When the video message came up and it was The President of the United States, I actually heard a few people sigh. The POTUS should be treated with the respect that the position deserves, no matter the political party they represent, especially at this event. What does this teach new Americans, definitely not respect for the country that they have just become citizens of nor respect for US law, order and government officials. Regardless of who the POTUS is, I would introduce him with all the respect this position deserves.

My family and I visited U.S.C.I.S. for a citizenship ceremony. We were among the last to arrive and the parking lot was nearly full. If you're visiting for one of these... arrive a few minutes early to allow time for parking! We were uncertain how many people each person could bring, but no one was counting. There were A LOT of family members in attendance, of all ages, and most people were very dressed up. We all had to go through a security check. There is a severe lack of information here! A small sign said to remove keys, wallet and another item, but in reality people removed belts and jewelry and purses. I watched a woman remove her shoes, but I was not asked to do so. I had to remove my son from his stroller in order to send it through the checkpoint. We just wanted to get inside. Allow extra time to get through security. We stood in two rooms - the initial room where all the about-to-be-citizens checked in and waited, and the ceremony room. Both were crowded with standing room only. In the ceremony room, guests were pressed together, and it was very difficult to move and keep children still. The room temperature heated up quickly, and parents trying to escape with crying children had trouble getting through the packed room to the exit door. I was impressed by the amount of countries represented during the ceremony: 32. A video about the immigration history in the U.S. brought tears to my eyes, I must admit. This was an emotional ceremony for many. In general, this building seemed modern and clean. Besides the gruff security staff, the other staff members were pretty friendly. The person who read through all of the ceremony info joked around and made us all laugh. I found it amusing that USCIS has a board listing the hashtags they'd like everyone to use! Photos were restricted inside the first waiting room, but were encouraged inside the ceremony room. Folks lingered afterwards to take pictures. There were several banners and areas for photo ops inside.

Second of all this has to be the worst housing authority I've come across- so bad that I ended up forfeiting my voucher!!! Riesa A Lowery the portability specialist as she calls herself is a cruel unfair heartless woman who could care less about anyone who isn't of her RACE! Now normally I wouldn't say such a thing but what she did to me needs to be known. She waited 48 days from when my packet was received to issue me an appointment and that was only after I had a social worker step in. She fails to answer calls or emails for weeks on end. When I got there it was a side show circus of the low of the low. We were all dragged into a classroom after being given recert packets that normally you get in the mail before the day of appointment- rushed to fill them out in front of about 13 families and were to pass our social security cards and licenses around a room full of people. We were then called one by one to the back of the room where everyone else could hear our business and was yelling and running in and out the door like this was a social club . All other families except mine were African American - I'm Caucasian my husband hispanic we had our child with us who had to see this nonsense- I was the first one in and the last one out. Many people didn't bring their required paperwork I however did- those who didn't caused some disruption causing everyone else to sit and listen to the screaming for 3.5 hours!!! By the time they got to me it was 4:28 and Riesa said she doesn't get paid a min past 4:30 so she told me to sign papers without reading them! As to say I received them!! and agreed to terms I never heard of before which is BS! Then for me questioning her as to how this isn't fair that I traveled so far and wasn't even really seen she gives me a $1000 voucher for a 2br when I'm supposed to get $1200 as per the website. Everyone else got the website amount but me. Then I asked if she was gonna reissue my voucher being I only had 12 days to find a place now and she said no. Mind u she was the one who wasted my voucher time by not telling me how much my voucher was before arrival and wasting 48 of my 60 days! She was very rude and disrespectful to me. In floridas market right now there is nothing for $1000! Unless u move to the "first 48" and plan to be robbed and killed. I told her I felt I was being treated unfairly and she didn't care she told me if I don't like it why don't I just give up my voucher and then I could do or go wherever I want. That's real professional! She told me that any packet I turned in to move she would deny if it was one dollar over $1000. She left me unable to find a place before returning 10 days later to my home state. She first approved all my income and papers and then turned around for me asking for her supervisors number and said now she wanted 6 months of bank and paypal statements which were hard to get without a computer and printer out of state! I had brought the requested 3 months with me. Needless to say even working with 3 real estate agents I found nothing! My voucher has run out now and still not one phone call or email from her! I'd advise not to port to this office! 10 years I had section 8 with no issues! I come here and basically lost my voucher in a weeks time!!! The place is dirty the staff are a bunch of inconsiderate people the supervisor could care less took 4 days for him to call me back! I reported this woman and this agency to HUD for investigation as to housing discrimination . I looked up ms Lowerys Facebook after my realtor brought it to my attention she's one racist lonely woman who has the nerve to look down on people who need help when she has an $8000 goal on a go fund me page for a trip to Orlando lol!!! I'm now on my own and idk what I'm gonna do. But I'm gonna fight till she no longer has a job! So much for trying to have a better life and build self sufficiency . I wasn't about to end up somewhere worse than where I came from when there are so many complexes in nice places that would have took my voucher IF she gave the right amount! What she gave me is equivalent to a 1br and we have a 9 year old son! Go elsewhere trust me or u may risk ending up losing your housing for real!!!

Title: Terrible Experience -- Complete Lack of Organization and Misinformation…read more I visited Robert Weissman's Palm Beach County Government Center (301 North Olive Ave, 1st Floor, West Palm Beach, FL 33401) for a driver's license appointment, and the service was absolutely unacceptable. I scheduled my appointment carefully, made sure I had all my documents in order, and confirmed details about my visit. I was clearly misinformed by staff: I was told I could come back to change my Florida Title appointment to a license appointment. However, when I returned, I was denied service -- the supervisor said no, explaining that adding or changing services was not allowed, only adding a license on a title appointment. This left me frustrated, confused, and forced to reschedule an entirely new process. The wait times are awful -- even with an appointment, expect at least an hour. Staff appeared completely overwhelmed and unprepared. Some clerks were emotional and crying at their desks, and the person assisting me seemed barely capable of keeping things together. The supervisor, Junior, offered minimal help despite the clear misinformation I received. To add insult to injury, parking costs money unless you're willing to walk 15 minutes. Overall, this location demonstrates poor management, disorganization, and a lack of customer service. I would not recommend anyone use this office for driver's license or DMV services.

At 9:30 I was called to the 10th floor Judge Sherry Collins' courtroom. From the 10th floor, I had a view of the Palm Beach County Museum, intercostal, bridges, marina, and the Breakers. I am on a jury & have an hour break for lunch. Unfortunately, I'm back on the huge line wrapping around the courthouse to go through the metal detectors.
