The equipment (as stated) is modern and new, with neat touches like a solar panel cell phone charging station for adults. There is also a huge field and baseball diamond, and a pavilion with benches and a grill. My daughter loved it so much, she refused to leave. Which means a 5 star review even if it means exhaustion for the parent! As a bonus, there is an ice cream park that will stop by in the afternoon. I don't know the exact schedule but both times we visited they showed up.

The entrance was easy to spot from the street and there was plenty of parking. I noticed one of those solar phone chargers, a playground, and a big field. A bunch of kids were playing soccer. I spotted a pavilion with one long bench... that's why I settled to eat my food. It was quite relaxing -- and the food is a story for another time. The park seems a good size for a neighborhood park, but I didn't take too much time to walk around since I had just planned to leave after I ate. It was pretty chill, and I will definitely return if I'm in the area and the weather is nice.

They are very well maintained. Also the community garden is a nice touch. A lot of youth and adult groups host events here. Parking is definitely available. Most from the area are familiar with it, and where it is, but to non locals it can be confusing to find. One problem though, is people come here at night to drink beers. I don't particularly find that appropriate at a park, especially one with kids and others going here. Yet that does happen, and I hope our public safety folks will charge all found here.

I can't say enough good things about our experience. From the cleanliness to the limitless energy of our host Coach Nick. He kept the children entertained and moving for hours while all the adults had to do was sit back and relax. On a surprisingly warm November Wednesday my granddaughter had awoken from her nap less than an…read morehour earlier and we needed park time before it got dark outside. I don't like how early it gets dark just after Halloween and we are told to set our clocks back on hour. I picked out this park less than 2 miles from my house so we could enjoy some fresh air & play time in the last few minutes of daylight. I'd been here one other time with her. It was almost dinner time & the park was very peaceful with just a handful of people running, hiking, walking and sitting on a bench listening to a podcast or music on their headphones. It is beautiful here with woodlands on 3 sides and a large open area with a soccer field visible just over a ridge. This play area is bigger than the one at nearby Wells park which is a favorite of ours. There are swings for children of all sizes including adults like me that are still children inside. She is days away from being 3 years old and this is one of her favorite things to do! Being such a bold and great climber she also spent time climbing up the walls on the multiple jungle Jim's here. One of which is quite a high climb. She didn't try the one that jets outward at a slight angle though. The ground here is mulch covered to cushion any possible falls. And if your a slide fan there's a good assortment of them here from short & straight to long and curvy. Older kids can hang on the monkey bars. My granddaughter asked me to lift her up to grab onto them. There is a steering wheel on one platform. We pretended to be driving to the store. There are some cool things here I've never seen at any other parks like a little elevator thing that moves down with a child's weight, climbing webs and ropes, a globe shaped chair that spins, musical bells...and a basketball court with hopscotch right next to the playground. There are close bathrooms which is a huge plus! We went on a very cold and windy day and stayed for an hour despite the temperatures - the kids were having that much fun! The only negative is that it's right next to the county animal shelter, which gives us the willies when we remember how nasty they were to us when we wanted to adopt a dog...but that's a review for another day :)

This little suburban oasis is squeezed between several roadways, but it's a remarkably versatile…read morebit of open space. There's an athletic complex, several ball fields, two picnic pavilions, a large soccer field, basketball and tennis courts. Howard County parks & rec didn't fall into the trap of an overpaved "activities-only" park. Because there's also an extensive area of small ponds & wetlands with a restored streambed, some nature signage, and a surprising amount of native wildlife for such a modest park (including a few beavers!). My favorite is that you can get in a decent 2+ mile walk around the outside perimeter (all well-paved). It's also easy to walk into the park from the surrounding neighborhoods, or the adjacent park-and-ride lot. It's not the kind of park that's gonna have me coming from a distance, but for my neighborhood park, it's a gem.

The one star reviews are more about leagues and ill-advice on equipment…read more Turf 18 requires turf shoes with conical studs, and a soccer complex should not be confused for a soccer league. Pros: 1. Plentiful amount of fields, and not just weed or sand pits, actual grass/turf that is clearly cared for. 2. Ease of access, there's plenty of accessible parking and more than a generous amount of general parking lots, bathrooms, AEDs, field markers, and a thunder horn for when the weather gets dangerous. 3. Not too far from the highway, so getting here shouldn't be too much of an issue. 4. Plenty of natural shade/open space for children to play, and for the adults to run, bike and enjoy some soccer. Cons: 1. Some Not-so-friendly spectator areas, you may be settled on a hill or right in the beams of the sun. But at that point, you're asking for too much anyway. The players get nice fields and the coaches a clear technical area, the spectators should settle 2. If you're playing at a grass field, definitely make sure to bring a change of socks, the well maintained grass will get into your cleats. 3. Only one athletic trainer to go around some 20 fields, but this would be a bit nitpicky anyway. Definitely look at their field map on the SoccerPlex website before heading out, pinning the adjacent parking lot on your GPS will save your neck. This is a well designed complex and I wish my local soccer fields had turfs like the ones in this complex. Cheers!
