I really did not notice the time. I looked up to see a girl stomp towards me hands on hips stared at me and state angrily - "We are closed and I would like to go home." I said Ok fine I did not hear any "we are closing announcement" . I will be leaving". "Yes Now. - We are closed " she said. I said " yes, I am - You do not have to be rude." "Good - and I am not being rude LADY " she said as she stormed away. I quickly put my few items through the self check out. I noted the time as I finished- exactly 10:01 - they close at 10. I saw Rick? and asked him if he could tell me who the girl was that just went by with the metal framed glasses and brown hair. "Kim" he said, "why?" I replied "because she was extremely rude just now. Is she a manager?" - Rick said "No- I am " ( I know he said Kim was her name - but am not 100% positive that his nametag said was, - in hindsight, since he walked away from me pretty quickly.) So I proceeded to quickly summarize what happened- he started to walk towards the outside door as I explained my interaction- and he then replied ....as he (with a sweeping hand movement)- ushered me to the OUT door- "I will make sure I write her up - that's not what we are about here" - and quickly walked away as I said ...."I am just not used to this place being that way- people are usual quite nice." ( but as I said that the door closed and he was walking away.) Not a good experience . And I am not someone who writes up bad reviews lightly or ever really... but I expect for the money we spend here, and the amount of competition for my business that is available in Medicine Hat- that consistent, kind staff interaction should be the norm. Tonight was certainly NOT the case. - A clear "We will be closing in 5 minutes" - and a pleasant reminder would be usual - when it's not even 5 min past closing. Also an apologetic and much more empathetic response regarding the abrasive manner - being completely unacceptable - would also go a long way as to assuage a customer who has just been made to feel both unwelcome and demeaned. My wife and I went to the Medicine Hat location this morning for vegetables and fruit. There were 3…read morebags of oranges; each had rotten product. There were NO green vegetables in the spray coolers. On our previous visit there were boxes scattered in every aisle making it difficult to actually get to the shelves to pick up what we needed. When we spoke to the lady at the Customer Service desk we were told that there was only one employee at work. We will not be returning; fresh vegetables, un-rotten fruit and navigable aisles are pretty basic items in a grocery store, Superstore is definitely not super! Dennis L. Krahn
