About 8:05 I was already being helped. Unfortunately I didn't have what I needed and ran home. Spent less than 10 minutes inside. The woman that helped me was friendly and helpful. About 8:25 I came back. Got everything processed (change of license from a different state), and in under 20 minutes I was out the door with my new KY driver's license. The 3 employees I interacted with were very friendly, and the service was quick. I'm very happy with my experience there.

It is now located in the new courthouse at the corner of 4th & Main. I found parking right in front of the courthouse which was nice. I entered the new modern building and was greeted by deputies at the entrance prior to walking through a metal detector. This is new for Shelby County. One deputy searched my purse while the other ushered me through the metal detector arch. Once through the deputies directed me to an office on the main floor to the right of where I entered. It turns out three other people were also applying for renewals on their Driver's License. The process went fast and efficient. The longest delay (about 5 minutes) was to wait to be seated for my new picture. After my picture was scanned the clerk completed my new license and handed it back to me (warm off the machine). So I was in and out in less than 15 minutes and the cost was a mere $20. I'm now legal for another four years.

I was interested in updating my review based on the ease in arranging for an absentee ballot to vote in the upcoming election since I will be out of town on the early voting days and on Election Day. My husband and I both separately filled out our request for an Absentee Ballott and submitted it online. Three days later we received our ballots in the mail. Before we had a chance to fill in our ballots we received an email message that one local item was worded incorrectly and that a new ballot would be sent out right away. The replacement ballott was received promptly. We have now filled out our ballots and they will be dropped off in the Clerk's Office indoor drop box tomorrow. Thanks for offering a variety of ways to assure each citizen can cast their vote.

The woman that I spoke to, and I will say "woman" because she was definitely not a lady, wasn't very friendly whatsoever. It was obvious that I was disturbing her and causing her to do her job and she started to make a rude and disrespectful comment but, she caught herself. If it bothers you to do your job and be helpful to someone then, you need to seek employment elsewhere. Before you do that, CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE. I don't know who this person is but, when I go to the Morehead office, I intend to find out and complain to her supervisor! She doesn't need to be working with the public if she can't handle it. I would love to speak with someone on the phone who has some authority at this office and let them know about this. This location is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was getting my federal compliant ID and had heard stories of people having to make multiple trips. I checked online ahead of time and was pretty sure I had what I needed. I was greeted at the door by a friendly gentleman who confirmed I had checked in online properly and my space in line was reserved. I filled out a form and waited just a couple minutes for my number to be called. The person at the counter was friendly and helped me with my ID and two license plate renewals, with some nice conversation while she completed the registrations. All in, less than 15 minutes later, everything was done in a quick, professional way and I was on my way! Hard to believe you can enjoy an experience at the BMV but it's true! Next time you need the BMV, I recommend this location.

I had visited two different offices and found long lines. As it turns out each office is running on skeleton crews. I was thankful they were able to be open. As we stood outside in single file with 20 people before me, we were periodically explained by employees under CoVid protocol the Staff of only two on duty can only allow two customers inside at one time. To help speed the line we were given information to have ready and if anyone didn't have all needed documents one was saved the loss time. Once my turn came, I found the employees to be helpful and courteous. My renewal was easy and faster than expected. " Patience is what is needed in thees difficult times ", Plenty of lot parking No facilities available Revised hours due to CoVid.
