We arrived here en route home having enjoyed the ice cream from here several days ago as we headed…read morewest on the first leg of our vacation. At the time, the place struck me as a local favourite and reminded me a bit of the much loved Bridge Drive Inn back home in Winnipeg. They offered a variety of flavoured soft ice cream, hard ice cream, shakes, signature sundaes and such. My kids excitedly made their selections and I was happy to see that I would be able to savour one last taste of the Island Farms salted caramel that I had discovered in Victoria. Sadly, it was not meant to be! You see as it turns out we only had a five left in our wallet. My husband pulled out a credit card only to discover that like our BDI in Winnipeg, this place did not accept credit cards. They inform us that there is a bank machine conveniently located just behind the stand. However that's when my husband discovers that his bank card had gone missing and silly me, I had not taken mine along on the trip. Based on our previous experience, the dejected expressions on the faces of my children and my own level of disappointment as we drove off minus the much anticipated ice cream, I am awarding this establishment 4 stars. After all it's not their fault that my husband and I did not have our act together that day!
