We often stop here on our way between home near Calgary and family near Swift Current, SK. A few…read moredays earlier I had fallen face down, coming out looking like a possible abused wife. My arm was also in a sling. To that point, no one had made eye contact with me; everyone chose to ignore what was actually quite conspicuous. I was temporarily alone with a young female employee who immediately approached slightly, made eye contact, and asked the non-verbal question we should all be asking, "Are you OK?" KUDO'S to that employee!! I gave a quick explanation and thanked her profusely for her observation, compassion, and willingness to get involved! Thank you, Miss, and thank you, Coop!

It had a restaurant going with half decent food, clean washrooms and a pretty efficient turn around time. Now? Well, now the restaurant is closed, the pumps could use updating, the washrooms have doors with no locks on them and it feels as though it's just not making enough money to clean itself up a little. Maybe it's got a new owner who's like that landlord who just doesn't see the value in fixing your broken screen door. At any rate, the employees are still friendly, the convenience store part is still well stocked, but if it weren't for Shell still accepting Airmiles, I'd be stopping in elsewhere down the road.

With all the automatic pumps around I can either a) only buy $100…read moreworth of gas by paying at the pump or b) pre-pay by trying to guess how much it will take to fill the tank. It seems like forever since I've been able to pull up, fill the tank, and walk in to pay. Would have been 5 stars if they didn't take the devices off the nozzle to hold the trigger in for you. I hate having to hold it the entire time. You end up with a hand that smells like gas for the rest of the day (not to mention the unnecessary benzine exposure).
