Law Enforcement Appreciation Day had several agencies come out and display equipment used in their daily operations. Food trucks, raffles and activities for the kids were seen throughout making this a family fun day. Although, the weather was a bit chilly the turnout was decent. Useless place. That refuses to fill out official government forms because "they arn't their forms"

Fire stations and police departments are those essential services in every neighborhood that you don't typically know where they are til you need them - thankfully it wasn't a major emergency that put this location on my radar. I came in to get a copy of a traffic report and it was my closest station. Location is clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and I was in and out fairly fast, about 15 minutes. For those who are hearing impaired, the current setup with plastic barriers between you and staff are difficult to communicate between - there's no microphone or anything, you're just kind of shouting at each other. This is not easy or helpful when you're seated right next to someone else trying to do the same thing, and can hear their situation more easily than the person you're actually there to speak with. read more

Came to this precinct because I needed to file a police report for identify theft, which is something that should be taken care of as soon as possible per the FTC, TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. The reporting portion of the office closes at 5pm and I showed up at 4:30pm. The woman told me they were busy and to take my paperwork to the Martin Luther King Blvd precinct as they would be open tomorrow. I was hopeful they would want to help their community but there was also a pizza party going on, which is obviously much more important than helping me file a police report to give the creditors. read more

I can describe these people in one word "Useless". They are only good at giving out traffic tickets, like no seatbelt, no turn signal or didn't come to a complete stop at stop sign. If you actually called them for something serious like criminal activity around your house/neighborhood, they will show up like 3 hours later after the criminals are gone. I'm new to Nevada. Of all the places I have lived, I have-never run into a police station that has business hours and is not open 24 hours a day. I was on hold for five minutes with 911 before anyone answered and refused to send dispatch out when my car was broken into. I'm not filing a report online because I want to know that something is going to be done about this. I had to do all the detective work because it's been four days and I can't get to file a report. Honestly I'd give nothing if I could, my experience with this precinct was horrible and I'll never forget it. I'd come in about a year and a half ago to report a stalking incident/ happening at my old complex, I wrote a statement (important) detailing that someone had left notes a few times on my car window that voiced a romantic interest in me. I ignored the notes for as long as I could but they became more frequent, so wanting to avoid an encounter, I texted the number and unfortunately opened a Pandora's box of sorts. After continued harassment my complex suggested going to the police and after telling my story I was promptly victim shamed by the deputies for texting the number the perpetrator given me. There was a severe lack of empathy for my situation and after surmising there wasn't much they could do without a suspect, they told me at point blank my statement would be shredded after I left. Shell shocked, embarrassed and utterly confused regarding everything I promptly left but not before filming myself in the parking lot as proof of me being there on that day. Serve and protect my ass, you sent away someone that could've been in imminent danger- my complex manager did more to protect me than these people. read more

I found that the people of this station really care for their fellow officers. My interaction was quick. concise and professional.

Had minor fender bender and LVMPD said they would not be sending anyone out as they didn't accident reports. Yet everywhere I read seems to indicate they do. Nonetheless its part of patrol officers job to do police and or accident reports. Happy that the rental car agency didn't pursue else I'd made a bigger stink on this one. If the PD can't do their full job then there should be some investigation into why that is and it should be addressed right away. One should not be able to simply pick and choose whar they feel like doing in a job where there are requirements to do certain functions. read more

ChopShop Vegas: Ewing tow company and the Police Dept are shady. How can a person not get their stolen truck back after filing a police report, then getting a letter/bill for $1500, calling the station and going up there with the filed report to show proof of the theft and ownership. Police found the truck 2 days after being reported missing, had it towed to Ewing and DID NOT CONTACT THE OWNER untill it was too late for the owner to get the truck out for a reasonable price. Then try and CHARGE HER $50 entry fee to recover her possessions out of the truck; but 'had a heart' to call the Station to see if a one time waiver can be grated. Not only that BUT also asking for her to sign over the title as she is picking up her things. Ewing and Las Vegas Police Station are dirty. If a civilian did as they did... that civilian would be charged. Do how does the LV PD and Ewing get away with it? read more

This isn't a review for how Metro doesn't seem to respond to crime in Summerlin, if they do at all (increasingly rare). It's a review for a visit to the Metro station on Cheyenne, where I had to go to fill out a report. I personally never keep cash at home, but my husband, who did just that until this event, had some lying around. Though not a huge amount, it was enough to make it grand larceny. Since his recent surgery, we've had home health care aides coming to the house, and one of them stole the money. Though we didn't see her take it, absolutely no one else had been here, and she had open access to the upstairs rooms where he barely hid it. Circumstantial, but a slam-dunk in our estimation. So I trotted off to the police precinct, where a sign told me to sign in at Window #4. Dutifully, I did, and then went to the seating area. And waited. And waited some more, for a good half-hour. Other people came in and did the same thing. Finally, when the fourth person signed up, a woman behind the bullet-proof glass came over and handed her a paper to fill out. Huh? What about the rest of us? I went back to Window #4 and asked if I should have gotten something to fill out, and she gave me one of those coveted papers. But when I asked why no one else had been attended to, the response was "Oh, we can't monitor everyone who comes in." So what is the point of that @#$%^&*(+ sign-in sheet?? Bureaucracy at its finest. Once I filled out the paper - which, by the way, asked for all kinds of identifying info for me: height, weight, color of eyes (but not blood type), as if I were the suspect - I didn't have to wait all that long. And the woman entering the case into the computer did spend a long time with me and seemed to do a thorough job. I left with my report, and the advice that a detective would contact me within 7-10 business days. But there will be no resolution: the company who hired this thief responded by firing US!!! That company will be the subject of my next review. read more

My Wife and I decided to take the 4WD out for a test drive and got stuck in a huge hole. It quickly became obvious that we weren't getting out without help and daylight was fading fast so we called AAA Premier Tow Service and to their credit, they arrived within the hour. BUT because I was documenting the entire ordeal on my phone via TikTok live, the AAA guy (Timothy) became furious and instructed the second driver to pack up and leave us. So they left us literally hanging on the edge of a huge hole in danger of rolling over and possibly dying. My wife was too terrified to exit the vehicle and darkness set in making the situation all the more dire. Out of nowhere, a Metro Police Cruiser shows up on the scene with officers J. Johnson P#15220 and M. Rose P#15212 who immediately handled this crisis professionally and promptly dispatched a tow truck which extracted us from danger all within a 30 minute timeframe. Thanks to these brave officers, my Wife and I (as well as our truck) are alive and well. Great Job guys and thanks to you, we will always back the blue!!! read more

I needed to dispose of some prescription medicine. After a search online, I learned that all Metro substations will accept medications. Since I needed to be near Ann Road for a volunteer project today, I decided to stop on my way home. I went to the window to sign in and when the woman went to help me, she showed me a green machine in the southeast corner of the building. You empty the bottles into a mailbox kind of opening. No bottles or caps go with the medication. In a brief time, I was on my way out. The woman waved to me as I left. Very convenient way of disposing medications no longer needed. I don't think it's necessary to sign in if all you're doing is what I did today. read more

First I want to thank the department for allowing candidates to do a tour of the detention facility this was an awesome experience for me. These is one of the few departments where officers are nice to potential candidates, and do not have a arrogant attitude. I took their written test twice, but unfortunately did not pass both times. But sometimes life is like this, I do not live in Las Vegas anymore so this job was not meant to be for me. I doubt that I would ever give a police department any less than 4 stars. Their job is tough enough protecting and serving. I am giving this Las Vegas Metro PD 5 stars because I have never had a bad experience here. First of all, I take a bite out of crime so my reason for visiting a police department is never a bad one for me. My visits here are usually a bad one for the Bad Guy, hah. This station is self explanatory...walk inside, sign in at Window 2 and then wait. Majority of the people that come here are registering their guns or to file some sort of complaint. I'm here usually to pick up a police report, file one, or drop off some evidence. My wait has never been bad, but at the same time, I know the best days and times to come in. Here we are right in the middle of a pandemic and Looting, riots,protesters,shootings!! And I get a knock at my door about 11:00pm, I didn't open my door because who comes knocking at 11:00 at night! Scary! So I look at my side window to see 2 policemen there! Ooohhh!! No mask on! Shocked! I asked what going on, can I help you? They said open the door! I said No!! Tell me why you are here? Again.. open the door! No I said again... I don't know if these are real police officers, and why were they on my front door at 11 pm at night.. Then they got upset so they just started to put their gloves on and demanded me to open the door.. so I called 911 and told them that there was two policeman demanding me to open the door I refuse I didn't know if they were real policeman because I have done nothing wrong and I didn't call them...and that I was scared! The 911 operator was no help! She said if you have nothing to hide to open the door! Omg! Really!?! Why should I? Because they are police man!? The non emergency line is absurd. I have called in several times to voice noise complaints and I remain on hold for 30+ minutes!!! If you plan to live in the Las Vegas area be advised that you will have to live and deal with non emergencies on your own without the help of the authorities. If you have a neighbor throwing a high school kegger party, blasting music to no avail at 1am in the morning, you better just suck it up and be open to loving the ear bleeding base and screaming. Las Vegas metro needs to address this issue and hire more dispatch officers. Such a shitty day... While visiting Vegas for my moms heart surgery she was hospitalized a few days later for lung issues. I originally thought I was on the right track to get there but lost confidence and decided to pull over and wait for my sister to call me and confirm the address. She sent me the address and the hospital name but somehow I selected the wrong location. Totally lost, and a tad bit confused as the hospital was supposed to be only a few blocks away from where I was staying, I held the home with the map up between 2-3pm in my right hand. I hear sirens on me and he pulls me over. No problem he will help me get there right? No nope not at all. Instead of listening he had a point to make about something I did not do (hold the phone directly in front of my view of traffic). When I told him I don't know where I am and I am trying to get to a hospital he politely ignored it to let me know I could not drive with the phone blocking my view. Not a problem, I don't agree I was doing that, but no problem. I'm trying to find this hospital. He then gets my license and registration and comes back and writes me a ticket saying I should have just listened to the directions on the phone and mounted my phone in a car that is not mine. We did discover a phone mount, but with in 2 seconds of driving off it fell. My case was too heavy for it. When I called my sister to let her know that I was being given a ticket she tried to also tell him i was on my way to the hospital and I noticed that he didn't pay attention to the hospital address or name to maybe say - hey that's not the right one you goofy driver, you way passed it. The streets I passed did not look familiar and I did not arrive to the right one. It would have been great or fine if he had given me a ticket and offered me help instead of polite condescending corrections and treating me like I could not be possible of something innocent. He was ready to ticket before anything when help would have made it a great encounter. However, I don't know Vegas cops well so I'm lucky I did not end up profiled worse. Not saying anything bad about the precinct but I hated having the benefit of the doubt removed when it was so easy to verify my situation. I arrived an hour late to my mom and missed the doctors I needed to speak to. Bravo on the polite condescending customer service... bravo! read more

Called the LVMPD cops at 2:30 am on a noise complaint because my neighbor's water was continuously running, and it was so loud I couldn't sleep. Finally fell asleep at 5 am. Woke up at 6:20 am, and the water was still running, but the cops never showed up, so I called again. They FINALLY came at 7:30 am, five hours after my first call. Terrible. Terrible. This is the precinct which covers my parents home. Because of advancing Alzheimer's, my Father has become increasingly combative; at times difficult for Mom to handle. Dad is a large man and can really (without realizing it) cause havoc and dangerous situations. Several times in the past few months officers have responded to my Mom's calls for help in calming Dad down. I have been there on a few of these occasions and the officers have responded quickly and compassionately. It is obvious they have extensive training and I've seen four different officers show extreme patience and kindness towards both of my parents in very touchy instances. My Dad knows what is happening to him, as the disease runs in his family. He is a very proud man, and I cannot imagine how terrifying this is for him. My folks have known each other since they were 9 & 10 years old: more than 60 years. I'm grateful beyond my ability to express for the officers diffusing conflict and confusion and for allowing my proud Father to maintain his dignity. People bash LVMPD all the time, when I was PIO at a disaster relief non profit I found the officers to be consummate professionals. Now, in times of personal need, I find them to be an invaluable asset to the community and am indebted to them for their assistance. read more

Was arrested by these guys. The officer was polite, handcuffs not too tight. Had some leg room.in the car. Booking wasn't too crowded at CCDC. Only complaint i had was the food. It wasn't the best jail food i had, especially since I've been arrested in numerous states and is quite accustomed to inmate food. I find it that smaller town have better food.hint hint. My living quarters wasn't so bad. Overall it was a good experience, however in jail.dining could use some improvements. read more

May 4th, during a situation in which I was falsely accused, officer Vietmeier, badge number 13825, and his partner that day, demonstrated such professionalism, kindness, compassion, and a true willingness to listen and understand the facts, without preconceived judgement (the true facts of the situation), during a situation which was quite distressing. My Dad was a Police Officer, my Sister is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, her son is an Air Force Military Police Officer, my Grandfather was a Police Officer. I realize how difficult the job can be and I appreciate an individual who truly tries to get to the facts and ensure justice. It is my sincere hope that one day, Officer Vietmeier, and his partner that day, will be promoted and go very far. We had two officers come to do a welfare check after my girlfriend and I got into an argument. She was down the street in her car and was having a tough time. A neighbor alerted metro and they came by to do a welfare check. I hate that most people don't see this side of the police department. To the two officers that came I want to say thank you.
