I received a call on a Saturday morning at 8:30 am and the call came up scam likely when I answered the phone the lady says she was from the SSA office and asked me for my social. I explained to her that the call came up scam likely and the instructions from the Social Security office says do not share your social with people that can't be identified. I tried calling the number where the call came from and it was not a working number. So i called into the SSA office on Monday and discovered that that call came from one of their workers named Ms. Garcia and she was upset with me for not giving my social to the scam likely caller. She closed my case without giving me a call back on Monday. Now she refuses to answer my calls or return my calls. In hindsight I'm not giving my SSN to a stranger with scam likely on the caller ID. It's time to elevate this to managers that enforces the rules vs get in their feelings because I would not comply with a potential scammer. read more

This place is so rude. I talked to 2 of the advisors on the phone , they were rude and they never let me explain my situation and told me that my daughter had to drive herself and to speak for herself and she is fully handicapped. She doesn't understand anything, I have to speak for her. I was flabbergasted. I was beyond words how they treat people, they don't know. I don't know what to say. I am a parent of a handicapped child. I have to do everything for her. She has to come first. Please fix this phone service and customer service staff. 3x I was put on hold and hung up on. Tried a different approach and sat on hold. Never got through. I'm on hold with another state and they say how long I will be waiting and update that info ever few minutes. This other state has an amazing system. I don't usually write reviews however, my visit to this office was such a great experience. Yes, there was a little bit of wait but it was expected. From the moment we got there the security guards were very nice and polite. But the best part of all was the kind, efficient and professional service from the Officer Mr. Gonzales. He took the time to help my parents and process their applications and he kept telling us that he apologizes for long process (he had to put a lot info in the system). This is the first time in my life that I get such a great services in a Government Agency and I strongly recommend to anyone to go there for your needs even if you have to drive one hour like I did. read more

The Social Security Offices need to be open for business now. I have been trying to add my married name to and get a new card . My drivers license is now expired because I did not have a social security card with my married name. In order to get a new card via mail , I would need to mail in a certified marriage license, no problem , my original social security card, no problem, and a valid identification, problem. Because my license is expired I would have to mail in my Passport as identification. I am not comfortable relinquishing my only legal form of identification. Please reopen soon ! One of the best experiences I have had at a Social Security Administration office. It was busy (but that is expected), but from the moment I arrived, the security officer welcomed everyone, then I went through the metal detector and the 2 security officers were extremely respectively and welcoming to everyone. Then, the wait was decent and the Field Office Manager (DAV) was very nice to me and extremely efficient. I usually don't have a good experience at SSA offices but this one was stellar. read more

It's a SS office so I didn't have high expectations but I needed to make a trip there in order to start the task of changing my maiden name over to my new last name. Upon entering there is a metal detector-which is a good thing. I always keep a bottle of water in my purse and when the guard saw it, he pointed to the "no food or beverage" sign. He was so rude about and said "can you not read"..... Just rude. As far as the name change process, surprisingly it was painless. I waited about 20 minutes and was out of there in less than 30 (mind you I came prepared and had all the necessary paperwork and documentation). I held on the phone for 2 hours only to be told to call the local office. They don't answer the phone so I went and waited 2 hours only to be told the person two windows down is your caseworker. No you can't talk to her, call her and she will call you back. Multiple calls and no call back. I was told to ask for a supervisor but there is no option to speak with anyone. This is government at its finest. As I sit there the guard has his feet on the desk while he plays on his phone. No one is watching the security camera. The second guard is also on his phone. I am sorry is this a social security office or an airport? The security there is ridiculous, and the wait time you van forget about it. Can't bringing any water, food, lighters or metals. Expecting a long wait time, I came prepared with coffee and a book. The security guy made me chug my coffee outside because of the no liquids rule, then gave me a hard time about "bringing so much stuff." I waited 3 hours and read my book. Despite the rudeness of the security people, by the time I got to see someone, they were very friendly and helpful. read more

If I could give no stars I would I've been having so many issues since my daughter was born last July trying to get her Social Security card and birth certificate the hospital said it was gonna be mailed to me within three months were seven months now and the office is no help. They won't even allow me to go into the office unless I called the number provided and set up an appointment every time I call it says it's busy and then ends itself. I show up to try to speak with someone I'm very rudely pushed away and have no way to get my daughters information nor file for my taxes. I'm a single mother who is struggling financially and it seems like nothing I do works I have all the correct information I need to receive it but every time I get to that slight conversation of trying to get it done they make up some sort of excuse and push me out the door. I understand Covid is relevant but I've been trying and trying and doing as I'm told and I have yet to be helped I really hope someone can please contact me from me making and reporting this on Yelp. Worthless! I called 2 times and put on hold for 38 mins and 42 mins. Then hung up on cause I asked for someone who spoke English. When I got someone on the phone they were very rude. A Spanish man who could kinda speak English. Refused to listen to me, over talked me and did not help me at all. read more
