They won't give you the notice of appraised value with ifile numbers unless you ask for the manager. They also will question if you are the owner of the property. I doubt anyone would want to go in to talk with these people for fun. Last year, our experience protesting our appraised value was ok. They make it difficult on purpose so you don't save on taxes, just expect to spend a few hours waiting before your hearing. We saved almost 4k on our taxes last year by going through their hassle.

Speaking from previous experience with other police officers from other counties, it was a pretty pleasant experience considering that I was going to jail. It's amazing, you would never expect that if you speak to police officers with respect and courtesy, that they might actually show you the same. Anyways, I had to put a review on here because I was surprised on how friendly everybody was. I would have gave it five stars except for the fact that I didn't get any lunch (I got out after only a couple of hours around noon), and the fact that as friendly as they were, I was still in jail. This new nation wide law went into effect May 7, 2025. So thankful that Texas has been doing this for some years now. As long as you have the gold Star on your state ID/ driver's license you're also acceptable as a dual card for "Real ID" for travel purposes.
