I only go here once a year to request a hard copy of my 1099 tax form. I am a retired senior. I don't have a printer at home. I could go to my public library to print the copy, but no matter what I do, I can NEVER, NEVER, EVER get into my SS account online. Thank God, I only go here once a year to obtain a copy of my 1099; I need the 1099 to do my taxes (my accountant wants a hard copy). The Employees at this SS office are very courteous, professional and helpful. My only complaint is that the parking lot is small and parking can be a PITA. Parking is free. The social security office is located in a strip mall (there is a Subway and other small businesses here). It is the tallest building here, so you cannot miss the building. Go through revolving doors, take the elevator up to the SS office. When you step off the elevator, you will immediately see the SS office. There is a small computer on the left side located next to the security guard. YOU sign in electronically with your name and indicate the "reason" for your visit. Once you complete your electronic registration, a number is printed by the computer. Take the number with you. All numbers are listed on several TV screens (numbers are NOT listed in order). Your number is called (not your name), so PAY ATTENTION and make sure you are NOT wearing headphones, or YOU MIGHT miss your turn. read more

I originally arrived yesterday, my representative payee was on the phone. We had a scheduled appointment for today, in person. This has been going on for 2 years since I had a fall, brain surgery & a stroke. The guard & employees were wonderful, both days. Second day my representative payee was there in person, as was in person. Great service & progress made. Now just waiting for the debit card to come to my payee. This office makes no effort to assist hearing-impaired citizens. The Americans With Disabilities Act clearly includes those with Hearing impairment. They need to make better communication arrangements. read more

I'm trying to have a representative payee removed. The answer is different each time. I was told to gather my physician's email so that they can send her the appropriate form directly. I tried calling to avoid waiting in the office, was given the local office's phone number. After I stayed on the line for 19 minutes, the call just disconnected ! read more

This spot is in the business center so you need to take an elevator up to Suite 600. Came in for a name change on my SS card. I checked in and took a number. I had already prefilled my application which was not necessarry bc it took 45+ minutes before they even called me. I had all the necessary documentation so it only took the clerk (who was pleasant) ~5min to process my application. Now I just have to wait two weeks :/ FYI...You should allot at least an hour to take care of business. I came in on Monday around 10am and it was pretty full. Also they don't open til 9am and close at 4pm and are only open M-F, so the times are not convenient with normal business hours. Hopefully I don't have to go back for another 25 years. read more

Every time I have to go to a social security office i feel feel a deep visceral pain emanating throughout my body. Perhaps it's all those other times i've gone that have conditioned me to fear the very long lines, rude employees, lack of air conditioning, and an an environment that closely resembles a psyche ward. Shit, whenever i hear Rihanna's song "We fell in love in a hopeless place" I think of the social security office because that is just about as hopeless as you can get. I came here because I needed a new card. The one closer to my house closed, so I had to venture out to this one. Being in the city, I appreciate that this office has a parking lot and has hours longer than most other social security offices. It was also a bit smaller than other offices that i've been to. Despite me talking all that smack, my experience didn't suck as much as i thought it would. I was able to get out of there within 15 minutes which was quite surprising since it was full. The lady who helped me looked like she may have enjoyed working there? She was the nicest person i've ever talked to at a social security office, that's for sure. It's pretty clean there and the lights are extra bright. Hopefully i won't have to come back here until like...2036, but due to the lack of total suckage this place deserves an a-ok. read more

This place might be worse than the DMV but what to expect from a government building. Waited an hour and 35 minutes to finally get called to only being at one of their whack a mole windows for a minute and 35 seconds. Time frame seems proportional. read more

I don't like dealing with the government, Most people probably don't, When I went to this office I was pleasantly surprised. Victor is the security guard there. He opened the doors a little before 9am and assisted people in getting their numbers for the various services they needed. He assisted people in getting their paperwork and kept the numbers going. The woman I dealt with was also fine but she didn't mention her name. I was out of there within 20 minutes. This was the opposite experience of the one I had at the downtown office. When I was there, the guard didn't know which form I needed to file out, nor did he care, When I had asked the gentleman next to me how long he had been there he said two hours. That was when I made my exit. If you need to go to SSA, I recommend going here and going early. read more

Stay clear away from the younger Polish lady with blonde hair. She had me in tears literally. I initially went to the downtown office one the Day before. At which time I was told my Son's IEP would be acceptable along with other forms. I decided to go to the office closer to my house to save time. This Woman was on an authority kick and would not help me. I explain to her that my Son has autism so he goes to A Special School that doesn't require picture School ID. I asked her why she won't accept his IEP as it is a legal document and the other office said it would be find. Needless to say I took my paper work downtown and was approved... don't let them bully you. There's always grey area she just chose not to help!!! read more

My father died suddenly. A complete surprise. The first thing they tell you is to make sure you contact s.s. The 1-800 # we called was such a horrible experience that the phone call ended in f-you's flying around by me. The person on the phone would not repeat something my brother didn't understand. She just kept telling me he should of payed attention. So I was not looking forward to yesterday's visit. I kept asking God, Please give me some one nice. Or I think I'll get arrested. Boy, did I get someone nice alright. I think she was a saint. The most gentle human being I've ever met. M. Surynowicz is who helped me. I hope she works there fir a long time. And I hope she is acknowledged for her kindness. If you get the pleasure of working with her, she will make a horrible situation into one that feels like life can go on. read more

I had to go back three times to replace my daughters social security because their directions weren't entirely clear. I had a fast and easy visit to this office. I saw a ms. Hernandez and she was not only friendly she was quick and efficient. I have never had a good experience at a social security office so I was pleasantly suprised by this visit. I was in and out in less than an hour from when I arrived as well. read more

I am a representative of one of the minor ethnicities in the US. RecentIy I went there to get a new social security card, but after I came to this office, the security person who was an old man sitting by the door and helping everyone in front of me just refused to help me when my turn came. He kept ignoring me and he even was talking to some other man that "minorities in US must behave as Americans but in reality they are treated much better which means Americans are getting backwards, etc", i am not going to describe about everything which happened there due to some reasons, but still seriously, this man's actions seemed as a discrimination towards my ethnicity. I was very very upset! But the service overall by others was very good. read more
