Everything, you need an appointment. Everything about this is stupid. Only when they get there they tell you that you need an appointment

It's been said in every review on google but here I am to say it again. This office doesn't give a…read morecrap about you. They don't want to help. Every interaction with every individual I met there was condescending, demeaning, and disrespectful. We applied for assistance at food finders after we explained our situation to the workers there. They helped us fill out our application. All was fine at that point. It's when we actually started interacting with the office that we were treated so poorly. For starters we were upfront from the start that we were looking for assistance for September rent. At no point did anyone tell us that we had to already be behind on rent to get assistance. We both lost our stable income and had a freeze on our checking account that had our rent money in it from what was already our emergency fund. We were both looking for new jobs and had multiple interviews but no one reached out to hire. At this point even if we got hired no paycheck would get to us intime to not get evicted. They simply don't care. Not only were we berated for trying to be proactive about our situation but when we asked what we could do they essentially said nothing. I told her my complex will start eviction proceedings on the 5th. She said "start your application on the 1st." But wait how are we're suppose to do that when she just told us we have to wait 30 days to apply again. I'm not just writing this review because I was denied. From the first phone call with this office I felt belittled and disrespected. She called to go over a check list with me but wasn't clear that's what she was doing. I asked her if I could call back the next day when I had the information she was requesting because I was under the impression she need the numbers and things over the phone and I didn't have it all infront of me as I was at work. She again was very rude told me "your the one delaying this process" all over a misunderstanding. From that one phone call I was discouraged but I stuck it out because we needed the help. The next day I called her back and understood were there was a miscommunication. We went over the check list and she asked us to come in to the office. That same day we went to get some paperwork and sign the required documents (less than an hour after the phone call) and she again berated me for not having all my documents ready at that moment. I told her I was trying to get in the office like she had asked on the phone to fill this out and she said "I'm more worried about you getting your documents in." I just don't understand. There were so many things we had to obtain for an application that took us the whole weekend to get together. But she expected us to have it in less than an hour. On top of it all it said in our online application that we did at food finders before all of this that we needed help with September rent. Like did they even read the application. My guess is no. They wasted our time, gave us false hope, let us scramble only to tell us after we gave them everything that we weren't even eligible for assistance. That even though we lost our jobs we predictably make too much money. There was no compassion. There was no understanding. There was no "I'm sorry." There was no other resources offered. There was nothing. They don't care if you need help from what I gathered they will find a reason that you're not worthy. They will make the entire process miserable and at the end you will leave feeling useless and defeated. I want to add that while we were standing there waiting for another lady to scan in the documents for our application the lady answering the phone was extremely rude and demeaning to someone else on the phone check on their application. She hung up on this person 3 times because she couldn't understand him or he took more than 2 seconds to respond to her question. I don't understand how you can be in the business of helping people but lack and compassion or basic human decency. The lady pictured was the primary person I spoke with and seems to be the one who handles the phones.
