A Real Soap Opera Nightmare! -- I chose this cleaners/laundromat for location and convenience (2 mins from my house). This was my second time using this particular cleaners.
I dropped off a queen size comforter early in the morning. I asked if the price was still $20 and "Renee" said yes. I told her that I would pick up the comforter in the evening.
Fast forward-- I enter the cleaners approximately 6:30pm. I see two women sitting near the window conversing with each other. I turned my attention towards them because the conversation appeared tense and called attention to them.
One older woman arose and asked if she could help me. I told her I was there to pick up my comforter, she asked the name and I told her.
She grabs it down, and it looks and smells beautiful, she says, "$25 dollars." I indicated that a woman earlier in the morning had quoted me $20. It was obviously that the ticket had been modified.
At this point, things go down hill. She says, "What woman?" I said a brown haired woman quoted me that price. I asked how many people worked there she said three people. I said well the woman was here this morning and quoted me $20. I told her I specifically asked.
"Patricia" says, "I don't know what she quoted you..." as if I was lying. She also said she "wasn't gonna pay $5" for me. I asked if she could get "Renee" on the phone to which she replied, "No, I'm not calling her for you." When I asked why, it was because she was having "personal family medical" issues. She kept using hand motions and saying, "I'm not gonna argue with you!"
"Patricia" told me to pay or leave and threatened to "call the law," to which I replied, "please do." I actually started to call dispatch myself, but then "Patricia" miraculously got "Renee" on the phone (which she tossed on the comforter at me) who confirmed that she did indeed misquote me. The ticket was altered without any notification.
"Renee" apologized, and said she "forgot" about the increase and out of habit told me "yes." She mentioned the increase was due to an increase in their own power and electricity bills. While I understood, the verbal agreement had been made and I was not notified of any change prior to picking up my comforter. She honored it, but the damage was done.
I don't know what the third woman's name is. She kept chiming in during my unpleasant conversation with "Patricia." I walked to a nearby store to get cash for my comforter, and returned to see her standing outside with her phone. She appeared to be taking pictures.
I put the money on the counter and grabbed my comforter and "Patricia" said in a snide tone, "Have a good day," while she was conversing on the phone (presumably with "Renee" due to the context of words) about how she, "just couldn't get her to leave, and she was sorry."
The comforter was beautifully done. I will never return, "Patricia" made this experience so unpleasant and awful, that I would rather drive 30 minutes to drop my comforter off than deal with her. Professionalism went out the window and she got real backwoodsy on me real quick. I was respectful, until she started to get rude and then my tone changed. read more
