Finally, after the Chatsworth Police Department rejected the online police report for jurisdiction reasons, the financial crimes Department in Las Vegas informed me that they could file a courtesy report and fax it to the Chatsworth division. My uncle and I arrived when they opened and there were already two couples ahead of us. The sign on the door indicated they opened at 8:00 am, but the online website indicated that they opened at 9:00. By 9:10 a.m. we were being helped. They had us go inside of the glass door to file the report with one of the women who appeared to be training the other young lady who was working the front window. It is a little frustrating to see three or four employees assisting one person instead of opening more windows, but oh well.

I have never had that happen to me so I called a Vegas police officer I know & he said its actually somewhat common. I had to go to a police station w/all of my proof of car insurance and that the car is in fact mine etc. Then I spoke w someone and they said I had to go go a DMV wait over there and get an appointment etc. I guess I lucked out bc I waited in line for a bit w no appt and got a brand new license plate and was able to walk out w a new one. The lady was very helpful at the police dept so although it was a bad experience and it was a long day, it was a decent experience at the LVMP.

But the beds!? If you can call them that? Abhorrent is an understatement. If you enjoy sleeping 40 mins at a time only to wake up wondering if you're having transient strokes affecting various parts of your body, then this is the place for you! The beds feel like they were donated by a company that couldn't sell them otherwise, so they opted for a tax break. I have slept in hostels, the ground, tile floors, and even the occasion bush that left me more rested. If you love the feeling of a 90 year old pelvic girdle, permanent nerve damage, and impending spinal surgery, this is the place for you! Beds so bad that it took a 5 star review to 1.

No wonder every one likes firefighters more than cops (besides cops themselves, and their moms*). *On second thought, half of cop-moms probably still like firefighters more. You can come here to take class. You can come here to use the vending machine. (It is in the short hallway to the left once you pass the first set of couches.) You can come here to sit on the couches. You can apply for City Fire, test, swear (or affirm) your oath, and become a fucking firefighter for all I care. I am from Florida and lived in Missouri for years and had multiple jobs in both states and never had issues with licensing, etc. I was a correctional officer so I'm fully aware of how state licensing works, I come to Nevada seeking armed security careers, and was told I need a PILB card, okay so I go through the process of obtaining a PILB, I get my provisional card in an email, great I'm thinking everything is going smoothly; well a few months go by and my provisional has expired and I haven't received my hard copy in the mail. So then I call, 11 times no answer, left voicemails. I'm on a deadline for a job to get my hard copy, I send an email, and get an automated system message saying their closed because of the cyber attack, my employer informed me that they have already resumed operations well before I sent the email, cool so I'm being blown off. I have yet to get ahold of someone via email and phone call. I may lose my career opportunity because of this. I am very upset and stressed out as I am an adult with bills to pay and a family to take care of. Great system PILB of Nevada.

Smells much like an abandoned library and is somehow amazingly the closest post office to the entire Summerlin area. Every employee is entirely over it. I was under the impression that postal employees got paid reasonably well but you'd get better attitudes from a teenager at dollar general than you do here. The lines are always, always long. As per usual with anything involving shipping there will be a dozen people before you that have apparently never shipped or received mail and require the unlucky employee to explain that no, transporters don't yet exist, yes, overnight mail is expensive, stamps do indeed cost "that much" and sure enough there is no federally mandated guarantee that their shipment of valuable and vintage long john's may not arrive in Switzerland by exactly 8:30am the following day. Still though. I mail a lot. It a a business thing. I'm one of those people who print their labels and tape their boxes and just usually need to drop it off. Of course their automated machine has been broken since Clinton was in office so... I wait in line. However. Lord forbid your local postal carrier just gets lazy and doesn't leave any info in your box or on your door, and doesn't drop it in your mailbox or by your door. No, more often than not he takes your package here. Awaiting your pickup. You won't know it, until it just fails to arrive. This happens with alarming frequency. Doesn't matter if your package is $10 or $1000. It sits here waiting for you to psychically divine that it's ready for you. Except it's not. See, at the counter you can see a bit of the back. Piles and piles of boxes and trash all kind of just mixed together. Somewhere in there is your package. Maybe. Not mine, not in two different cases. Two different packages over a 3 months span have just evaporated. Tracking stops here. Searches yield no result. Insurance claims auto denied. Your recourse? Hope the company that shipped the package is in a good mood and can reship. Nevada is great. Summerlin is great. This post office? It's a portal to hell. Ship any other method if you want any form of reliability.
