I called the Lijsl's President Mr. A. Maresco and he actually picked up his phone around 7pm Mother's day Sunday! I was caught off guard; talk about responsive (I was expecting to leave a message). I explained what happened and he was genuinely upset and took immediate action the next day. He advised that I contact my president of my town soccer club. The next day I did, but by that time my club president as well as the offending team's president was already notified by Mr. Maresco. I'm happy that he took this incident as serious and degrading as I did and made notifications immediately. At this time there has been no notification or resolve of the issue, but I'm very pleased that LIJSL intervened so promptly and I now know that LIJSL are who they say they are. Nick Sanders took us on a tour, explained the facilities, costs, etc. I am overwhelmed by the place & concerned I won't fit-in nor learn he equipment. Nick spoke extensively with me about how common this emotion is for both women & men! He counseled me to take 1 step at a time and understand this was an important lifestyle decision. She is currently a high school senior balancing final exams, end-of-year sports commitments, concerts, and other school obligations she has committed to through graduation. Throughout communication with the manager she would be reporting to, she provided the days and times she was available based on her school schedule and activities. However, no specific onboarding or training dates were clearly communicated upfront, such as mandatory dates for the team. After a misunderstanding regarding "next week" versus the week after Memorial Day -- when she actually has days off from school -- she received a message stating that more availability was expected from her. Shortly after, he informed her that he would have to let her go because of this. What was also concerning was the expectation of ongoing text communication during the school day. In New York, students are not permitted to be using their phones during school hours, yet she felt pressured to respond. Students and parents should be aware of this lack of communication and understanding when dealing with high school applicants. Clear onboarding expectations and schedules should be communicated upfront, especially when hiring students who are still actively in school. A little professionalism and respect for academics would have gone a long way here.

My son has been playing with shooting Stars Sports for almost 4 years and every coach is kind, courteous, patient and caring for each child. As great as those qualities are, they teach kids in a way that encourages teamwork, respect and love for sports. Coach Mike, coach Chuck, Coach Sean, Coach Margaret and Coach Brenda have all been great but Coach Maddy has always been my son's favorite. She truly teaches kids the skills they should know and makes the love playing at the same time. Truly wonderful. Ask about their parties also, had my sons 7th birthday a week ago and he already asked to have the same party again, he had an absolute blast and is still talking about it.

Cory once again delivered magnificently. 3 weeks later - June 5th, 2021 - Capitol City World Outdoor Racquetball Championship, Herndon, Virginia - won the gold in the Men's 3 Wall A Division Doubles. They brought music and items for games and helped us to have a really great time! It is EXHAUSTING running around in those balls. I took away a star because the balls kept losing air and needed to be refilled after games. The guys said they get new balls annually, so some of them were showing age I guess. We had a really good time, and it was a fun and different activity! Definitely worthwhile checking out with these guys!

Todays visit to the Community Center in Syosset Woodbury Park had an Hour long Holiday Magic…read morepresentation by the Silver Songbirds. ( see pix) For those who might be using a GPS be aware once entering the park to make aright turn and follow to the back parking lot where the Center is. The group was lead by Susan Lilli's - Conductor & Narrator. They sang a variety of holiday songs and did a few skits, also handing out candy canes to the audience. "Nancy" played the drum for " Little drummer boy". They ended with "Auld Lang Syne wishing the audience good holidays and Happy New Year. In the back there were a few snacks for the sharing. The building itself has some children's decor, a display of wall tiles and a little Christmas tree in the hall.
