They were breaking for lunch. What surprised me was one of the ladies got into her vehicle, attached her seatbelt and pull out of the parking space and as she drove passed me she was using her cell phone. MY QUESTION IS...IF SHE WAS TESTING SOMEONE AND THEY USED THEIR CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING. WOULD SHE FAIL THEM? Rules for thee, but not for me!

In the two other states I have applied for a driver license, it was all day event and signing away your first born child with as much documentation they required. Here in Kentucky, it was a complete different ballgame. I walked in to no line, received a friendly greeting, and was assured right away. It took about 5-10 mins of processing then the lady at the camera called my name before the cashier was even done! Got my picture, took a seat for about 3 minutes and my name was called for my license. I was there all of about 30 mins total, probably even less time. Quite amazing process if you ask me. I'm officially a Kentucky resident!

About 8:05 I was already being helped. Unfortunately I didn't have what I needed and ran home. Spent less than 10 minutes inside. The woman that helped me was friendly and helpful. About 8:25 I came back. Got everything processed (change of license from a different state), and in under 20 minutes I was out the door with my new KY driver's license. The 3 employees I interacted with were very friendly, and the service was quick. I'm very happy with my experience there.

In 2011 I had an experience where I drank underage and was brought with two huge parties to this…read morejail. Listen, I sat in booking with all of these parties and had the time of my life. I even had a chat with a sex worker and we laughed together. They even let me keep my phone (though it was dying -rookie mistake ). They said I had to stay 8 hours or something to make sure I was sober. I called my dad and everything was cool. I've never been in trouble since and it's been 12 years but I wanted to say my only complaint was the woman guard who yelled at me for speaking to other inmates. I'm drunk. Of course I'm speaking to other inmates. I made the jail my new bar. I was ready to know everyone's astrology sign and dissect that. I'm sure there's way more corrupt stories but mine was like a red roof inn kind of experience. My girlfriend cried and I was chit chatting with the "neighbors" so it sounds about on point. I'm glad that everyone was nice even if I was told to hush one too many times. I think they all liked me and let me keep talking which was cool of them because I've since been a deputy before in a different county. I now live in nyc and am a photographer and a stand up comic and I couldn't find any review I'd care to post except this one. I'm not even doing it to be funny. I think the food offered was like a one star but I've never been a fan of prepackaged sandwiches. Either way, as corrupt as the system may be, you all were solid with me. Toast to y'all and this failing system.

Then I push the button so that someone could come and get the glasses and the guy on the speaker got rude and said they were understaffed. Seriously lacking guys…read more Ever since I came to Lexington for college, I have noticed a HUGE difference in how roads lead and how roads are. I guess Lexington use to be a small city and now that it is growing, there is a need to find a way to upgrade the infrastructure. Suggestions are: 1.) To have three lanes on both sides of New Circle Road, Man O War, Richmond Road (all the way from Athens-Boonesboro), and any other high traffic road. 2.) Post a sign on any two lane road that anything bigger than a normal sized, four wheeled vehicle stay to the right except to pass- any vehicle pulling a trailer, motorcycles, and any sized truck (even the ones with four wheels), 3.) Traffic lights need to be quicker, preferably allow cross, turning traffic to go and then straight ways at all points of intersections, please take out the blinking yellow turning lights....tons of people could be T-boned if not judging traffic (yeah I know, it was probably intended that way to further alleviate traffic back ups) 4.) Make sure the traffic lights are in sync with the pedestrian lights- lots of times I will see a red hand when the traffic light is green (okay maybe it is that way because someone has to cross, before it can turn green) and make sure the countdowns on the pedestrian lights correspond with traffic lights (tons of times I will see the counter go to zero and the traffic light is still green) 5.) get someone from Texas to consult on putting ridges in the roads to allow for water flow and not make it as slick (there is a whole idea that if you match ridges with tire treads, it actually helps to provide better grip- study done by their Department of Highways shown on Modern Marvels) 6.) Any unlit areas of roadways on Richmond road should AT LEAST have reflectors on the islands, you cannot see anything at night and have to go off yellow lines- I am surprised this is not a compliance issue! I think that is it. I asked the mayor about it and he gave me an email from someone at this place. The guy responded; however, I am still not seeing any changes. We need our taxes to go to this kind of stuff, people are going crazy over it..silent rioting. It would decrease the overall accident rate and keep tire wear less.

Lexington is definitely a college town centered around the events hosted by the University of…read moreKentucky. As with most downtown buildings, you will see banks, hotels, restaurants and government buildings. There are a host small parks sprinkled throughout. Triangle Park is definitely a place you should visit because it transforms seasonally. In the Spring/Summer, you will experience the sprawling fountains. During the winter ice skating is available. Because we are a horse metropolis, you will also see horse statues, too.
