During Memorial Day weekend, we headed to Peanut Island for some sunshine on a good ole boat day…read more In true Florida fashion, a storm was rolling in and so we figured best to head out.... as did everyone else. As we were departing, we got started initially but then ran into some engine trouble. PBSO (specifically Everett B Lerner) pulled up to make sure we were aware we were drifting into the channel. When they realized what was going on, they tied us off to their boat and pulled us out of the way. They simply could have said to throw the anchor and left it at that, but instead they stayed with us as we were waiting for our tow and even walked us through some additional problem solving to see if we might be able to work it out without a tow (which at that point was at least an hour wait), which low & behold, we did! On an incredibly busy holiday weekend, when PBSO likely had to deal with many idiots & headaches on the water, it would have been understandable for them to be curt & frustrated with us adding to the chaos of the waterway. Instead, we were met with kindness, patience, understanding & valuable help. Never thought I'd be leaving a review for a police department but Everett deserved proper acknowledgment!

I don't get it, you see 3 police motorcycle off the road it's an automatic indication to EVERYONE to slow down as if it was a school zone. For this woman to not be able to slow down and hit them she for sure was texting and driving or not looking at the road. I hope she goes to jail for manslaughter for this and her driving privileges get taken from her. One thing is an accident but another is driving so fast off the road that you can't stop on time. No excuse. Tonight 3 families don't have their loved ones home! The unity for the fallen angels was patriotic and heartwarming. Regardless which dept the officers belong to they are all a family when wearing a badge. Prayers for those families and prayers for recovery for the one still in ICU. This made me cry today because I wouldn't know what to do myself. PLEASE respect the roads. Do NOT text and drive. When you see emergency vehicles on the side of the road YOU SLOW DOWN UNTIL YOU PASS THEM! May God give those families strength.

There is a $10.00 fee for beach parking during season and weekends. Free to walk in or bicycle into. The town of Ocean Ridge has their own political community and there are beautiful new McMansions as well as small, old condos where people rent seasonally. The houses are unique in external features which makes taking a drive along A1A very interesting. There are a few pedestrian cross walks where by law, the pedestrian has right of was and all traffic must stop. I still look both ways and make sure the traffic stops because I never know who is not paying attention. The town of Ocean Ridge is not commercialized in the way of shopping and dining. There are no chain restaurants or strip shopping centers. It is really just a little sleepy town where you either reside or use it as a drive through between Manalapan and Delray.

I was struck repeatedly while I was on the phone with U-Haul, seeking a replacement after the mover refused to complete a job that was fully prepaid. I calmly informed him multiple times (approximately 4-6 times) that there was no issue between us, and that if he would not perform the work, he could simply leave and I would arrange for another provider. While I was still on the phone with U-Haul, the mover suddenly punched me in the face--including my right ear and nose--and forcibly snatched a gold chain cross from my neck. This left me with bleeding scratch marks and multiple injuries. I have pictures of him holding my gold cross and chain. My wife recorded video evidence of the assault while I was on the phone, and we also took photos showing that I was on the phone when he repeatedly struck, the visible wounds, and the perpetrator holding my stolen gold cross and chain. I called the Delray Beach police when officers arrived, they appeared to be intimidated by the perpetrator, I later found out that he has prior criminal records for assaulting a police officer. They appeared to me as incompetent and inexperienced. They saw cuts and scratches on my face and neck. I also showed them pictures of the perp holding my gold cross and chain which he violently snatched from my neck causing bleeding wounds. They appeared somehow intimidated by the aggressor. One officer was mocking me and my wife while I was sitting on the floor dizzy and bleeding. He called me a liar! When I asked for a supervisor, I found out that one was standing on the side being passive. When I asked for his help, the young sarcastic officer was disrespecting the surgent and answering for him and talking over him. When I pointed this out to the surgent he yelled at the officer and asked him to move back away from the scene. But then the surgent said that I "just lost a fight". Between an old man and a young criminal with prior assault records on a police officer. They even advised the mover that he could press charges against me if I chose to file charges against him, and the mover requested the police to ask me not to press charges. Despite my injuries, the police declined to arrest or charge him at the scene, stating that the matter would be referred to the State Attorney's Office. I provided photos as evidence to the police investigation unit, and they also documented my wounds. Immediately after the incident, I sought medical attention at the emergency room, where my injuries and concussion were treated and reported. The police, showing apparent bias, warned me that the video evidence could be interpreted as me attempting to punch the assailant. Sadly, the Delray Beach Police failed to protect an old man after being physically assaulted and injured by a young perpetrator ith prior criminal records for assualting a police officer. The only and one thing they supposedly pride themselves for is to "Serve and Protect" they failed to provide. Is not this what we pay taxes and pay their salary for?

I always wave at them because they are so nice and friendly. Even though some are young, they are a such a good looking bunch & I just love men in uniform, haha!!! Two years ago I had to be at work at 7ish on a Saturday morning to do an audit. I'm early for just about everything, so I am guessing it was about 6:30am when a very handsome policeman pulled me over. I didn't really do anything wrong & he was so friendly and helpful. As we said our goodbyes I told him I would give him a five star review, but he wasn't familiar with Yelp. So, like the good Yelper I am, I went into a five minute spiel about Yelp, being Elite, events, blah, blah, blah. Much to my surprise he didn't seem very interested. How can anyone not be interested in Yelp? I just didn't understand, so I continued to talk about it and he told me to be careful & just go to work. I did feel like I was being dismissed, but maybe he wanted to fight crime instead of hearing about how great Yelp is, I really don't know. A few years ago I had an incident with a local business owner. The Boca police were wonderful, in fact they stopped by his business the very next day. Again, excellent customer service. I'm telling you, these officers are awesome! I am grateful to the Boca police department for always being there when we need them and also for keeping our community safe. Thank you!!!
