The class was upstairs and was instructed by one of the staff members. It is an easy process and we were able to mix as many scents as we wanted. I feel like two is a good number since it could be overpowering with a lot of smells going on. I chose the sugar cookie and the coconut scents. You can use whatever colors dye to make it the color of the candle. It takes a couple hours to cure, so there's plenty to do in downtown Savannah while you wait. I mentioned about getting complimentary mimosas since it was included in the price of the candle making through the website. It was informed to us that the City of Savannah came by the night before at closing time and was ordered they could not honor the complimentary drink packages. The store didn't mention it when we first walked in and we had to ask about it. The least they could have done was issued a partial credit or refund. The staff members informed me the information was in the process being taken off the website. $45 for a candle without the drinks is way too much for a candle. The process of making it was fun and there is a lot of photo opportunities. Even though it was something fun to do, I was surprised on how the situation was handled.

What a cool spot!…read more While strolling around Savannah, my family and I took a moment to sit and I noticed the Mess Hall signage. Their branding stuck out so much amongst the traditional southern branding on the other stores, I had to see what they were talking about in there. Their signs said that they were a DIY trucker hat bar and although I can't comfortably fit hats over my big hair, I wanted to see what they had. When I stepped in, I knew I quickly became a new fan. It was adorable in there!! Being a girly girl who loves color and whimsy, Mess Hall was just that. There were colorful patches, buttons and so much more displayed around the store. Beyond trucker hats, guests can also make custom notebooks and tote bags. I was tempted to make a tote bag but didn't think I had the time to really dedicate like I wanted to. I do happen to love cute patches and collect them for my family in hopes of customizing some things for us in the future. So I snagged a few at $5 each and can't wait to use them. There were so many other items in the store that I had my eyes on, I definitely need to go back. And my young Black sister at the front was so sweet - give her a raise!
