I try to call and I can't get through. Then they tell me they will call me back and they never did twice. I came to the office and sit down without an appointment and then they come over the Pa and say I need an appointment. I didn't see where to get an appointment. Please help me read more

I spoke with a gentleman named Cami (hope the spelling is right)...He was so nice and answered all my questions. I know a lot of these reviews are bad, and I was scared to call due to the poor reviews, but I give 5 stars for Cami. He went above and beyond to help me. I was so nervous with all my questions and each one was answered thoroughly. Thank you Sir for genuinely caring :-) read more

Apparently a court ordered name change isn't enough for the social security office. ID expired a week ago. Provided a medical record that clearly states Kaiser and it doesn't have a "stamp". I hate this country but what do you expect from a land ruled by a dementia ridden orange Cheeto read more

I have been trying to get an appointment for my 105 yr. mother to move her SS check to a different bank account. I have been waiting over 2 weeks for a return call - never happened. It is difficult to take my mom -deaf, uses a walker and only sees some out of one eye. Useless government!! read more

The staff is amazingly helpful and organized. I so appreciated their help. I would suggest calling and making an appointment rather than just dropping in. read more

I hope the man I talked to at this office NEVER has a disabled child and has to interact with someone like him. I was following up from a very helpful first call with a woman who told me what I needed to send it. I asked for a status update and when our hearing is because we are supposed to get notice in writing with at least 20 days prior. We haven't heard anything. He proceeded to tell me that it doesn't really matter if my baby is disabled or not, because we make more than $24,000 a year, she won't be labeled as such. That is not what the law is not what I was told in a previous conversation so he doubled down and continued to not answer my questions, tell me to calm down, repeat that her disability determination has nothing to do with disability, and tried to get me off the phone. We still have not received a letter about our hearing, and he refused to let me speak to someone else. I guess a baby who depends on oxygen for life and cannot drink fluids is perfectly healthy in his mind. I don't know how ANYONE with a medically complex-child can afford their care, but he thinks $24K is the magic number- except her care costs that per month. The least you could do is have empathy and compassion while you are telling people they will go bankrupt to care for their child. Disappointed in the system is an understatement. Do better! read more

The friendliest staff of all time! If you do not have an appointment and you want to get out swiftly plan on getting there at 8:25am, they don't open until 9am but you'll be one of the first people they help as soon as they open, I was done and out by 9:10am. If you get there mid-day without an appointment don't expect to get out until 2+ hours later. Just do the easier thing and get there before opening, you won't regret it :) read more

There was no one waiting at the SSA office in Littleton, Colorado, and when they called me, I almost fell over having waited less than 5 mins. In Aurora, a month ago, I waited for 5 full hours. I am happy to have found a SSA office with some pride and professionalism and I will go back there. read more

I have several disabilities. I can't use computers. I went in got assistance from the guard to fill out screen and was seen in less than 10 minutes! All my issues were addressed! These individuals who are under duress by many misunderstood policies and intense pressure by Presidential pressure due to lack of understanding of the work done by individuals in governmental jobs each position is not allowed full access to files only for what they are trained for ie disability specialist or retirement benefits specialist each has been trained to do special tasks allowed specific tasks and can help you with certain things but it's difficult for them as it is us as they are trying their level best to give us access to all we need to know have our information and assistance to their knowledge and ability which sometimes in our lack of understanding or frustration or misinformation we take it as they don't want to tell us that's not the case. 1. Like all government policy positions they cannot give you legal assistance 2. They can only provide you with the information they are given access to. 3. They really want to help you with your questions but some of those questions are not in their job areas. Take it like you have a medical condition you don't go to a mechanic. Unfortunately, staff cuts and all of backlogs it is difficult for everyone to get the best scenarios all the time. But, I've learned asking for assistance when filling out that que is key it gets you to the person who you need to see quicker as the phones are jammed and callbacks happen but are slow and frustrating for both sides. Remember but yourself in their shoes too! It's not just you having a lot of stress they are too their caseloads are even higher than they were a month ago 6 months ago we can be nice and show decency. We are all going through difficult times situations and stress right now. Just remember honey is preferred to than vinegar and goes much further. I had an amazing experience to the point he went out of his way got a retirement expert to weigh in briefly in passing to answer a second question that was on my mind but I have TBI's So I have yet other questions that I forgot. Please remember, WE I DO MEAN WE ARE ALL SUFFERING RIGHT NOW KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY. read more

Can't get ahold of them, can't schedule appointments, don't send confirmations.dont recommend coming here or even bother trying here

Been sitting here for an hour, pretty sure the woman in window B just left to go eat lunch. She's been gone for 20 minutes. Absolutely insane. Have shifts so we don't have to sit even longer waiting for someone to eat!!! Not enough chairs. Nowhere for elderly people to sit. I'm pregnant and was standing until someone else got up. Allow people to make appts online. Wouldn't recommend this location ever, I know I'm going to be here all day. read more

I have been to this office twice in the last ~2 months and have had fine experiences both times. People should expect long waits at the SS office, I've had the same problems getting through via phone to make an appointment but the security guard and both employees that helped me were all friendly and efficient. read more

Every time I call this office I'm waiting on hold for approximately 11-15 mins. then silence & abruptly disconnected every single time. This has been going on for far too long, almost a year in fact. Please allow the public to call your office or perhaps send a phone company technician to fix this so, that we the people can connect with someone from your office to discuss our business with you. read more

Usually when calling this office I am put on hold for 15 minutes or more and then abruptly disconnected. this has happened more than half a dozen times. the other day I finally got through to the rudest unprofessional person I have ever had the disfortune of speaking to. she kept insinuating that I was bothering her because ALL the answers are on the web page and I should have gone there. she would ask me a question and then keep on talking before I could answer. she made a statement that I didn't understand and when I questioned her, she hung up on me!! No excuse for that kind of behavior. she should not be aloud to work in public service. read more

I've been to this location three times for the same thing. The website is unclear about what specific documents are needed so I had to come back. The lady sent my social security card to the wrong address so I came back a third time and was told I'd have to do the process over again. I'm not coming back a fourth time. read more

INCOMPETENT!!!! Had to drop off my information due to Covid. Called and was told just need an ID and proof of name change, that didn't seem right. Called back and was told I needed my ID, proof of name change and a form from the website. Dropped off the information to only get a letter a week later in the mail that they put my name in wrong. Double checked the form and I did fill it out correctly. Call them they updated by phone. Weeks passed no new card received. Called back AGAIN and was told it takes 4-6 weeks for a card and it was not mailed out yet. Wait 3 weeks and still no card. Call back and NOW I am being told I have to redo the whole process!!! All they could do is apologize and tell me it was probably someone new. Well then train your employees!!! This many errors should not occur. read more

Couldn't have gone better except for me misreading their hours on the website. Once I got my act together everything went smoothly. Very courteous and efficient. Nice to see their efforts paying off. read more

Get here no later than 15 minutes before it opens, there will already be people in line, but you'll be out within a half hour. By the time it actually opened the line had trippled if not more!! Very comfortable and efficient though. And everyone was very friendly. Great customer service. The only suggestion I have really is that they COULD have some sort of system that would allow us to get a 'number' to get in line and then go back to waiting in our cars. They use a computerized system now (versus those little pieces of paper with numbers on them) so I'd recommend an 'ATM' like machine that faces the outside where you can enter your information just as you would once you got inside. Then you can go wait in your car, go get coffee, whatever. They could put a time frame on it so that a person can't come at 1am and sign up for the next day, LOL. It could start 20 or 30 minutes prior to opening? Eh...just a thought. read more

Get here before 9am. I stood in line about 8:25am and I was the third in line. Once the doors open at 9 you have to single filedly register in the system and grab your ticket. There are two security guards making sure you stick in line and don't crowd anyone around you, which I appreciated because you're entering your SS#. After grabbing my ticket for my name change, I waited about 2 min and was called to a window. The girl was not friendly but I guess I expected grumpy employees after the amount of people they deal with. I couldn't imagine going to my job where there's many people outside waiting before the door is even open. Anyways, the whole process was fairly quick and I was out of there by 9:09! Moral of the story, get there early and don't expect to be greeted with a smile! read more

This place is the worst. I called because I had a simple change to report and address to confirm. "Justin" answered and after going through the initial questions, after I gave him my address, he proceeded to tell me that I needed to come in person to fill out paperwork. When I asked him if I could fax/email/mail the information because my disability makes it difficult to get out and sit for hours. Rather than offer accommodations, etc., "Justin" told me that "maybe [I] shouldn't be caregiver or representative payee for my children" if I couldn't handle making it to their office. I have a caregiver and reside in Parker. I do not drive because of my disability and my caregiver was fine giving me a ride but it was something I needed to schedule. I called to talk to someone else to see if what "Justin" was saying was in fact correct. He answered and told me that I was under penalty of perjury. When I asked him why he said that, he just repeated it. He proceeded to hang up on me when I asked to talk with someone else. The third time I called, he answered. I calmly told him that I needed him to explain some things for me. He told me that I had better stop calling them. I went to the office the next day after getting all the paperwork I was told was needed. After waiting several hours, I was called to the desk where a woman (didn't catch her name) proceeded to take the paperwork from me and she told me that she didn't know why I had to come in to the office. She said "that should not have happened". Mind you, in between all of this, I did call the national telephone number. I spoke with someone there who would not override what "Justin" had said as he had coded it a certain way in the computer to ensure that if I called the national line I would be kicked back to this office. Blatant abuse of power and for someone there to question my ability to parent my children because I'm disabled due to MS is beyond the pale. read more

I walked in without an appt at 9am Monday morning. The line was out the door, but moved pretty well. I was seen in about 15 minutes and it took 10 minutes at the counter. Smooth sailing. read more

Nobody usually says anything nice about government offices, but today was a really great experience. It's a Thursday, I have been putting off this visit to the Social Security office for a month now. I gathered all of my identification including drivers license passport birth certificate and marriage license etc. and said a prayer. I arrived at the Social Security office at 10:30 AM. All I needed was to replace the cards for everyone in my family because I had laminated them, not realizing that you shouldn't. They were so kind, they even replaced my husbands who I also laminated. None of my kids or my husband accompanied me to the visit, but they were exceptionally accommodating. WOW There were only three people in the waiting room on the Thursday morning at 10:30 AM, the line moved very quickly, everyone was smiling and the guard at the guard desk even started up a conversation with me. I have only good things to say about this office, it is my second time here and both times have been remarkably smooth. Not sure why I always get so anxious about going here?? read more

I went into this office today, the clerk who waited on me was very rude. She asked me for my ID. I gave her my Driver's License and also offered my US Birth Certificate. She claimed she didn't need the Birth Certificate. I was puzzled by that comment. She then became quite rude and unprofessional towards me. She doesn't deserve to have any job in which she would be serving the public. There is more to this story, regarding how unfairly I was treated at this office. I would like to discuss this with a manager. So, I wish to speak with a supervisor. read more

We had a very pleasant experience at this SS office. A short line, very courteous and helpful staff.

Arrived here just before 9 AM to inquire about moving my sons SSI benefit from California to Colorado. The wait was about an hour but the line moved quickly. There are four categories of waiting. I seemed to be in the one with the most but ultimately the representative was able to provide me with the information I needed hence the five stars. read more

Sitting here so far for an hour and my number/letter has changed 2 times. And now 3 of the 4 people working are gone...lunch maybe??!!! Horrible customer service. Our government and agencies are so f'd up. Only 9 more numbers to go, so by my calculations they'll see me by 5pm. Sweet! read more

Called before we came in to make an appointment. Put on hold, of course, so we just came in. Been here over an hour and the ticket number moved once. On top of that they closed one window when there was standing room only in here! It's hard on these poor senior citizens. Why don't they hire more employees for heaven's sake? Bad customer service! read more
