I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I love this place so much. When I lived in…read moreVictoria, I would come here all the time, but since I've moved to Vancouver, I've only been here once in the last 5-6 months. Buuuut, I finally got to come back here this past weekend and it was like coming home. It had the same comfort-style breakfast foods and the quality was exactly the same, maybe even better (although I could have been biased since I missed this place so much). I usually stick to my usual traditional breakfasts (sausage, egg, bacon, check!), however, whenever I came to Urban Cup, I was trying something different. Whether it's their breakfast or lunch menu, you can't really go wrong. They have a soup + sandwich special that changes daily, and every time it's looked delicious! It's hard to pinpoint what my favourite dish is here. It might be a tie between their hashbrowns (home-style pan fried) or clam chowder. But like I said before, everything on this menu is delicious. What's really nice about UC is that you order and pay right when you walk in, seat yourselves, and the food gets brought out to you. So when you're finished you can take your time and leave whenever, without trying to get your server's attention to pay your bill. It's a bit of a hidden gem really, overshined by the more popular brunch spots like Jam and Blue Fox, but if you're looking to avoid the long lines, pay for a (cheap) amazing breakfast, and don't want to go downtown, then come here. You won't regret it.

Omgosh we love this spot! Super cute and local! Their coffee is fabulous and free refills. But the…read moreshow stopper is the food and the employees. Let's start with the people. They are all sooo NICE! And the food is freshly made everyday! The blueberry muffins are mind numbing good!! Loaded with berries! we shared a breakfast veggie sandwich and the hash brown potato wedges were also fantastic! They were crispy and nicely seasoned so they had tons of flavor. And their homemade hot sauce is like a wing sauce. Delicious!

So glad we decided to walk in on our recent trip to Victoria. We did not plan to be here but…read moreliterally every person walking on the street seemed to be walking in and we were like - let's go, check it out. This is right outside the Public Market and has plenty of street parking on and around the block. From the get go, amazing ambiance - bright, colorful infused with wooden interiors makes you take notice. A very innovative menu makes it hard to not try more than you planned on. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. We had the below items and can't wait to be back to try more on their menu. It seems they do refresh their menu quite a bit and the current menu is definitely bomb! 1. Hong Kong style Pork Sandwich - 12/10, amazing favors, very nicely done! 2. Savory Poptart - 10/10, light, flake, buttery, melt in the mouth 3. Mandarin Day Dream from their Signature Drinks - Drink of my dreams. I will dream of it until I can have it again and I hope they do not drop it from the menu until then. Such a innovative and well balanced drink - 20/10, must try!! We need you here in the U.S. Whoever is dishing out these creative menu items (signature drinks & the sandwiches) needs a raise!

Feels like coming home. We moved to the area from Kentucky…read morelast year, and have had a hard time connecting with people here during this pandemic. The atmosphere here is that of being welcome- regardless of anything. I experience real, authentic human connection here every time. The staff is of the nicest I've experienced, and every coffee I've had has been carefully made and of utmost quality. My kids absolutely love the trail cookies (which are made from scratch!) and I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to be able to have an array of treat choices made with clean ingredients and minimal processing. I have frequented many a coffee shop all over North America and none hold a "stick" to The Stick!

This company it's tucked away in a strip mall connected to several small art galleries and curio shops. Staff were very friendly menu was fairly simple but worth visiting. They offer a breakfast sandwich called an egg a majig that was delicious and hit the spot we also had one of their coconut chocolate cookies equally good. My wife had the Lotte she was happy with it I had a drip coffee called the swallow blend. I assume it is named after the ubiquitous swallows all along the coastline. This coffee was Unreal it is honestly the best cup of coffee I've had in Canada. I drink my coffee black with no sugar so I could taste it unadulterated. You're on vacation in Sooke for 2 weeks I will be going back to this coffee shop frequently and I will be taking some of the swallow blend home with me to Edmonton. The decor what is eclectic Surf Shop and there were plenty of locals having chinwag. Listening to them was highly entertaining there are some characters here. I would recommend this coffee shop to anyone in fact if I lived in Victoria on the weekend I might drive out to Sooke just to have a coffee and enjoy the fresh air.
