While my son had a lot of fun, the staff didn't mention on the first day that signing up for a membership will incur an anual membership fee of $50 along with the tuition. So, when I came back to sign up, I was a bit disappointed and opted to just to pay the drop in price. works out to be $40 more per year, but no commitment. And with how quickly kids change... There is no where better than Tempest. My son who is on the spectrum attends classes and also summer camps. The instructors excel at educating the athleticism and artistry aspect of parkour. Every new skill is carefully taught and effort is made to make sure each child feels good about the progress they are making on that skill. The coaches are not only very talented but are very good educators on the art of parkour. Summer camp was just fantastic and was a week of fun, personal growth, encouragement and friendships. The showcase at the end of the camp was exceptional, each child got to showcase a variety of skills they learnt at camp week. The gym is undoubtedly the best. read more

This place is a blast! If you can't get your kid to stop playing video games this is the place for him to learn to do all the moves his video game character does but in real life. They have great staff who will help your kids progress safely and the facility is really amazing itself. Highly recommend classes, open gym, or birthday parties here! read more

My kids love to go there (15/12/8 years old). The staff is super nice and they let kids be kids (jumps, till, try stuff) They interact with them super simply by giving them pointers and if some rules need to be followed (it's better this way as you are kinda jumping high at times.) It saddens me to leave this review. My 7 and now 8 year-old neurodivergent son with autism, ADHD, and ODD found something he loved and looked forward to all week. He is often suicidal and this activity really motivates him. Sometimes he pushes students or pointed a finger at them. I saw much more often kids crowding and hitting him. I let it go as kids acting like kids and was thrilled to have an apportioning to model by neurotypical children. Unfortunately, too many Karen's complained about my so, although my husband or I were present at all practice. Apparently there was a regional meeting in Los Angeles where they have decided to kick him out. There are other children with autism and development disorders who can have their aides assist, but we were not given the opportunity. An 8 year old child with significant emotional issues was essentially fired. This doesn't paint your company in the best light. Tempest - this is your chance to learn and do better. Reach out to his parents and therapists and find a way to make your organization inclusive. He has climbed from multiple second story windows - I fair to understand how he has no talent in freerunning. Come out on the right side of history.Neurodivergence is not going away. You can train these athletes and mentor them, or you can do what everyone else does, throw them away and lock them in prisons. Shame on you Tempest. I really expected better read more

My son LOVES tempest. He's been coming here for about a year and a half, and has had 2 birthday parties here. It's awesome to see his strength increase (as well as his confidence) and his agility and balance grow. The coaches and staff are awesome with the kids. The classes are jam packed with cardio, technique and strength building, all while being fun. The little man even busted out a laché at the park the other day like it was nothing. In the midst of my shock and surprise, his response was, "what Mom, I do those all the time at tempest." This Mom is looking forward to watching his skill develop and his strength continue to grow. read more

Fun place! The actual instructors are excellent. My niece loves them and does seem to learn a lot when she participates. Management seems to be the complete opposite as of recent visits. Called ahead to plan a visit and the woman on the phone seemed bothered with my questions and said she did not know the gym hours. I was placed on hold before being hung up on unfortunately the customer service has gone downhill it seems. During our last trip there my wife asked to speak to the manager in regards to the incident, but was told he doesn't deal with the customers directly despite him being there. I am currently in the lobby at Tempest listening to Caleb speak to customers on the phone, check kids in and explain the procedures. He is wonderful. He really seems to care that the kids are having a great time and went out of his way to make my son feel comfortable. Keep up the great job Caleb! This gym is awesome! I am 37 years old. I exercise often but recently I've been getting bored with my standard gym/cardio routine. I wanted to incorporate a new form of exercising that would be fun and unique, and also improve my balance, coordination, and flexibility. I decided to give parkour a try. Being older, I felt a little embarassed, so I first went to a few of their "adult open gyms" just to acquaint myself and play around. I had a blast. The coaches were eager to show me some basics and answer questions. So recently I finally tried one of their actual adult classes. It was awesome! The skill levels (and ages) of everyone in the class widely varied but the coach, Richy, was able to quickly customize his instruction for each exercise to suit each individual's level. He was always encouraging and motivating everyone. He was great at explaining and simplifying each obstacle for me, without taking time away from the other students. He focuses a lot on technique which helps minimize the chances of injury. I pushed myself to do things I didnt think I could do. I felt safe and accomplished and excited. I cant remember a time ever being so sore the next day. It was great! Such an incredible workout and so much fun! Highly recommend! read more

I wish there was a "zero star" option, but since there is not i will begrudgingly leave 1 star. I brought my kids here to check out the place in May because my daughter loves American ninja warrior and we were looking for a birthday party venue. Coaches and management were amazing. I reserved the place for a December party date. (Yes i plan ahead). When i called a week ago to confirm details i was informed, by the rudest most condescending girl who answered the phone, that there was new owners/management and they would have to check to make sure they would still honor the agreement i had. I eventually hung up on the girl because it was either that or say things that i might end up regretting. I was assured i would hear from management the following day, the following day came and went. I called back two days later and was informed by the same rude condescending girl that she isn't in charge of the managers personal schedules and couldn't tell me when they might be in. It's now been about 6 days and i have heard nothing. I have since found another venue because i will not pay these people one single cent for anything. I can't imagine how the other people there would be to deal with but if the person answering the phone is any indication, i certainly want nothing to do with them. It's too bad too because they have some cool stuff to jump around on. Maybe they need to learn that customer service is important too. After seeing this review someone left a comment indicating that rude behavior isn't confined and wanting to speak with me about it. I have called 7 times today and it ALWAYs goes to voicemail. What a pathetic way to run a business. I really hope people think twice before patronizing this place. I wish i could take my 1 star away. read more

My son did a private session with Gavin, and he can't stop jumping off of stuff in the house. He has struggled with getting better and Gavin helped him progress much faster than had he only done the classes. The classes here are also great, and safe. My son and all of his friends love the open gym, and after seeing the trampolines here I will never take them to get air. This place is the best! read more

We recently celebrated our son's 10th birthday at Tempest-North County. The exceptional level of kindness and customer service was bar-none! From the moment of just browsing the location as a possible party location, to booking the party, and throughout the evening of our party, was all with welcomed attitudes and great customer service! I have received compliments from everyone who attended the party. Everyone who attended has expressed how their child couldn't stop talking about what a fun party it was. And these compliments are because of the staff and coaches who assisted for our son's party! The coaches especially took the time to plan courses, group activities, and games throughout the party. Me and my husband are enrolled in classes here and love the contagious positive energy and learning from the coaches and other students. We started as beginners, but everyone has made us feel welcome. A true family vibe where the front desk ladies (Jaz, Kaelin, Alicia) and the coaches truly care and love when we learn new stuff! This place is amazing! It's huge and is so fun! I came here as a chaperone to 8 kids and Coach Mike was friendly, encouraging and patient with the kids. I know I challenged some of my own fears while there (heights) with the help of Coach Mike. I didn't know what to expect but was blown away when I got there: there are several trampolines, several foam pits, bars, foam padding, and obstacles to navigate through. It looks like something out of Mine Craft. It's a great place to work out while having fun. The staff are really friendly, the place is bright and clean, and it's a lot of fun! read more

The staff at the front desk is extremely rude and made our time here terrible. As we walked in for open gym we sat at the benches they placed on the right hand side of the lobby, as normal people would. My two friends and I were just talking and playing games on our phone, waiting for the rest of our group to finish filling out their waivers. About ten minutes into our session inside the gym we were called out to talk to the woman at the front desk. She then accused my two friends and I of "taking pictures of her friend's ass" and making her feel uncomfortable as we were just sitting on the bench waiting to celebrate a birthday. I then offered her my phone to look through and we were very transparent with her. We told her to take our phones and check the cameras in the lobby to confirm that her rude and false accusations were completely wrong. The rest of the night was very awkward and they made us feel uncomfortable as if we did something wrong by sitting down where they placed us and making false accusations against us. This is the complete opposite of our character, as we are diligent students and dedicate hours and days to community outreach and treat others with the utmost respect. This ruined our fun night's celebration. I would not recommend going here and would recommend getting some new welcoming staff, as I have seen in many of the reviews below, that do not make you feel uncomfortable. read more
