My cousin was pretty freaked out that he was gonna have to request another appt that was gonna take another 6 to 8 weeks and even longer. As the smart lady that I am, I told him that I'd take them the next day early morning for the appt and hopefully explain the situation and maybe the office will do it for them but not to get their hopes up because USCIS is usually " u miss it, schedule another one, see u next time". So, we went and when the lady called our number, we were so nervous that she was gonna say no, and she looked around the room and said "no problem, it's pretty early, not a lot of people yet, I can do both of u" . It was such a relief, and the lady there was so nice putting up with us with the translation from English to creole/creole to English. She was our angel that day, and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts from not sending us Bk for another appointment because these things could be so stressful and lengthy. If you are buying a house or selling your house you are familiar with the registry of deeds. This is the government county hub that actually takes the documents that are prepared by your attorney and records them and makes it public that a conveyance has happened. Any legal matter regarding your property will get recorded here. So if you are refinancing your mortgage, the new mortgage documents will be recorded at the registry. You can go online to every county registry of deeds in our state and find the documents for your own individual property. This registry is in the New Mill buildings of Merrimack St in Lawrence and is a much better location than being in the old courthouse location. It was seeded and dangerous before and now is new, clean and easily accessible with plenty of parking in the Mill Lot. There is plenty of seating for researchers who are doing family research or title examiners and attorneys who need to do work here.

I was not able to complete my driver's license renewal online due to an issue with validating one of my documents. As instructed online, I printed out the recommended form, and brought the required document for verification. When I arrived, I was greeted by a person who scanned the form, and handed me a number and told me to wait for it to be called. It was called automatically before he finished the sentence. I went to the assigned window, presented the document required, took an eye test, and paid electronically, and the transaction was complete in less than two minutes. The WHOLE transaction... Suggestion: Follow the directions online, and if you can, choose the location based on the wait times posted online. Both were very accurate for me.

I have had a Post Office Box here for about 43 years. The price was initially about $10 per year…read more It has been going up pretty much every year over the past decade or so. Now over $300 per year - and the Lawrence PO and other surrounding Post Offices are less expensive, go figure! It has been a Pain in the A-- to mail anything there so I no longer try to visit and go elsewhere (btw, Salem NH is also very bad - lines out the door also). Unfortunately, I have to sign for things at times and therefore have to go to the window, which I dread....That typically means long lines and long waits, as there is typically one person at the window. I was there about 2 weeks ago, there were two people at the window, two customers with them, I was next in line with no one else behind me. When the customer was finished with the clerk, the clerk left. I had another 13 mins or so to wait until the person at the only window had about 7 return receipts done on her mailings. There were now about 7 people behind me and out the door. I had to pick up something unexpectedly at the window today - again, tried to find a time where it wouldn't be busy. WRONG! They were out the door again and people had lots of things to check in and only one clerk on duty. REALLY? So again, after driving miles, I had to leave and will return again - this is actually the 2nd time I tried to pick up the package....so it will be a third time in the future that I will give it another shot. It usually takes about 3 times to pick up something...unfortunately, I still have to wait typically 15 or 20 mins or more. I WANT OUT OF THIS POST OFFICE and don't care if I ever go back. Have been using and visiting this PO for 60 years. I will negate my business cards, invoices/receipts just so I don't have the aggravation of constantly waiting. Btw, the employees are typically nice and unfortunately are probably stressed when at the window and there is a long line. This does seem like a 3rd world country as far as the PO goes. BOB, whom I have dealt with numerous times over the years, is always friendly, is a help and enjoy chatting with him, IF there is not a long line out the door. Had to leave as it causes other issues, but will be glad to get rid of the stress and anxiety that this causes when I have to visit IF I have to go to the counter.
