We made an appointment here ahead of time to renew our children's passports. We parked on the street just past the building. There is a small raised concrete wall along the walkway that my kids found fun to walk on top of. I was a bit unnerved by the metal detector and conveyor belt. I didn't see any signage saying what to do besides to wait at a certain point, so when I was asked to remove my cell phone and keys from within my giant purse, I felt frustrated to have to dig these out with my kids already passed through to the other side. But, hey this forced me to reorganize my purse afterwards LOL. This courthouse is beautiful inside, architecturally, and quiet, clean, pleasant. Once past the police part, the rest was quite calm. Apparently they hold your appointment for up to an hour, but I doubt I will ever remember that the next time I ever need to do this again! The waiting room was fairly empty, although we had taken the first available appointment booked weeks beforehand. I didn't realize they also take passport pictures here, but I'm glad I brought my own, which weren't even cut yet. Note to self: bringing scissors to cut your passport photos with might seem logical, but apparently scissors are not allowed to be brought inside county courthouses. However, despite this mishap, I was glad to already have pictures with me, as this meant when they called our number we were able to go directly to the real office to do all the signing and paying right away, instead of waiting in a line to get pictures taken, where all the other passport people went except for us. The person who came to get all the passport folks from the main reception area seemed very confused- talking over us, trying to move us to the 'get pictures' room, and not being informative at all. But eventually she got us to the right place, though this seemed strange when all the other parts of the experience was extremely orderly and well-explained. The main receptionist was very kind and helpful. The person who processed our papers was great - and the process went faster than I had ever imagined it could. To the security person who removed my scissors from my passport folder as if it was a crime scene specimen, I hope this brought a chuckle to your day in the end. You're welcome. read more

This courthouse is run very efficiently from the little bit I've seen. I have been there twice. It is very easy to find and has a parking garage directly across the street from the entrance. I was there to have some HOA papers recorded. Everyone is sent to a specific window where they are given a number and told to sit down and wait to be called. Different windows are used for different types of records. The waiting area is large and has plenty of seating. Both times I was called within 10 minutes. My papers were dealt with fairly quickly - all in all not a bad experience. The reason for only 4 stars is that both times, the clerks acted as though I was bothering them. There were no smiles or welcome greetings - it seems as if they really dislike their jobs (or just dislike people). As I said, they did the job required but treated me as a number rather than as a patron. read more

We had the most pleasant experience here getting out teen daughter her passport renewed (it had been expired). The only issue I had was going through the metal detector (I don't know why I always beep! No metal on me. You can park right next door at the library as well.) We tried to fill out everything before hand (we had to re do a few of the papers). We got here early around 9 a.m. (if your child is under 16 you get a passport for 5 years instead of 10 and both parents have to be with her). We were taken quite quickly at the first window - got our #. Waited less than 5 minutes and then had our # called at the window to process her passport. The employee couldn't have been nicer and more helpful! We had our checks ready to go (One of the passport and one for the Clerk's office - if you use credit card you pay an additional 3.5%. ). It will be to us within 6 weeks. (She is traveling this summer overseas). It was so easy, we were all so very pleased. And at their window, it tells you the steps you need to do (What checks to write and all). And she wished my daughter a good trip! read more

Ive been here twice due to a traffic citation and although its a long way from home, this has to be one of the better courthouses in South Florida. Its always surprisingly empty as far as traffic except the traffic division. What I like is that they have 23 windows ready to help individuals and moving the lines along. Definitely not what I'm use to at Broward Courthouse-South. They have 6 windows and only 2 workers. SMH. They have comfy chairs in the middle if the room for your convenience. The security personnels are just the cutest and nicest elderly men! Made my day with their jokes. Oh! Before I forget, they have a passport division on site. I never knew this place existed nor had I ever come here until recently when I had to file a notice of commencement (NOC) for a renovation project at my Home. I've been here twice so I'm now qualified to review them. More than qualified. The people who work here work for you, if you live in Palm Beach, and pay taxes. They have stabile jobs with extensive benefits. They work indoors in nice air conditioned offices. Yes their jobs may be monotonous. Yes they may be asked a lot of questions. Yes some of the questions are dumb. Yes some people they deal with may annoy them. Yes they likely wish they were somewhere else, it happens to many of us. Many of them are rude or abrupt or curt or just come across as being annoyed when you ask a simple question cause after all you don't work there so you don't know the answers, but they do. They get PAID for answering your questions. They perform a service. To YOU. A lot of them should watch Mr Rogers Neighborhood. They can stream it on Amazon. They need to learn about being nice. If nice is too much, how about pleasant. If pleasant is too much how about just civil. Oh maybe they don't know that either. Management should offer courses in customer service. Reviews should be based on performance and attitude. And the security guards could smile a bit. Just a little. And if they are tired of repeating the same thing to every one who comes in then maybe they should look for another job. No one is forcing them to work there. So if you got the idea I wasn't impressed with the attitude of these people you got the right idea. A long time ago, in my first year of college, I took a course in sociology and the professor lectured on "role disdain". It's quite interesting. An example of role disdain is when you get on a bus and ask the driver "do you stop at 63rd and Madison" and the driver barks some answer like "read the sign" or ignores you as he pulls away from the curb. They don't like their jobs. They take it out on the people they interact with. They are nasty. So bottom line you gotta deal with them but be prepared for those surly faces and snappy answers and control yourself and don't snap back or smack them cause Mr Rogers would say that's not being nice and you should be nice to everyone in your neighborhood even if they are not nice toward you. read more

I'm very surprised to say that this experience was actually delightful... I came in because I had to pay A ticket, but had gotten a letter in the mail stating my license was to be suspended yesterday... I work 6 days a week and it's very difficult for me to take care of things like this during the day... Violet at the Clerk of Court in Delray Beach at the courthouse off of Atlantic was great!! Unlike some of my other experiences she make me feel warm and welcome in a place where it's very uncomfortable... Violent deserve a promotion!! I was here to take care of an error made by the county for not clearing a ticket that i had paid. Had to go through a long security line which was annoying considering that i wasnt even going into a courtroom. Once in, i ended up waiting 2 hours for my number to be called. Then, the lady was rude. I guess you dont have to apologize for your mistakes when you are the government. read more

What a beautiful courthouse. A far cry from my normal stomping grounds in Broward. The Clerks here are extremely nice and helpful and the courtrooms are beautiful. Came here in hopes of getting my passport renewed without having to spend my entire day off waiting to be called but luckily it was quicker than I expected! I was worried since I wasn't an early bird I wasn't going to get my worm! Luckily I came in around 11am and left by 11:45! Not as many lines or traffic as at courthouses in Miami where I normally go. Went to get a new passport. Was told to fill the paperwork out in Black pen. Asked a woman who works their by the name Melissa to use a pen to full out the application. She told me You know where you can find a Black Pen? I said where? She said you can go find a Black pen at home! I was actually shocked that someone working their would be so rude. So I got her manager. The manager could of cared less also. Place is a joke and extremely unprofessional. read more
