Rooted Birth - New Owner Tori Scholze

Rooted Birth

I used Rooted Birth for postpartum doula services, and I highly recommend them. First, Rooted has a…read morevariety of doulas who are approved by Carrot. So, if you have Carrot or Maven as a benefit from your employer and you are looking for birth or postpartum doula, look no further than Rooted because they have many doulas you can interview and consider. Second, their office manager Yoly is incredibly helpful and responsive. She always answered my emails quickly and thoroughly. It is clear that her goal is to ensure that moms are supported. You can go to Yoly for any problem or issue, and she resolves them very efficiently and effectively. Third, my doulas Gabrielle and Mercedes were incredible! Gabrielle was my night doula for 8 weeks, and I cannot say enough good things about her. Because of Gabrielle, my breastfeeding journey has been easy and enjoyable (I exclusively pumped with my first)! Not only does she have the knowledge and experience but she has instincts to help you successfully breastfeed. I can honestly say that out of all the lactation consultants that I have seen in both my pregnancies, Gabrielle is the absolute best! Specifically, Gabrielle was able to help with positioning and latching, and she taught me how to use a haaka so that I could catch milk without having to pump. To date, I have not pumped, and yet, I have so much frozen milk thanks to Gabrielle's insight and assistance. She is also just wonderful and a bright light to any household she joins. She supports you during this vulnerable time and really sets you up for success as a mom. I was very sad to say goodbye to Gabrielle, and I know that any family who welcomes her into their home will be in great hands. Mercedes provided me with day and postpartum services. Although I was only able to work with her for 3 weeks, she is so wonderful and has been such an integral reason for my smooth recovery! Her passion is postpartum nutrition, and she is extremely knowledgeable about this topic. If nutrition is your focus when looking for a postpartum doula, then you should work with Mercedes! She knows all the delicious foods to support you in your healing and breastmilk production. I can personally attest that her lactation cookies are delicious! Mercedes also went above and beyond during all of her shifts. She cares for all her moms and babies, and you feel that she is just an extension of your family. I can go on and on about Gabrielle and Mercedes. Because of them, my husband and I were able to enjoy this postpartum period, and I will be forever grateful for everything that they have done.

Doctor Farrer is a jerk. He refuses to help when you need information to not lose your job. Said he…read morewas too busy to fill out my FMLA form. He was shallow and got rude. Would never return to this hospital be cause of his LACK of empathy and sympathy. Made me feel like he really couldn't care less about my health and my work. This hospital is over filled and you wait two days for a room and chances are if you go to the ER you are not in a room you're in the hallway. Whole experience was the worst ever.

6/4/24 This hospital is horrible, I had get get pre op labs…read moretests done, and they took forever to get called to the back. Literally over 2 hrs. Then, the nurse (guy) forgets the paperwork 2 or 3 times. He was running around like a chicken without a head. Very unorganized.  Also, He wasn't very nice. There was no concern on my condition or empathy what so ever on how i felt. I was sweating profusely because of the pain I was in.  I mean, I was in excruciating pain. My foot needs to be elevated, and it wasn't. There was no where to rest my foot comfortably. The seat they have are extremely uncomfortable. I was literally tossing and turning, just trying to get some type of relief on my ankle. Just so I wasn't in so much pain. Nothing I did helped. Absolutely no one , not a single person (staff) asked if I was ok. Some of the patients that were waiting asked if i was ok. They were more concerned about me than the actual people that work there were. And let me tell you about the pickup and drop off area. It's a joke. Apparently, there is suppose to be valet. I don't think I saw them at all. When my wife attempted to drop me off, we got stuck in traffic right in frontof the hospital. The Valet people are not managing the area. It should be for active loading and unloading only. They are not suppose to be waiting there for 20+ minutes or keep a vehicle there for hrs unattended. The same thing happened when she picked me up. She got stuck in the pickup and drop-off area (roundabout). It's just ridiculous and poor management. If you don't want to get stuck, go to the end where handicap parking is, and it will be a lot faster. I promise or take your chances. It up to you.  Good luck, people. Stay healthy, so you don't have to come here June 5th, surgery day. Everything went well. Still had to wait in the wait area for a few hours even though I had a 9:30 am appointment. The doctor's office schedules me at 9:30 am. I didn't get to go to the back until like 12:30 pm. 3 hrs of waiting in excruciating pain pretty much made up my mind on this review. I was almost tempted to lay on the floor and put my leg up on a chair. The only thing that kept me from doing that was that the floor was extremely dirty. Laying down with my foot elevated is the only position that brains some kind of relief to my broken ankle. They still only get a one-star because of the waiting. The pain I was in played the deciding factor on making my decision. The incompetence of the nurse's assistant that lost/forgot my paperwork. Twice or 3 times was also a big factor. But, to be fair, I will say that once I got to the back, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, the physicians assistant, the nurses in recovery, the actual Dr, We're actually awsome. I have no complaints about none of them. They were very nice, attentive, and professional and made me feel like they cared about how I was feeling at that point. Top notch service. It is to bad that a few bad apples or, in this case, bad experiences , Played the major factors of my decision. If I was just to evaluate and review just the team (staff) that took part in my operation procedure, I would give them 5 stars. If it wasn't for the long wait time, the intense and excruciating pain, I was in and experienced and the $#!+ show with the valet/puckup/dropff area, they would have gotten a better score. P.s If some stuff sounds a little off it's because I'm a little under the influence of Fentanyl. I am literally just out of surgery.
