Very good customer service, a reception area in the 21st century, 800 number is too long of waiting times.

The spots are well marked along the street in front of it but only a few places. The first right turn past the building is a cul-de-sac but you can use it to make a u-turn and whip into one of the open spots. The building gets crowded quickly and the line will run out the door. Get there early if you can. There is usually an expediter standing at the door helping people make sure they're in the right place and have what they need to get their task done that day.

Happily when I came the following day there were only 3-4 people in front of me and I was here for five minutes total from the time I parked my car until the time I got back in. Yes, they may close a window even if there are people here... but are employees not entitled to breaks, and should a business not comply with the law that requires employees to have specific rest periods? I'm not mad about that. Parking around the area may or may not be metered; I've only been to the Masonic Temple for meetings or this once to the clerk's office. There's parking on the west side of the building and the surrounding streets.

Most of the helpful information I also found online from other reviewers, so I wanted to also help out anyone in my situation! If you are looing for driver ID services, you absolutely must make an appointment. Additional day-of appointments open up at 6:30am every morning, and be careful to check online for DMV services closest to you. If you are only completing title and registration (like I was), you can proceed directly to the door marked "Vehicle Services" without any prior appointment. A reviewer online advised to go in the middle of the day to avoid the before and after work rush. There were maybe two or three people ahead of me who were quickly helped. I would advise getting most of the paperwork out of the way by using the DMV Electronic Registration and Title (ERT) System to complete and print an Application for Vehicle Transaction(s) (VSD 190) online. This will also take care of any tax documents you'll need in the process. The employee at the very front asked to see both my title and this tax document prior to heading to the revenue department in the back. Here, they took care of a few stamps, and I headed straight to audit. The audit section looked over my VSD and required documents (primarily my title and Driver's ID, but I brought my registration from out of state just in case). Everything checked out just fine! At the very end, I was sent to the cashier to pay for plates and a new sticker. I paid with card with a fee, but you can also write a check if you prefer to avoid the fee. The whole process was extremely straightforward. Just double check the website to ensure you have all the documents you need prior to heading in. Print all needed documents! From the parking lot to plates in hand, the whole process took maybe 30 minutes total. Highly recommend going in at off hours.

Your out of state Real ID - DOES NOT - count towards proof of citizenship. I kid you not! Bring everything you have so you don't have to come back twice. So I went to the post office to send back 4 of them. I went up to the counter & was informed that the return address requires a form for international mail as the return address is in Lithuania. I got out of line to fill out the proper form. When I went back after filling the proper form only to be informed that I had filled out the form incorrectly so I had to step out of line again to refill out the form. When I got back in line and they were ringing it up they told me it was $68? I'm like WTF? This translator has a lithium battery & was informed that the USPS can't send items w/lithium batteries. I'm like WTF? I received 5 translators through USPS but now they can't send them back because they have lithium batteries? I decided to check out UPS instead.
