Had three kids go through their early years with Coach Jaime, they ALL loved him as a coach and had SO much fun. Our kids aren't the most athletic or competitive but there is room for every child to have fun and be successful with Coach Jaime. And I don't know how he gets to know all the kids' names so quickly, but he does! Unfortunately this isn't what I expected. My daughter loves to play I enrolled her at 2.5 and now she's 3! She's a child. I had to take her out because all I would hear is her name Constantly being called out for wanting to play yet other kids who did the same but were of their choice of people didn't get constantly called on for their miss behavior. Last season there was a child who would hit my child constantly yet never once did he ever get called out for. In their website it says "fun" non competitive yet this is far from it. They do the same repetitive "games" each season. read more

We chose the kids' first soccer experience based on Yelp and advice from fellow moms. I'm so glad we trusted them! Coach Jaime (& his assistant, Jessie) are the real deal. Jaime makes learning the fundamentals so fun for kids this age. It's amazing how creative he is in teaching them the game. My kids don't even realize every game is teaching them something important. They are too busy laughing and having a blast. Jaime and Jessie are patient, understanding and they get kids 100%. I'm really surprised there's no more great reviews for this class. My 3 almost 4y old just finished his 1st season and he's already enrolled for his second one with the 4 year old group. My son has played soccer for 2 seasons with Little Rascalz in Carmel Valley. He loved it and had the best time. The 3rd season I decided to switch him to Soccer Kids in Del Sur only because it was closer to our house. Unfortunately, it was pretty bad. Coach Jamie would tell long elaborate stories, which isn't something you should do with toddlers that have a short attention span. He would tell the toddlers to run back and forth between cones within his elaborate story. My son and some of the other toddlers didn't understand what to do because they got lost within the story and ended up wandering around. He hardly ever used a soccer goal, which was odd. My son was so bored, so I stopped taking him. There's money flushed down the toilet. I signed him back up with Little Rascalz. It's worth the drive and my son loves it. read more

We have done two separate sessions of SoccerKids (Spring 2012 and Summer 2013) and loved it. During the summer session my 5 year old son had so much fun with Coach Jaime (we did their TeeBall class too). The technique used was fun and informative. This is a great program. The coach really knows how to practice skills while making it fun for the kids. We have tried two other soccer programs, and one is similar to soccerkids but much more expensive and the other program relied on parent volunteers as coaches, which was a waste of time. I can't believe there aren't several reviews on SoccerKids already! This program is fantastic. My son first enjoyed a session with Coach Lauren in 2012 when SoccerKids first arrived in San Diego, already having classes in the San Francisco/Bay area. Before Soccer Kids, my then-4yr old was hating soccer - he was the kiddo who on day 1 was standing, crying in the middle of the field yelling, "I HATE soccer!" Literally. (while playing games on Saturdays with the YMCA). But from day 1, He LOVED Soccer Kids. Coach Lauren keeps those kiddos so motivated, teaching them real skills while playing creative games that have them dribbling, passing, shooting, scoring and cheering each other on. By the time it was the end of my son's YMCA season (where they never had time to teach skills; only played with no idea of how to actually game play), parents were asking how he became such a go-getter. He knew what he was doing and he loved the game. I can't sing Lauren's praises enough. They also regularly put out deals on plumdistrict/livingsocial and/or offer promos for current students to re-enroll. Looking forward to the Spring season! read more

My 3 year old son played with Soccer Kids for 3 seasons, 2 of which were with Coach Jaime. He is very energetic and quite funny in his way of teaching soccer. Here's my favorite story though. My son ran to take a power kick at the goal, but his foot missed the ball and he fell on his bum and the wind got knocked out of him. Jaime was right there, helped him up and encouraged him to be in charge of the ball. He and my son said, "I'm the boss of you, ball". The tears were inevitable, though an my son ran off the field for a hug and that was ok, but it didn't take long for him to run back on the field. read more

After a disappointing experience with another program I signed my kids up for Soccerkids. This is an amazing program for kids to learn the skills of soccer in a fun and playful way. We did the 6-week summer session for Teeball for 3-4 year olds. Coach Jaime was great with all the kids-- funny and engaging, he was able to draw out even the shy kids. He teaches basic skills (methods of throwing, running the bases, batting, catching, and safe/out) through a series of age appropriate games that they can build on each week. This program is so great! My daughter played both tball and soccer with Coach Jamie and gained so many skills and so much confidence. What an incredibly positive experience! I tell all moms I know to start their kids with Coach Jamie before throwing them into competitive soccer or tball. You can't erase a negative athletic experience. Coach Jamie is fantastic! My kids fell in love with soccer because of his teaching style and his ability to relate to children. Best soccer program we've done yet. We tried other group classes and my boys were bored and not engaged. This was a completely different experience. On the last day, even the parents get to play against the kids. We had kids in the 3.5/4 yo class and the 5-6yo old class. Coach Jamie was able to differentiate his teaching style to match the skill level for each age group. LOVE soccer kids!
