your drink you ordered' nothing more nothing less. What I do really like about this place is I tend to like almost every single cocktail I order here. They change the list regularly so that's fun too 'cuz always new options to choose from. It is pricey and unfortunately the alcohol content is maybe not as strong as one might like for that price point. However, it does allow to try many many drinks in one sitting without becoming a total drunken a-hole so not necessarily a bad thing. Here's a list of all the drinks I've tried here so far and I've adored almost every one of them and would definitely order again: - Frank sinatra - Trinidad sour - Paper plane - "Gina And Cucumber" shooters - Bloody Caesar: steak spice rim for this one is awesome - Nina Simmone - Pinky Swear: meh good hit the spot, but probably the most disappointing of all drinkerie drinks ive had - Redwine: Pepperwood Grove Cab Sauv 12$ good but not worth inflated price for a glass - Cidre Dublin's Pub: delicious!!! My favorite cidre ever so far. - Martini Lychee: hit the spot not their forte but I was craving one and it did the trick. It's not a place I choose first, but I like comin here every few months to enjoy a few cocktails in a chill vibe and hope they don't close anytime soon.

I made a dinner reservation and made a note that we would like to sit in the courtyard/garden and that we would be bringing a dog. When we arrived, we were told we could not sit in the courtyard/garden, since we would have to enter the restaurant to access the courtyard/garden, and that dogs are not allowed inside. This was not a big deal, but I wish they could have let me know in advance. The restaurant had a terrasse outside which was dog friendly, and where we were directed to sit instead. Overall, service was good. One of the employees stopped by a few times to offer my dog water, which was very sweet of him. I expected the food at the Burgundy Lion to be mediocre, we didn't particularly come for the food, but for the fact that they are dog friendly. I had a salad, but this was such a well- made salad, and the portions were huge. I enjoyed it immensely. My husband also enjoyed his fish and chips. We split a bottle of Nebbiolo which tasted okay.

You walk in and there's a clothing store on one side and black curtains straight ahead. I just stood there confused for a second until someone suddenly appeared and escorted me through the curtains, down a long dark hallway, and into this intimate, dimly lit bar. Turns out, I had accidentally stumbled into a speakeasy. The space is tiny--maybe 6-8 seats at the bar and a long banquet along the wall for 10-12 more people. No menus either. They ask what you like and don't like, then craft a cocktail specifically for you. The pours are generous and the bar is stocked with top-shelf liquor. About a drink and a half in, I realized I needed actual food immediately and had to leave. The staff was friendly, personable, and chatty, and because the space is so intimate, you naturally end up talking with the people around you. Definitely more of a solo or date-night spot than a group hang. Such a cool, unexpected experience.

Noooo let's not do this again…read more In talkin to my friend about how much me n Pat loved Monkees, Alberto seemed determined to show me another awesome dive bar. This is not the case. If we were to come here for Pub Golf* then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. But otherwise, unless u wana slit ur wrists.. or gamble all ur welfare check away until u wana slit ur wrists: maybe skip this place. *Pub Golf is a game created by my friends which fking kicks a$$, contact me for more details if interested. Waitress/ barmaid was friendly and sweet enuf but let's just agree this place is depressing as sh*t on the whole. 3 bars, 2 of which empty. I would assume: at all times, since we came on a Friday at 8pm. My buddy explained: here in Mtl you can legally have 5 poker/lottery machines for each bar (and I mean the actual bar with booze and stools not the building itself). So you guessed it: 15 poker machines here despite 2 bars in zero service. Ahhh logistics. Fk u Sergakis u know what ur doin sux ballz and I wish u had a bigger philanthropic bone than wallet (and I say that having worked for you many, many times so seriously, fk u.) Now to add to the depression: we arrived on Welfare Check day. (For my American friends thats Canada's way of making sure people don't starve to death in the freezing cold). Oh boy. Out of the 15 lotto machines...14 were occupied. I work in mental health, I'm pretty good at sizing people up without talking to them...I would be willing to bet my life that out of those 14, 11 or 12 MINIMUM were gambling away their welfare checks. My tax money. Your tax money. That we worked fkin hard for, btw. 2 regulars approached me during my visit (both of which definite Welfare recipients) and I interacted as if they were old time friends, but their stories left me sad and weary. I will spare you the details, but again working in mental health I had to resist all urges to pull the nursing card. I needed to get out asap, insisted my friend chug his beer 'cuz there was no way I was having another drink in this depressing hole. Not a fun dive bar by any means. Ghetto and ugly. Definitely avoid. Though the service was nice and the regulars friendly, it was just a sad state of affairs I don't ever want to experience again. Seriously Sergakis: with all the money u have, don't you wana do some good in this city for once instead of being part of this sh*t?! Naïve stupid Kandi. He's been like this since I was 18 and now I'm 35. Yahhh I bet a change is just around the corner..
