Coach Brooks and Coach Zora introduced our kid to lots of fun activities such as building forts, tide pooling, building and flying kites, hiking the slot at Annie's Canyon, and even encountering rattlesnakes. Anyways aside from Master Aguilars Moments Of Wisdom, I will call them, I began to see my son needing a closer role model. So we began the beginners class, both of us. My son is loving it and he's gone up 2 belts and almost going on a third. He is using his voice more and for the first time (yes after 8 months ish) he didn't give me any push back on going. He and his more outgoing 3 year old sister can't get enough of this class. And make no mistake, this is not playtime at the zoo. This is the real deal. I knew Miss Ashley was serious about teaching gymnastics when the first exercise she started the group on was the rings. That was a jaw dropping moment for me. And the kids actually do it! I totally underestimated my own kids' abilities. Coach Ashley does a great job introducing proper gymnastics and proper form (tucked rolls, spider walks, hand stands, cartwheels) but does it in a way and with kid friendly verbiage that makes it fun for the kids. She has a lot of colorful and playful looking equipment that is appealing to children and the intimate sized group allows her to spend individualized attention on each child.
