Tours start every hour on the hour and last about 60 minutes. Call or check online for exact times as they change throughout the year. It's a very beautiful historic building, second oldest continuous use state capitol in the USA. The tour took us all over the building and was great. Free parking in the capitol garage. They also had a cafeteria there but we didn't try it. Worth a stop if you're in the area and have time.

Rumor has it that at night, during a full moon you can hear a woman softly crying. To my knowledge it has never been investigated by a paranormal guild but it should be. You can tour the lower floor but the structure is unsafe on the upper floor so no one is allowed there. It would be nice if the funds could be raised to restore it to it's former grandeur and become a true historical functionable building. Bristol Township should assist in that. The burnum the house is built on is excellent place for sledding in the winter & generations have gone there just for that. A real cool place.

However, the location in Trenton is a BREATH OF FREAKING FRESH AIR compared to the DMV of yesteryear ​and especially compared to the Bakers Basin branch a few minutes away. My bet is that more people head to Bakers Basin because of Trenton's reputation, and concerns about parking, and perhaps because they're up in Lawrence for inspections anyway. I've gone to the Trenton site for most of my transportation needs over the last decade, and have never had a serious issue. I've even gone at lunch, and on Saturday mornings, and the results are the same: a slight urge to poke my own eyes out, but with my renewed license or new plates or what-have-you in hand. Without too much time lost, and ultimately, without any long-lasting psychological (or physical!) damage. I "cheated" on this location once a few years back, thinking Bakers Basin would be more civilized. I was very wrong. Talk about miserable, unwashed masses. And that's the staff. They treated the constituency like sheep. People who were given wrong information were allowed to wait in line for hours, only to find out they were in the wrong spot, were simply abandoned to weep in the corner. I wasted an entire afternoon there once, and needed a week to recover. Unless you need to get your vehicle inspected, or take a road test, go to Trenton. Don't get me wrong: Trenton's MVC is not full of rainbows and cupcakes. But there are staffers stationed around the facility to help us make sure we have all of our paperwork in order before waiting in line. Announcements are made to remind people where to stand for what service. It's not too crowded. There are also signs requesting that people not disrobe or shave in the bathrooms, so you won't be inconvenienced by nudity or stubble in the johns, if you are brave enough to use the restroom (I am not that brave). Anyway, this is not a four-star establishment in the way a decent, but not over-the-top, restaurant is. It's a four-star establishment compared to its fancier brother up the road, and some of the others that I've been to over the years.

This US post office is okay. Majority of the time, they only have two people working behind the…read morecounter. Rare occasions, it's three people. They're friendly. The male staff who work there is friendlier. The line can get long, like most post office. They open 8am but don't open the door until 8:05am. Still go 10 minutes early since there are a few people waiting at the lobby for the door to open.

Maybe if they lease out a few of the offices to help defray the ever rising tariffs, but I kid of course. I remember when the township library was housed here, but as the collection of books expanded, a larger building was needed. A cynical person might say that this was also another ploy to increase taxes. You can also come here to get a passport or visa, pay your sewer bill( that somehow is not part of that already too high property tax bill) get building permits, and find out why your dbag neighbors are complaining about the length of your lawn. I imagine the mayor has a sweet office here as well, where she can come to get away from the stress of all those ribbon cuttings and photo ops. Now that I'm reflecting on all of this, I'm probably being generous with the third star.
