The Simmons location is very fast and competent. In and out the few times I've been there in like 15 minutes.

WOW,…read moreI was heading to tour Neon Museum and decided to continue my drive deep into North Las Vegas where no man or woman should drive and discovered the end of the world here! Fellow travelers the Zombie Apocalypse Is real as it get and they live on the streets of North Las Vegas. So I'm driving and the first thing I see is an actual street walking prostitute getting ready for some Friday night tricks, needless to say I didn't stop and say hi.... As my drive continued into the waist-land of human carnage laid upon the streets in cardboard boxes, plastic tents and cement beds I also noticed the wheelchairs (vehicle of choice ) that people sitting around in. You can see the countless police cruisers handling some multiple incidents, so if you wanna watch just follow the flashing blue lights and it's no K-Mart Special happening. This went on for miles while I drove. A few casinos actually existed but you'd take your own life trying to get from parking to the doors without getting clubbed over your skull and robbed. ( Safety NOTE ), so be careful while driving cause people just start walking across the street no matter how fast your driving. I almost had some road kill mounted to the hood of my car while heading out of town for some person just walking ( HELLO RED HAND LIGHT IS FOR TO STOP ) and I even had a green light to drive...I'm fairly sure if you came into contact with anyone in this area you defiantly has a 100% chance of getting either HIV, CV19 or some new immune deficiency that's not been detected. Maybe you wanna take the kids to scare them about the dangers of drugs but you may scar them for life. But if you do I expect a family photo to be posted on YELP... Now if you do journey into North Las Vegas lock your doors cause you've been warned! Aloha

Not going to lie, visiting one's Social Security office can be a bit of a hair raising experience…read more Lots of people, security at the door, tense, confusing, paperwork ridden, exhausting. It is what it is. Toshima at the front when I first walk in made my two visits to the SS here on Buffalo a 4-star experience. Having to go twice on behalf of a family member and sorting out their mountainous pile of medical paperwork to properly file SSDI for them, I am already overwhelmed before I even walk thru the door. But when I do, Toshima is at the first window kind of hollering at folks walking in and asking "do you have an appointment?" He is a super nice guy, you can just tell, despite him hollering at you thru the plastic partition from behind his desk. He is quick to help and offer advice without attitude or tone. Clearly there is a lot of reason for an employee at an SS office to be short tempered or at the end of their rope, but Toshima is real, measured, human. In the sea of confusion surrounding all that I was addressing, Toshima was clearly knowledgeable, experienced, trying to move my process along and doing what he can to make sure I have everything in order that they requested, thus why I was there to begin with. He interacted with me in a way that made the SS office seem "human" if that makes sense. He does not want you to waste your time or their time. He might be a unicorn in the whole experience, but again, he is worthy of making my experience a 4-star event. So yeah, my first Yelp review of a Social Security office and hopefully my last, but Toshima warrants a shout out in exceeding my expectations that were super low prior to walking in.

The Bottom Line Upfront (BLUF) is that this office consistently demonstrates significant incompetence and urgently needs to overhaul its customer service, particularly in communications and process improvement. More specifically; 1. They don't answer the phone and it's a frustrating joke to try and call them. 2. They don't return phone calls either except once in my experience of calling them more times than I counted - on the order of 50 times. 3. They make demands while holding your money hostage in their letters of what you "Must Do" to get your own money! 4. There is zero-point zero customer service - just an attitude of what you "must do" to meet their process/requirements to get the money they have collected from you for 48 years. 5. Everything is your fault for not being an expert at their process. The latest insult is demanding what I must do by April 25th, 2026, in returning their forms SSA 827 and SSA 8240. See attached pictures of SSA instructions of what I "Must Do" dated March 25, 2026. These forms were completed on April 5th (see attached pictures with my SSN redacted (glad I kept copies-knowing this would happen with this office. These forms were mailed back on April 6th from the main post office off Sunset to expediate delivery. Then 8 days later I get a notice saying they did not receive my forms! Then they sent the same notice to lawyer's office. Then my lawyer's office sent me a notice that I need to submit the forms - LOL!!! So, I am submitting the forms here for the public to see I submitted on time. And of course, I submitted to my attorney's office before the deadline. Will the SSA step into their power and admit they did not check their mail or inboxes, or is it the post office's failure to deliver the mail or my fault for paying into a grossly incompetent system for 48 years? IMO, the SSA is just a government insurance fraud/ government jobs program cloaked as a human services support system. So, what now SSA? Who is at fault here and how does this get owned? Perhaps, I "Must do" something per all your letters. Sincerely, my hope, rather my great hope, is that your office greatly improve. For the future generations - I would recommend you never pay one penny into this SSA Government jobs program and their buildings. The SSA is a fine example of another Government program that tell the people funding them what the rules are and then dictate what you pay and how much you get, when you get it and what you "must do" to get it (that statement is in their every letter and sometimes multiple times), and what your bennies are! Let the people invest their own money, their way- let them own their money and invest same. DEFUND THE SSA. In a word, my experience with the SSA has been an "aweful".

This was after being made to wait 6 hours to pick up personal items. By posting a bond we actually delayed the arraignment process that would occurred much sooner than the 24 hour waiting period that comes after you post a bond. No one provides you with these important details, until you spent your $ for zero results. Here is an update that will hopefully help others navigate this process, because you will not be provided with important information by the facility staff. 1) We needed our offenders personal belongings to access funds to purchase a bail bond. We were told by corrections staff that they make the rounds every 15 minutes to proved the needed consent form the offender completes to give you consent. They said the offender must not be paying attention, our loved one was waiting and waiting, and waiting for over six hours, as they violated her civil rights to access funds for a bail bond. 2) We called many times over a six hour plus period to have them provide the consent form, as evident in their recorded calls. 3) A corrections officer assured us the offender would be released by 7 pm, release was the following day at 6:30 a.m. 4) We called repeatedly checking on release status and the staff has a general script "we are slammed," with cases. However, I interviewed several offenders that were released and they shared that many staff were sitting around just talking on end. Some facility folks tried to be helpful, like getting the consent form for personal belongings after more than 6 hours. The majority of staff came across as rude, angry, unhappy people. At a time when loved ones and families are at their most vulnerable. The punishment will be meted out by the judge; fines, community service... What is the purpose of making you wait for a tampon over 14 hours by the corrections staff-to humiliate and dehumanize you? The auto impound folks showed more compassion and professionalism, and informed better on corrections facility processes.
