We didn't notice the oil-free menu until after we ordered, but we kept it lighter by getting the spicy aioli on the side for the sushi bowl and the banh mi. The sushi bowl was great; so fresh and flavorful; light but still satisfying. We got the banh mi on whole wheat bread and really loved this healthy interpretation of a banh mi. The baked tofu is great. We also enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger with the homemade (oil-free!) patty. Would've been nice if it came with a side of their baked fries. We also loved the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Soo pumpkin-y! The owners were so helpful and knowledgeable and truly care about making food that's healthy and still tastes great. We didn't have the chance to try the items in the grab and go fridge, but everything looked great, from their legendary sushi to oil-free chickpea salad to an Italian sub (made with seitan from Secret Vegan Kitchen). It was a little bit messy, so I'm glad that they did that. The sandwich was bomb and definitely had a spicy kick that I was looking for. It was very savory even with the sweetness of the pineapple sauce. The reason for the two stars was that I found two long thin hairs in the wrap. One was luckily at the base of the wrap and easy to spot/remove and the other was in the beans & rice section and as I was pulling the wrap away from my bite... eek! I pulled it out and tossed it and continued to nosh. I was so hungry I didn't mind, but any other day it might have been totally offensive and off-putting. I recommend using hairnets to anyone who handles the food there, given that two of not my own hairs were trapped in the wrap and between the wrapping and the wrap. My food order came with a side option of Ms. Vickie's flavored potato chips (I got the sea salt and vinegar, which I saved as a snack for later), a banana, or an apple (they had granny smiths today 07/03/2024). I will definitely go back and give it another try, but I really hope they do something to contain peoples' hair from entering into the foodstuffs. Happy eats!
