Although there are several windows along the counter, there's seldom more than two open. I came to drop off a package, and was thrilled that I was able to use the self serve kiosk, because the customer line was ridiculously long! (But to be fair, it was around the holidays!) These poor postal employees get a bad rap... yes, the line moves slow... but they seemed just as stressed as the folks in line. The struggle is real... but I still say these essential workers are heroes! Personally, I'd rather drive to a less busy post office, with a more quaint feel and do my mailing business elsewhere, but I was in the area and felt like my experience here was rather commonplace!

So I'm in the house giving my girl the side eye like "Who the hell is Jevonte"?!! I'm not sure if there was a mess up at the hospital or vital records but my receipt from the hospital shows all the correct info. After calling vital records and the woman on the phone laughing after explaining what happened she said I had to go to Richmond to get this fixed. We drove to vital records the next day and it was no customers in there. Filled out a form they had on the counter and waited to be called up. The lady that assisted us was extremely helpful and couldnt figure out exactly how that happened. But she was able to see that the person who was on my daughters birth certificate was on anothers.. presumably the correct one. So she corrected it and put my name on there. I was expecting a new one to come in the mail but she was able to print it out right there on the spot which I appreciated. She also suggested that we go to the social security office to make sure the names were correct there. We did go right afterwards and it was messed up there as well. So the service at the actually facility was great but somebody dropped the ball. *kanye shrug*

You go get in line. you get to the front, one hour later, to explain what you need and get a form to fill out. After you step aside and fill it out.... you get back in the same line. And you wait another hour to get a number. Then you wait for a window to call you. When I was there, 2 of the 6 windows were manned. It took an insane amount of time to get a copy of my marriage license. The irony is, I needed the marriage license so my wife could go to DMV to go through purgatory to get a REAL ID. There has got to be an easier way.

The tennis court also has a mural there dedicated to the great tennis player from Richmond himself Arthur Ashe the mural wall can also be used as a hitting wall for solo tennis practice. I would suggest going there early or late at night in order to get a court as it is a popular place to play and the city and other programs do host tennis clinics there on multiple courts.

This beautiful concert was just over one hour long, and it was a real treat! The foyer and concert hall were lit with about 2,000 candles. The sound was crisp and clear. Tickets are sold by section, with Section A being the closest rows to the stage. We lucked out with front row seats. While they performed classical music tonight, we learned they also perform renditions of music by contemporary artists as well. We highly recommend!

The outdoor voting person wanted me to walk around to the far entrance to use the bathroom. She was quite rude about it. I could not go "into the voting door". Here is the stupid thing in order to use the only bathrooms in the building at the library I had to walk down the same corridor as the votes to use the toilet. The bathroom is right next to the voting entrance. Which is right next next to the bathrooms making me walk also right next to that lady and the voting door entrance. Rude Voting Lady and horrible way to run the library / county voting. FYI. I live in this county and pay their wages through my taxes. I wish I could VOTE on that.

I am only going to speak for my encounter with customer service today. I had a unique problem of a…read morecheck that had been issued to me when I paid off my mortgage and had been lost and forgotten until it surfaced a few days ago. It was for the remaining balance in my escrow account and had never been cashed. It was also well past the 180 days that the check was valid for. I work less than 10 miles from the VHDA building so I decided to bring the check and go down to the office to see how I could rectify the situation and hopefully finally receive the money that I had overpaid. There is no "customer service desk" at the office that I could go to, but the security guards were all quite nice. I was able to get one of the customer service representatives on the landline phone in the lobby and she rushed right down to take the check and get it to the correct department for a reissue. Customer service is tough but I'm sure a mortgage company that caters to more difficult loans can be especially so. Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and seemed anxious to resolve the problem. I will update this if I don't receive a new Update; about a week later I had my new check!

I've been to JM twice this month for jury duty, and the process is smooth if you follow…read moreinstructions. They have coffee for you in the morning, and will provide lunch if you have to stay and actually serve. The judge was professional and efficient. What's bothersome is that one of the courtrooms smells like pee. And I don't mean a faint whiff, but a full blown pee smell. When I came back to serve and had to go to a different courtroom, I smelled it again. So it appears it's the entire third floor.

But what If you have a problem or want to speak up? The work place should have safe places for workers to express their concerns and an hierarchy. Great surbubanite park in nature! They offer amazing paved and gravel trails with fun sights…read morefollowing the history of the coal mines here in Midlo! This is an amazing spot to get a walk in, enjoy a picnic or fish! The most unique part of this park is the tunnel that connects you to the walking loop around the lake. It's a lot of fun to just walk through and really helps break up the monotony of a walk. No playground but tons of things to see and animals around. There is also a creek that runs through most of the park so water access is available.
