My friends and I stumbled upon this antique shop while walking around midtown. It is a huge, three story space with every inch filled. I am a frequent antique shop goer and this one was pretty impressive. There was so much history in the building, let alone the structure itself. I live in Austin, TX where most antique shops are odds and ends. This one had more structural items like windows, doors, and moldings. As we walked through, we could feel the history of the items. It definitely had that southern Memphis feel that made you feel pride for the area in which they were taken. My only complaint is that everything seemed to be way overpriced. They likely went to a historic house in the area and gutted it. Then are trying to piece out everything for a hefty price. That being said, it is still worth going just to look at all the pieces. If anything, it was almost like walking through a museum of preserved pieces.

If anything architectural is missing from your midtown home, chances are it's wound up at South Front Antiques. The three-story shop is full of light fixtures, windows, mantles, claw foot bathtubs, furniture and hardware. The basement is almost entirely filled with doors that are sort of filed standing up. It's the sort of shop where great finds are lurking around every corner. Just be careful - if you look around the same corner I did, you'll come face to face with a wall full of very angry-looking mounted deer heads. South Front Antiques has been open for more than 30 years, which means that they've amassed quite a collection of stuff. There are some really unique things there, like a pinball machine, a bear skin rug, more random disembodied antlers than I've ever seen in one place, and a book called, presumptuously, "The Greatest Book Ever Written" (only $2).

Three floors of salvage. Windows, doors, if you need something for your old house it's here. Prices are fair.

Cool little Flea Market type place where the people selling the things just leave it there and have…read morethe people (the owners I assume) sell it for them for a cut of the profit, I guess. You can find anything from frozen vittles to threads to tractor signs to junk craft stuff to furniture to llamas and beyond. I bet you could find nine "live, laugh, love" signs here. I'm not sure how any of this works really. I just walk around with my wife and agree with her judgement on things. I make sounds and stuff. She comes here a lot without me too I think. She buys things for the kids all of the time. Recently, she found a dresser here for my Grands nursery. She told my kid about it and kid came to check it out and it was gone. Kid found it at another place like this in Collierville for like $250 more than it was here. The exact same one! Crazy thing is.... They bought it! I never thought of flipping things from a place like this, but I guess you can always find a suc... buyer for anything. One man's trash is another man's treasure, they say. Anyone in the market for a LLL sign?? '24 - 11/100

Clothes are marked up considerably and due to shipping and tarrifs maybe but it's more than sticker shock. The items are somewhat different in that every vendor is the same with same merchanise which is good. They also do not have too many fragances, oils, candles, etc. In most vendor markets so that was refreshing but that prices are enough to keep coming quarterly!
