There are strict policies that center around corporate demands for cost efficiency more than pt needs. Medicare is supposed to pay for pts to live out the end of thier life in a way that they deserve. But instead gentiva will take as much as they can and give the pt only what is absolutely necessary. The focus for the staff is now quantity of care much more than quality of care. A tight budget is maintained likely due lucrative yearly bonuses for management. Gentiva is a corporation that cares for thier bottom line more than the quality end of life care pts and families deserve. There is good reason why the branch lost half of their staff in just a few months. It is because of greed. I am writing this to make people aware before choosing this hospice as either a pt or for employment. I believe darkness should be exposed to light and honesty is always the best policy. Generosity and good pt care bring a good reputation which makes a business successful not strict policies and tight budgets, and lucrative bonuses. I would give a review of 1 if rating just the corporate policy makers and branch enforcers. I would review 5+ if only reviewing the wonderful field staff who are trying their best to make it work.

Ok...fine, can I get in later in the day. No, I can get an appt. in 23 days or I can drive 40 miles to another location and be seen at 7am tomorrow. Unfortunately, Ive had over 10 knees surgeries and very familiar with physical therapy (since I had to do PT each time) and the techniques that are used. I am a self-starter, over-achiever, and know it takes hard work it takes to get back to 100%. I do all my exercises daily, and even get annoyed when you see others not knowing what exercises to do (because aren't we supposed to be doing them daily at home?). With that said, I have only had a total of 4 sessions in the San Marcos location and I am done. I agree with the negative comments that others have posted. Office experience and front desk staff are not friendly or welcoming. My 3 out of my 4 visits, it was a party up front. Staff was chitchatting and cracking jokes which was off-putting as a new patient there. Another time one of them had her kids up front with her while she worked the desk. I understand that we need to make concessions sometimes, but kids shouldn't be sitting at the front desk. They should be in the break area, waiting area, anywhere that is not siting at the front desk as patient check in and disclose confidential information. Each time I walked in, I didn't know what to expect, but all of it was very unprofessional. Now for the therapists... I have never had a therapist "work" on my knees by just squeezing the sides on my knee. That is literally all she did. I asked about soft tissue work because that is the main reason I come in. I do all my exercises at home, I have gotten very far in my own, what I need is tissue and muscle work to help with the scar tissue and sore swollen muscles. In all million sessions of PT in the past, the therapist will spend 15 minutes in each body part (and yes, that is what they bill insurance too) for muscle/tissue work. And here, I even timed her, she spent LESS than 5 minutes total on both my knees. And to top it off, I saw what they billed my insurance, 15 minutes! What a joke! How can you bill insurance for 15 minutes of work when you didn't do that work? That is insurance fraud! Overall, very disappointed in this facility because I had high hopes for it since the location was perfect. Oh the other negative is that this place is upstairs. I have never been to a Physical Therapy place that is located on the second floor and the elevator doesn't work all the time! Being that I had 2 knee surgeries, how would they expect patients to go up if the elevator is not working? Just keep that in mind if you need PT for a lower extremity. I read another post that are going back to Spine and Sport, I have gone to them before too in a different area, maybe I go there too!

Niesa, a dedicated CNA on the second floor, was providing compassionate care and maintained her warm, bright smile despite the Covid outbreak. Jackie from housekeeping was bustling around, buffing the floors with dedicated energy. Although nursing homes face many struggles, facilities like these are vital--they offer essential care to those in need, especially here in North San Diego. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to their hardworking CNAs, whom I consider family, for their tireless efforts. I came in on a gurney and walked out two weeks later on my way to a normal life. The staff is incredible. They work you like it's Boot Camp, but one day of rehab is like a week on the outside. They said I was two months ahead of schedule and on top of that the food is pretty good fresh with a nice variety of greens and protein. The nurses and the nurses aids are all top drawer if you're unlucky enough to end up in a rehab facility it will change your luck if you end up here I highly recommend Palomar health rehab rehabilitation out of five stars.
