Governor Phil Murphys Office - Governor Murphys slimy investments

    Governor Phil Murphys Office

I'm all for safety first and keeping the wolf at the door so to speak but why have I been…read moreoverwhelmed by the feeling in the past several days that Phil Murphy seems far more intent on slow walking New Jersey's reopening and critical economic recovery in favor of the prospect of a Biden Bailout in January - a risk laden gambit, that according to progressive logic, will not only erase the economic carnage from the pandemic but dig the state out of our unrecoverable black hole of public sector pension obligations. New Jersey doesn't have a sub-junk bond rating and a last in the nation business climate for nothing and was on precarious financial footing long before Covid-19 came to town. Governor Murphy's no fool, he was a career plutocrat at Goldman Sachs long before he became our soft spoken healer-in-chief and fully understands the fiscal calamity he faces - a yawning debt that can only be made whole through massive federal intervention. Any pretense that populist half measures like a "millionaires tax" and sixty year bond maturities can right the ship of state are pure sophistry. So what's to be done considering that well-intentioned recommendations and soft encouragement seem to be backsliding as the virus appears to be gearing up for another run.. First, it seems beyond obvious that the governor must insist through executive order that everyone wear a mask outside of their home, revoke outside alcohol sales by restaurants and enforce social distancing and capacity limits through revocation of liquor or business licenses if that becomes necessary to curb the outwardly defiant. If certain populations believe their personal liberties will be compromised or they're at risk of becoming "sheep" at the hands of an overweening nanny state.... tough! I have great respect for the Founding Fathers but with life expectancy at 36 in 1776, their unique brand of rugged individualism may not be the best role model to emulate in a science-based crisis. I'm Libertarian by nature so the prospect of heavy-handed government intervention is repellent but the days of polite suggestions are over, New Jersey can't wait until January for federal intervention that may never happen. Too many lives and livelihoods may become collateral damage in the interim all in the name of overzealous caution. And frankly, if you're offended over the introduction of politics into Yelp because it's just rude to step on pleasantly non-partisan restaurant reviews and the like... well... if our economy doesn't open soon, all of our gauzy punditry and images of carrot cakes and cappuccino foam will just be polite anachronisms in very short order. Governor, it's time to pick a lane and fully open up the state with enforceable mandated behaviors - unless that strategy doesn't comport with the expectation of a President Biden and economic salvation from the US Treasury. Even in these grim times, it may just come down to politics as usual. In the meantime wear a mask and stop waving the Constitution unless you know what's in it.

Just called NJ UNemployment at 8:31am only to be told that due to high call volume , my call can't be answered today. Call back tomorrow. This is literally an every day message for the last 2 weeks. This governor and the whole system is a crowd of lazy mfs. High call volume one minute after 8:30 ?? What a damn joke. Fortunately, I haven't had to use the unemployment system for over 24 years , and I hope to never have to again. I feel for those who have children to feed after losing a job. I'm on just over a month with no unemployment as of yet. What a fuckin joke. Phil Murphy is a waste of a space POS.

However, the location in Trenton is a BREATH OF FREAKING FRESH AIR compared to the DMV of yesteryear and especially compared to the Bakers Basin branch a few minutes away. My bet is that more people head to Bakers Basin because of Trenton's reputation, and concerns about parking, and perhaps because they're up in Lawrence for inspections anyway. I've gone to the Trenton site for most of my transportation needs over the last decade, and have never had a serious issue. I've even gone at lunch, and on Saturday mornings, and the results are the same: a slight urge to poke my own eyes out, but with my renewed license or new plates or what-have-you in hand. Without too much time lost, and ultimately, without any long-lasting psychological (or physical!) damage. I "cheated" on this location once a few years back, thinking Bakers Basin would be more civilized. I was very wrong. Talk about miserable, unwashed masses. And that's the staff. They treated the constituency like sheep. People who were given wrong information were allowed to wait in line for hours, only to find out they were in the wrong spot, were simply abandoned to weep in the corner. I wasted an entire afternoon there once, and needed a week to recover. Unless you need to get your vehicle inspected, or take a road test, go to Trenton. Don't get me wrong: Trenton's MVC is not full of rainbows and cupcakes. But there are staffers stationed around the facility to help us make sure we have all of our paperwork in order before waiting in line. Announcements are made to remind people where to stand for what service. It's not too crowded. There are also signs requesting that people not disrobe or shave in the bathrooms, so you won't be inconvenienced by nudity or stubble in the johns, if you are brave enough to use the restroom (I am not that brave). Anyway, this is not a four-star establishment in the way a decent, but not over-the-top, restaurant is. It's a four-star establishment compared to its fancier brother up the road, and some of the others that I've been to over the years.

But seriously no hard feelings though it's just how we were brought up, if you got something on your mind here you say it. "Tell it like it is" should be the official State motto already. And no matter what part of this uniquely diverse State you live in, the fact is most people who call New Jersey their home have an unmistakable uncompromising pride in where it is they come from.    From the Shores to the Mountains and the Rivers, Lakes, and Ponds. To the Cities, Streets, and Valleys and Farmlands some call home. To it's Overcrowded Highways to it's Pinelands and Great Swamps. We love our State of Jersey for ALL that She has got.

When she mentioned getting married in her fiancé's aunt and uncles Jersey farmhouse, I was excited to finally visit outside of a train stop on the way to NYC from Philly. Though the roads in the countryside were scary with deer jumping out and some angry driver instances, I have to say I fell in love with the farmhouse and the views along with it in Flemington. Truly breathtaking and a beautiful backdrop for my friend's gothic-style wedding. I could do without the humidity in June though! Still a solid 5-star as the scenery was gorgeous!

If you are a plaintiff seeking justice for a wrong done to you, you will likely find a fair level of compensation for pain and suffering or breach of contract, and feel some satisfaction with your experience in the building. However, as a defendant it is more likely you will dread what this institution has done to you. All matters of social interactions that go sideways can find themselves being evaluated and judged here, although those that cross the criminal line will be heard and disposed of at the criminal courthouse a few blocks away. The four story hall of justice was originally designed for both civil and criminal cases and although less than 20 years old, legal conflicts have risen so fast that not only a second new building was needed just for the bad boys, and a third (the currently being renovated old courthouse annex) for the county prosecutor staff. The taxpayers can't be happy about that. There aren't enough judges to hear the cases that don't settle, so the wait for your day in court is often years after the events that began the long course to an uncertain outcome. It is frustrating and unpleasant, yet it is the system chosen to resolve conflicts with confrontations minimized. Oh, and the elevators are as slow as the slog to justice.
