She offered to meet up at a coffee shop for a trial run, then proceeded to hand draw templates incorporating exactly what I wanted my wedding mehendi to look like. She incorporated portraits of me, my husband, our cat, and favorite animals like elephants and peacocks. Not only is she exceptionally detailed, she is so kind and generous with her time. Anita spent 2 hours during my mehendi trial, 6 hours during doing my mehendi at my house, then another 6 hours doing it for others. She did all this with such a joyful attitude and desire to share her gifts with others. Anita really takes pride in her work, which is evident from the way she makes her own henna cones from natural ingredients and offers multiple versions to avoid allergies. The kids loved her and Sarah was able to complete all of our attendees faces (~15in 2 hrs). All the kids lined up waiting their turns. Admittedly, i was only expecting like simple face paints. The faces painted all turned out to be full blown elaborate depictions (we had a hello kitty theme, and the kids actually came out looking like san rio characters). I was very pleased. Sarah completely exceeded my expectations. She was on time and flexible with the requests. Then she asked us if we could switch our event although she knows we are hiring her for a wedding. She does not communicate properly and excepts you to follow up. She will tell you she'll send replacement artists even though you are paying for her to be there. Scam. If you are having a wedding, take my advice and do not book her. She created a very stressful time for us. After this situation unfolded we heard from others who hired her that her attitude was unpleasant, rude and she rushes. All adds up. We ended up finding someone else who did a great job.You'll have better luck looking elsewhere.

Stepping out of My Comfort Zone This year I took a big step…read moreoutside of my comfort zone and signed up to do boudoir pictures. I've thought about it for years but never really had the opportunity. Last year, a friend of mine did it with Darci Admundson Photography and she recommended me to do it this year. So I went ahead and signed up to be one of her Boudoir Beauties. I was nervous about it, but with an open mind and a sick sense of humor, I managed to get through the photo shoot. I walked in to Darci's studio not sure what to expect. I sat down for makeup and hair, had a glass of wine, took a few deep breaths and relaxed. Darci was always professional, very open and really helped calm my nerves about the whole thing. I'm not much of a self conscious person, especially when it comes to people seeing me mostly naked (having kids will do that to you), but for some reason this one had my nerves rattled. Once we had the outfits picked out and got started, my nerves were gone. It was actually a lot of fun and I kept Darci on her toes with my random comments about underwear going up by butt. That had to be the most uncomfortable thing for me. But, it was temporary and the pictures were worth it. The next big step was actually seeing the pictures. I don't like pictures of myself (who does) but as I sat and watched these photos scroll across the big screen TV in her studio I was shocked at how beautiful they were. I couldn't believe that was ME in those pictures. It made me feel great to see how Darci captured a side of myself I thought I didn't have any more. I was sexy, I was sultry, I was even pretty darn gorgeous. The one thing I love about these pictures is they are so unlike many of the boudoir pictures you see from other photographers. Most of which are just glamour shots in lingerie. Darci is so talented in this art form. She is dedicated to helping women feel great about themselves, their sensuality, and empowering individuals through a wonderful experience.
