Unfortunately I had to use the restroom, it was DISGUSTING, I had to stand in another persons pee puddle under the urinal to use the bathroom. The smell of urine was clear out to the water fountains. The bathrooms and bathroom access looked like the entrance to a crack house. See pics. Inside the store, aisles were wrecked, product thrown everywhere. I was potentially interested in buying a rug but there were no prices on the items, searched vigorously and couldn't find. What a crazy experience, there's absolutely nothing I couldn't have purchased from Amazon and had on my porch next day from this store. What kind of psychopath searches through a nasty store like this, stands in line and pays double for the same Chinese items. I took note of the rug I liked, found on Amazon for half price and had it at my house next day.

I hesitate to call Spruce an interior design store, because it's much more than that. On my visit, I was totally taken with their selection of adorable and unconventional stuffed animals. I picked up a sea foam green latticework pendant necklace. It reminds me a bit of a lawn chair. So, a big thank you to the person who suggested that I check out Spruce. It has grown over the years, I can remember when it was half the space and that was for combined PB/Williams Sonoma, and Hold Everything. It is surprising to look around my house and realize how many things were purchased at this outlet, and almost all of them on a super-closeout ultra special deal. Some might say I'm cheap, and I'd agree, but I also love nice things. Many, many years ago I saw the apothecary table from PB on an episode of "Friends," and thought it interesting and little more. Then imagine my surprise probably 10 years ago (quite awhile ago at least, don't quote me on timing) when hubby and I visited and saw a slew of apothecary tables on super sale for $49-$79... don't remember precisely, but seriously only two digits in the price. We've bought lamps, pillows, home accents, window treatments, light fixtures, vanity mirrors, lots of stuff over the years. This past weekend we visited and the deal I couldn't pass up was from the PB Kids collection, adorable retro shaped lunch boxes for some young ones on our Christmas list for $7. Seriously, so cute. I also grabbed a great looking travel cosmetic bag set for an older cousin who is in college, and we bought a couple of great nostalgic metal Christmas ornaments. This is a great store that I dub 4 out of 5 stars because it can be hit or miss if there's not a special sale going on. Remmber, I'm cheap and this is Pottery Barn. You can tell from the moment you enter that their attention to detail is even more on display in this shop. Once you get past that you are seemingly in an industrial park in odd location and enter inside, the creative, serene space comes alive! A shipping container serves as an impromptu dining room which is so intriguing and appealing! There are beautiful, uniquely curated chandeliers and lamps everywhere. Gorgeous sofas and enveloping chairs in calm & dreamy palettes. Beautiful bed lines in luxurious fabrics. Hearty dining room tables and rustic chairs to accompany them. Memphis is sorely lacking in quality home furniture. The Back Room certainly fills an underserved niche. The people working there seem glad to be there and are happy to help coordinate a look that works. Even the bathrooms are pure luxury with deeply hued walls, huge iron rimmed mirrors juxtaposed with soft lighting. And, it's all for sale! It's a lovely experience.
