She takes the time to listen to parents' concerns and requests, including those regarding curriculum and the needs of individual children. Ms. Stacey also brought that same level of care and dedication while she was there. Since she has been gone, I've really relied on Ms. Tina and Ms. Alicia. Ms. Alicia is also amazing, and together they have continued to provide the support, protection, and educational care that parents hope their children receive at school. Tina has always been professional, responsive, and thorough--especially when it comes to communication and documentation when needed. She has also offered genuine support and help whenever questions or situations arise, which means a lot as a parent. What stands out the most is that Tina truly cares about the children and the relationships she builds with families. She is kind, compassionate, and trustworthy--qualities that are incredibly important when someone is responsible for helping care for and guide our children during their school day. I've never had any difficulties with the Director Ms. Elizabeth or her assistants Ms. Shekina or Ms. Vashti. And my son LOVES Ms. Natasha and Ms. Michelle as well. I find that Childtime is reasonably priced in regards to daycare facilities. They offer a good summer camp program for VPK-aged kids, with lots of field trips and activities to keep the children engaged throughout the summertime. They also offer a VPK program to kids going into Kindergarten the following year, so you can register for (and use) the VPK coupon for a reduced rate on tuition here. They provide meals (breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks), and have an outside play area that is shaded by a big tree. They do fun activities on various holidays (Halloween, Xmas, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc). Also, I'm editing my initial review to add that I forgot to mention the updates they send daily via email. I'm not sure if they do this with all of the classes, or just the VPK class...but every day during the school year, if you sign up and give them your email, they send you updates every day on what they're doing and learning in the classroom. They send pictures and tell you which books they read, which songs they sang, what they ate for lunch & snack, whether they napped or not. etc etc. I think that's nice because sometimes it's hard to get my son to tell me what they did all day long, so these updates give me a nice little snapshot of their day. And I LOVE getting the adorable pictures that they send regularly. I've only ever had two issues with this center in the time that my son has been going here, both of them were minor. When each issue was brought up with the Director, Ms Elizabeth worked quickly and efficiently to get the issue resolved to our expectations. Snack time is "optional" (up to the teacher) and my daughter's class had the street sign "Galaxy Avenue" in the hallway pointing toward the classroom. So, in less than 2 weeks of my daughter being there, she had her hair pulled 3 times (by the same boy) and was intentionally kicked by a boy that was going down the slide too soon (right behind her). Now, I know these kind of things happen. Boys will be boys, right? The problem was that the teacher claimed to have seen none of this. No discipline was handed down to any of these kids after she was informed of their behavior either. My wife wrote a letter to the teacher explaining the situation (the letter has to be handed to an administrator as this is the only way that you can initiate contact with a teacher, by the way). The teacher called her over later that day to discuss it. In addition to the extreme defensiveness and bad attitude she displayed, she accused my daughter of "instigating" these situations. The same daughter that was very shy and intimidated by going to a new school AND that won a Character Education Award for best self control in her entire age group the year before! Sound like an "instigator" to you? She also made up a lie about my daughter handing another kid a pair of scissors and asked that she cut her hair (she has never had a haircut and is scared of getting one). So, we requested a sit down meeting. As we found out in short order at this meeting, there was no attempt to offer a solution to this issue as the teacher (and the 2 other administrators there) were only concerned about defending the teacher. No empathy whatsoever for the student, just "were right and you're wrong". We withdrew her after this meeting. They couldn't care less about disciplining bad behavior or admitting any kind of fault or expressing empathy toward the student. Stay away!

Today my 5 year old was told in front of classmates ; he couldn't get on the bus to his aftercare because he was suspended. I had no idea ; his teacher was kind enough to call me, I had to abruptly leave my work about 45 minutes away; stressed because he can't stay at school past 3 PM and knowing he must had felt so sad. When speaking with owner from the aftercare ; I was told that "they decided" my son was suspended for behavior and failed to advise me; so I could make arrangements in advance to get him home safely. After speaking with this school over the phone; I show up and am greeted with "please wait ; you can't go back there yet" (where my 2 year old is). Then she proceeded to give me a bag with my baby's belongings saying "Isaiah can't come back tomorrow either" It's Wednesday and I have no time to make arrangements for someone to watch him while I work tomorrow & Friday. This was clearly retaliation. I was scared at this point and felt very uncomfortable; I went back and had to say an emotional goodbye to my baby's amazing Angel of a teacher we were blessed to have for a short period. The director approached me to inform me if I had questions ; I could contact the owner. This was heartbreaking and humiliating. How can people be so cold; these are children. So sad. So unprofessional and dramatic. This could have been handled in a better way.

Now, I get glowing reports from her teachers and if there are tears at drop off, they don't last long because Ms Luz, Ms Inova and Ms Mayuly help to distract her and make her happy again. Ms Stephanie gives wonderful updates at the end of the day and lets me know if there is anything I should be concerned of (changes in feeding habits or diaper issues). I went in one day to pick her up early and was pleasantly surprised to find her hugging Ms Luz on the playground singing and talking happily with her. Ms Luz also redoes her hair (much better than I do) basically every day. My older one warmed up a lot faster and he has matured a lot since being there. He shares better at home with his sister and he is using the potty now!! Ms Kathleen, Ms Sonia and Ms Amber at the front are warm, caring people who take the time to help out with any administrative questions or kid related ones. They know their students and parents and don't make me feel like "just another mom" dropping off and picking up. I was nervous about starting my kids at daycare since we always had family caring for them before, but I truly feel like this is a family oriented center.
