Customer service was bad lady act like she had a problem with servicing me which is sad when that's literally where you work at.

So Kentucky basically downsized their offices to a few where I thought getting a REAL ID was going to be a pain in the butt. My experience was as follows: I drove their early on a Saturday (select walk in days) or else one will have to take paid leave as this place is open only during business hours on appointment. I ended up waiting in line from 7:34 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and I do not even think they opened on time. I think it was like 8:01-8:02 a.m. before a gal began checking me in. She will ask for name and payment method (cash or card). Since I was paying by card; I had to wait a bit longer (people who pay in cash get the priority). Then they will have one wait in a room of around 40 chairs. They will then have you move to another room with 8 chairs and some at the other end of the building (4 I think..maybe for cash only?). Then they will call one up and tell the booth number. From what I had seen, they were numbered up to 12. Since I was getting a REAL ID done, they had taken all the documents (I chose to bring a bank statement, pay stub, and social security card). I forget that one's driver's license can also serve as a proof of residency document. Just make sure that everything given matches. All names should match and all addresses should match. Oh and another thing, they WILL TAKE A PICTURE. I ended up going there with a cap and they had told me to take it off to take a picture. I had to do some last minute hair damage control. I thought they just put a star on the standard license, why take another picture? Does this mean I can online renew again on my next renewal? I ended up leaving at around 8:48 a.m. Edit: The temporary REAL ID stapled to my old license stated 10-12 business days. I just wanted to report back that I received my REAL ID on 11/12/2024. So really, only 7 business days (technically, 5 because the state government observes Veteran's and Election Day. Very timely. read more

Really needs a 'No star' rating 7 HOURS to renew my license Waited from 10:30 am until 5:30 pm...(just to RENEW MY LICENSE).even .after they had closed the doors at 4pm to any new people After waiting the first 3 hours I took it as a challenge and the thought of having to come back was so horrifying that I made myself stay. The front desk people were polite the guards there were pro and polite However the lady I had to deal with for my renewal couldn't be more unpleasant , I guess it takes a special personality to deal with people who have waited so long to hand YOU money. After 7 hours they should of paid ne. Avoid this place if at all possible. Leestown Road is ridiculous!! My son is 16 he failed the eye exam so I took him to the eye doctor (like they told me to do). They said yes he need alittle help with distance but he's not restricted. I take him back to get his permit and the big woman acted like a two year old they both did. They were mad because they wanted him to be restricted. They are not eye doctors- they work in an office and really who can see there little red dots anyway. I can't believe they would treat a nervous, excited 16 year old and just ruin . It would help if they would answer their phones!! The overall experience getting my license was a nightmare. I did it online and it took months to get it. Also, when you call no one answers so they have to call you back. They call you back but then you get transferred and then they have to call you back again. Made and appointment early morning got a afternoon same day appointment, arrived and checked in with a lady standing outside who had names on a piece of paper. Of course, my name was not on the paper. I had to show her my email confirmation for my same day appointment she added my name to the list and I had to wait until my appointment time to come in. I came in and had to check in with you, have a second lady with a piece of paper, who directed me to a certain state, which took cash payment. I got A Replacement ID, which was only $15 and still has to be mailed to me from Frankfort as that's where the only printer is. Search this place has online check-in. Why are the ladies at the door not using a computer pad or laptop to check in the whole place seems disorganized because of this. read more

Went to the Mayesville KY office for license renewal. Walked right in was asked if I had any address or name changes I answered no just need to renew license and could not do on line due to I have to have vision screening. Lady took me right back gave me the screening then told me to fill out the form front and back and said that I would get my temp license email by 5pm that same day. Never received temp license email. I attempted to call the office 606-721-6006 got a voicemail for a Theresa that said leave a message and I will return your call. However the voicemail is full could not leave a message. Have tried for 3 straight days and always the same. I also sent an email and my reply back was they would respond in 2-3 business days. So today I did the live chat on the KYdrive website and asked if I could get the email sent and was advised they cannot I can call 502-564-1257 so I did had extremely long hold time but was given the option to request a call back. I chose that option and they said that it would up to 48 hours for a call back. All I need is the email with a copy of temp license. I am sure I am not the only person this has happened to and there should be a way to go online and print this out for yourself. Even though I did not have to wait in line forever and they did submit the form and my license has been renewed I have no receipt for the payment nor to I have a copy of my license to have until I get the real one in the mail. If you can go somewhere else I wouldn't waste my time here! There are so many things about this place that make it a horrible experience. The customer service is horrible they all are b**ches for that matter! If you don't make an appointment they make you stand outside in 20 degree weather for hours on end. None of the workers know what they are doing the woman at desk 5 in the back told us to go to their site to do the test for your full unrestricted license and we paid $40 non refundable just to go back and for her to tell us we did the wrong 4 hour class when we absolutely did the one she told us to do! I was with my fiancé and they let multiple people in together but I couldn't go in and had to wait in the cold in the car when there was plenty of open seats. I had to get a new driver's license . I made my appointment two weeks ago for as soon as possible which was today (Feb 17th) . The next appointment would have been March 2nd if I had missed today's appointment. I unfortunately was running late &called to let them know. I ended up being half an hour late which they allowed for. (And I was very grateful they did allow me to be late rather then have me reschedule). They are following the CDC guidelines , you come in the person at the desk will ask if you have an appointment then direct you to another person who has the appointments for the day &you sign in with them. They have two rows of chairs to sit and wait your turn. Even though I was late I didn't wait long to be called and directed down a short hallway to wait to get my new license . It wasn't long at all before I was directed to a cubicle to sit&tell them why I was there . What I thought would have been a nightmare turned out to be the complete opposite. Waited 4 hours because their systems were down but an employee had already told me I had all the paperwork and documents I needed to change my residence. When they were finally up and running, I was told by another employee that I didn't have what I needed and I had to come back another day. Came back with a scheduled appointment and they denied me because they "couldn't take online appointments" even though I made it on their website and they NEVER answer the phone to schedule an appointment. Great job with this new location and new experience. Instead of driving all the way to Frankfort, I was able to renew my Real ID by making an appointment here at the new Leestown Rd regional office. They do take walk-ins as well. I was there ten minutes before my appointment time. They checked me in right away and I sat in the waiting area for less than 10 minutes before being called up to one colored line on the floor. Two minutes later they had me step up to the next colored line. Then right away I was assigned to one of the 20 work stations for immediate service. I was in and out in 20 minutes!! Everyone was super nice and it was a great experience. Thank you!! read more
