Our experience was great! I emailed Installationpro the specifics of the job with some photos and they got back to me within a couple of hours with a quote and scheduling info. I had an exterior facing door with a major problem. Every time it rained, the bottom of the door…read morejambs (door frame sides) would absorb water. Over time, the wood started rotting and paint started peeling off. With El Niño approaching, I wanted to get this fixed. I spent several weeks researching handymen and door repair specialists. Most people I contacted wanted to completely replace both the door frame and the door itself which was quite costly. Additionally, my door and the upper jambs were still in great condition, and I didn't want to be wasteful by throwing those away. One person told me that this sort of repair was too difficult and didn't want to take it on. Ivan responded that he had fixed similar issues before and quoted me a reasonable price. Ivan arrived on time and got right to work. Something that I really appreciated was he took the time to explain step by step what he was going to do. The end result looked fantastic. He was able to replace the bottom jams, paint, and seal everything to the point where it looked like there had never been any damage in the first place. We had rain a week after the repair was done and my door jambs were bone dry the entire time. One thing I do want to note is that Ivan does have a a team that works under him. If you want Ivan specifically, you will need to request him but know that you might need to wait a little longer because he is very popular. I don't foresee having any more door issues since he did such a great job but if I ever do, I will definitely contact Ivan again.

Bill is a true craftsman! I've had a wood gate that has needed rebuilding for the last 8 years…read more Pieces of the wood gate were rotting. Over the years, I've had other handymen pass on the project. I had a handyman who was able to fill the rotted areas with wood filler, sand it, and restain it. I've even had a gate company tell me that they could not save the gate; it would need to be completely replaced. Bill was able to cut out the rotted pieces of wood, replace them, and restain the whole gate (he also repainted the decorative hardware on the door as well). Moreover, he discussed the project with a buddy of his and they determined that the gate was sitting over a muddy part of landscaping which is probably what facilitated the deterioration of the wood. We found some leftover pavers in our storage shed and Bill extended the pavers so the gate would sit over pavers instead of mud. Before he embarked on the wood gate repair, Bill also installed a valance/shade over a window. He made the necessary calculations to ensure that the valance/shade would be centered on the wall and window. He also made sure that the valence was leveled. Bill is honest, meticulous and detail-oriented. If you want someone to treat your project and your home, like it's his own, I would give Bill a call.

The Good: Hank is a good guy and he works hard. Does a good job on things within his capacity…read more The Bad: He is NOT well versed in Tesla Wall Chargers. He can install it onto the wall but made wrong assessment s of the gauge of the wiring when all he needed to do was turn the dial to adjust the mode. He doesn't like to read the instructions even on items that he doesn't fully comprehend. Therefore, I would avoid using him on the electrical side. The Ugly: Hank is impulsive. I understood he is an older gentleman and it's hot in the garage but he kept dropping profanity like skittles even when the kids are closer by. Additionally he acts before he thinks. He ripped open the Tesla Wall Charger box before he even agreed to install it so return became impossible. Then he proceeded to "renegotiate" the cost of install because he had installed one earlier but took it off deeming the charger and wiring to not work when it was his lack of knowledge to change the settings. He kept flipping between getting paid by the job and getting paid by the effort spent. I ended up paying him for the lift that was complete at his "job minimum," which was higher than his original and renegotiated quote for that job, but did not pay for the rest of the job not done. This was not a pleasant experience. Bottomline, Hank installed the storage lift well so I was pretty happy with that. He is a good installer and a good man who seems to have a lot going on. However, the constant renegotiation, miscommunication, attitude, and lack of expertise made this a rough experience. Overall 2/5 for effort, but I would not recommend his services.
