If you like landmarks and interesting art piece, this place is not to be missed. The Soaring Teapot is located at the Camellia Square, a small shopping center in the busy interaction of Las Tunas and Rosemead. I don't blame you if you get easily attracted to it while driving along that said intersection and decide to park to have a closer look. Who wouldn't? It's really very interesting to see this giant teapot which looks like it's floating in the air while pouring gushing "tea" in the cup underneath it. It got the best curiosity out of me so I moved myself so close to it and inspect carefully what's the secret behind it being suspended in the air. Spoiler: there's a big pipe hidden in the center of the gushing water which I believe enables the water to circulation from the pot to the cup to the base of the fountain.

This historical landmark is right in front of The Dive SKC restaurant. It is between Las Tunas/Rosemead. It is in the Camellia Square plaza, where there is Meet Fresh and Simmer Huang. It is a welcoming sign to City of Temple City I can't find much history about when or why it was created, but who cares. I am Asian and we like water fountain. The teapot is suspending in the sky with water pouring into a fountain. It is a magnificent sight. For Asians, water represent energy and this one has endless energy pouring into a sacred space. A fountain represents a sacred opening of tunnel, which is connecting to eternal self (ex: resurrection/new life).. This can be represent a religious or mystical experience As for me, all I can think of the "I am a Little Teapot" song When I get all steamed up Hear me shout "Tip me over and Pour me out!" I am a clever teapot Yes, It is true Here let me show you What I can do I can change my handle And my spout Just Tip me over and pour me out I know you are wondering, how is this suspending in the sky? I heard there is a fountain pump holding the teapot. Mystery solved. You are welcome This is a peaceful and tranquil water fountain. Come check it out. Super cool

I had done a search on Yelp for landmarks in Los Angeles and the Soaring Teapot popped up. I had to go see it in person. It's at the corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Las Tunas Drive in Temple City, California. The fountain is at the corner of a VERY busy plaza with a lot of Asian restaurants. After parking, I walked between two of the shops and came out to the corner. There's not much to it but it's a lot of fun looking at it. The pipe holding the pot in place and being the conduit for returning water to the teapot is quite a fun idea. Since it was Halloween, there was a mesh bag of phony heads hanging from the handle of the teapot. I'm sure it's decorated in different ways for different holidays. If you find yourself in the area, do stop. It's a fun thing! And, if you want to drive in a lot of traffic, go anyway from wherever you are!

CIO= Check it out! Cool yeah?

I only came here because of my Yelp buddy - "Da FAMOUS Auntie - Nadine C." had posted a few pics of this fountain called the - Soaring Teapot. After seeing the pics that Auntie posted, I quickly bookmark this page on Yelp as I told myself, should I ever be in L.A., and I'm near the area.......hell's bells I'm gonna stop by to take a look at this cool looking fountain! Sure enough I made it to L.A. recently, as I was here to attend the UCLA vs. University of Hawaii Football game. Lucky for me, the hotel I was staying at wasn't too far from this fountain. While I was looking at the fountain, I was thinking to myself ......"who is this engineering genius" who invented this fountain idea???? Lol! I thought it was just the coolest thing!!! If you wanna check out this cool fountain, it's located in Temple City, at the Camellia Square Shopping Center. Check 'em out gang! Coooooooool!

This is a cool landmark, located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Las Tunas Drive in Temple City's Camellia Square! It looks like a teapot suspended in midair with water pouring into a teacup and overflowing into a circular, illuminated pool! There is a plaque on the side of the fountain which wishes everyone prosperity, peace, and harmony! The teapot, in Chinese culture is a symbol of protection and blessings because in Chinese language it sounds like the word for teapot! May you enjoy prosperity, good health, good luck, success, and happiness always! Amen!

Hey look, it's a teapot suspended from midair! The water just flows from the teapot into the cup below. I've never seen anything like it in my life. It's a cool fountain. It's brownish red and has Chinese characters on it. Don't ask me what it says, because I can't read characters. I know, I'm a bad Chinese person. It's located at Camellia Square at Temple City. Thanks Auntie Nadine for bringing me here.

Located on the corner of the plaza off Las Tunas and Rosemead. Basically it's a huge teapot suspended in the air pouring out water. It's really a cool sight to see in person. I will need to go during the day to see more details. It really looks like the teapot is floating in the air no strings or anything holding it up

Fantastic fountain that is Temple City's latest landmark. I believe this was created around 2018. It's very cool and can be seen from the road or you can park and get a closer look.

We did purchase beverages today due to heat wave to stay hydrated. They gave those Coke machines that give you at least 100 options with a touchscreen. The recliner seats were very comfortable and due to the 1.5 hour run time, nobody had to sneak out for a restroom break. It was a nutty, completely bonkers film and yet internally consistent and thought provoking. Excellent music, acting, and directing. I guess partly because I had zero expectations, I laughed aloud multiple times and was thoroughly entertained. It's what I would call a surrealistic dramedy maybe? I'm a loyalty member and one of the perks is a voucher on your birthday to be used for refreshments. We went to the "secret movie" last night which was terrific. Because the voucher was only good for 30 days I wanted to use it before it expired which is 30 days after your birthday. My birthday is April 12 so we were well within that time frame. The bar code wouldn't scan. Odd because our tickets scanned as they always do with zero issues. The wait became uncomfortable after two employees were unable to scan it and called a manager who still couldn't scan it. The voucher was for $15 and I wish that they had decided early on to just go ahead and process it rather than making us stand there and wait which they eventually did. C'mon guys, don't make this birthday perk uncomfortable for the guest, fix your system.

It was the first ever grist mill constructed in the early 19th century California to serve Mission San Gabriel; and personally designed and supervised by Padre JM de Zalvidea. It's facility was powered by a waterwheel. Impressive!! Walking around The Old Mill you'll notice it has a fortress-like design with five ft thick brick walls surrounding the mill's 43,500+ sq ft grounds. It serve as a protection in the event of disturbances during that time. Moreover, throughout its history it was vandalized, foreclosed, sold and passed down to state/city, to prominent California families and a company. Blimey! At present time, the El Molino Viejo is a lovely museum and event space. I bet most LA locals were oblivious that this exist; who knew this historical landmark was right under my very nose. I spent 35 minutes and 30 seconds to visit and explore the entirety of the museum grounds. Street parking only. Admission is free. Hours are limited. Beverage is permitted in and around the museum. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and recommend you visit.

I've been an active member of the LA County arboretum for years and FINALLY got to explore the…read moreinterior of the Queen Anne cottage this holiday season (2025)! The inside is as beautiful as the outside and full of local history. The guides were thoroughly knowledgeable and enthusiastic in discussing the details as we meandered through the cottage - and I especially loved that they were dressed in Victorian era clothing! Elias Jackson Baldwin (aka Lucky Baldwin) was a very prominent figure in this area in the late 1800s. He owned over 13,000 acres here - land that included the present day cities of Arcadia, Monrovia, Sierra Madre, Pasadena and San Marino. I always enjoy hearing about history involving Lucky Baldwin because he still technically has an easement on our property and his name is on the title to our house haha! He built this cottage and coach barn in the late 1870s for his 4th wife but apparently they split up not long after they were married so he turned it into a memorial for his 3rd wife who had passed away (drama drama lol). It was then used as a guest house for visitors to the ranch. The cottage is quite opulent with ornate fireplaces, ceilings, and chandeliers, as well as some of the most intricate and colorful stained glass window pieces I've ever seen! I absolutely loved them! They are all original to the house - as well as all the beautiful tile accents in the floors and around the fireplaces. There's some original redwood paneling in the bathroom that you'll also find in the coach barn which is gorgeous and in excellent condition. Unfortunately, Baldwin's daughter who inherited the house after his passing, threw out all their furniture and belongings. So all the other items you see are not original to the house - but are still period appropriate antiques belonging to the era. I believe they do suggest children not do the tour as there are many fragile items in cramped spaces so be aware. The tours are pretty brief as you can only explore the downstairs rooms and there aren't that many - the receiving room/entryway, the music/entertainment room, a small hallway room, a bedroom, bathroom, and the library with butlers pantry. But still definitely worth a visit! The stained glass windows in the library have portraits of Shakespeare and Lord Byron in the glass - those alone are worth going on the tour if you ask me! Several movies and TV shows have been filmed in parts of the cottage as well (of course) - such as Fantasy Island (from the 70s) and even an episode of American Horror Story! The coach barn is always open during garden open hours, but the cottage has been closed as long as I've been visiting (over 5 years now). So when I saw the member email saying they were offering tours, I jumped on it lol! The tours aren't available very often from what I read. So far, they've only offered the tours on weekends during the holiday season starting in November this year and it looks like they are sold out online for the rest of the season. But when I visited, they were offering tickets for tours on site so you may still be able to tour. There are staff in a blue tent outside the cottage to ask when you arrive. Online tickets do include entry into the garden as well, which is worth exploring in its own right - would make for a great day out! If you're at all into Victorian era architecture and culture and the local history, I'd suggest signing up for the arboretum newsletter and keep an eye out for when they offer tours of the cottage.

Never once did I checked out the Queen Anne Cottage, Coach Barn, and Adobe until most recently. The cottage, barn, and adobe are located along side and/or around Baldwin Lake. Cottage was not open for tours at the time so I wasn't able to go inside. I admired its beauty from the outside and walked around its serene and calming perimeter. I did take a peek inside through its windows and snapped a few photos. Funny, I was actually hesitant to take photos of its inside... wasn't sure if an alarm was going to sound off LOL. Whew, no alarm! One thing I found peculiar is how small the bed is. It's not even the size of a full size bed... I think it's in between a twin and full size IMHO. Anyway, I read the cottage didn't even have a kitchen so the meals were prepared at the adobe. I walked around the abode, but didn't peek inside for some reason. I may have the courage to do so next time LOL. I also got a chance to walk inside and through the coach barn. Saw some displays of antique carriage and stuff. There were a few horse stalls. I didn't walk towards them for some reason. I guess the energy didn't call for it at the moment. Maybe I will next time. Be brave Linh! LOL Definitely, a lot of history surrounding the cottage, coach barn, and adobe. Upon arrival, the sky was almost dark so everything was perfectly spooky. My initial plan was to walk around the outside of the home & post the video on TikTok.
