Service was terrible and the shop was open for over an hour and the donuts weren't ready apparently when they were just sitting in the back.

I hired Gimme Some Sweets in Sealy, TX for my wedding and wanted to share my experience for others…read moreconsidering booking. My agreement, based on our conversations and invoices, was for catering 125 guests. I paid a significant amount for this service. After I raised concerns following the event, I was told that although meat prices had increased, my original price would still be honored. This was not something that had been communicated to me prior to the event. During the event, we experienced issues with food availability and overall service that did not meet my expectations. After I raised these concerns, I was also told that additional food had been prepared beyond the agreed guest count. However, this was not something that was communicated to me prior to or during the event. I also brought up concerns regarding the drinks. I was told the situation would be "investigated," but I was not provided with any follow-up, clarification, or documentation addressing those concerns. While photos of the food and setup were shared, I did not receive any photos of the drinks related to the concerns I raised. I followed up via text on Monday evening requesting a fair resolution, but as of Wednesday I have not received a response. Overall, the communication after the event has left me with unanswered questions, and the experience did not align with what I believed I was paying for. I am still open to a resolution, and I recommend that anyone booking ensure all details--including quantities, beverages, and service expectations--are clearly outlined and confirmed in writing ahead of time.

And I was hoping that it was going to be portrait style and the rodeo age with the hat was going to take up majority of the cake, but it did not. It was not hand piped decorated. It was just that edible screen print. This is after I asked her to please rewrite some of the words because I couldn't even read them. I was kind of disappointed, but I picked it up the day off, so it was really nothing I can do about it. $55. The taste of the cake was good, But it was very dense. They had some delicious looking cookies in there, so maybe cookies is just their thing, but I would not order another cake from them.

Let me start by noting that this review is solely based off a 1 piece purchase while at the…read moreBluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill. I have only tried the blueberry lemon slice. It was $7 for a very large double decked slice. The icing is very good - wish it had a hint of Lemon yo accentuate the flavor profile. The cake itself is dry. I dont taste the lemon, i can see a few signs if lemon zest inside the cake. However, would suggest flavoring the icing to really bring out that lemon flavor and maybe even placing a few fresh blueberries on top. I do however really like that its fresh large blueberries. they are visible and plenty. Going to assume the dryness is just because they were premade and being a festival they had to be cut prior (assuming all prep would have to occur the few days before). Judging by the look im sure a fresh cut piece is much moister. The blueberries were very juicy though and plump, which did add some moisture back in. i'm going to assume the lady running the booth is the owner/Baker, she was super sweet and personable. Great personality! I saw the cake and I'm not usually a cake eater, but I said "there's cake over here" to my group and some guy walking past us said "it's really good cake!" which is what me just go try a piece.

The lady that helped us was very friendly and helpful. Old-fashioned great customer service. If you crave delicious cake, Wild Flour Bakery is worth the trip from Houston. We will definitely be back!

I usually call in our order when we are about 20 minutes away from our stop. Everytime I call in the order the person on the other end is friendly and repeats back what we order. The convenient store part of Hruska's has a lot of items that you can choose from to purchase and they have clean bathrooms which is a positive. When we get there we park, walk in and head to pick up our food at the counter. It's usually labeled with the ticket stapled to the bag. We then get in line to pay for our food. The line is usually backed up but moves fairly quickly. There is also a small area with tables and chairs that you can sit at and enjoy your meal or sit there if you need a rest. For my meal I usually order a Hamburger which comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. I usually get mine with mustard. Their burgers are so good and a good size. Overall Hruska's is a great stopping place while traveling. Whether it's for gas, a bathroom break, or if you want to grab something to eat this is a one stop shop place.

Arguably one of the greatest foods ever invented. Atleast in my world. How can you go wrong with bread filled with sweet or savory fillings? Hruska's is about halfway between Houston and Austin and a perfect rest stop to fill up on gas, use the clean facilities, grab a snack or indulge in their amazing baked goods. They are steeped in history and have been around for decades passing along the family recipes. It's obviously improved structurally over the years from a country store and looks like a modern gas station now. It's always pretty busy every time I have stopped in, but they are a well oiled machine and keep the masses moving with excellent customer service. They have all your gas station essentials like snacks and beverages. What sets them apart is their bakery. Here, they label their kolaches as the traditional fruit filled variety. I like them, but they are never my first choice. I love the ones with meat inside. Here, they label these as pigs in a blanket. They have a large variety of both. I usually go for a regular sausage and cheese, but over here, they sell a delicious pan sausage kind. On top of all their sweet and savory baked goods, they also sell burgers on the grill. Their burgers have made it to the Texas Monthly Top 50 burger spots. I have yet to try it. Overall, this is an always stop place for me. I highly recommend stopping here to stretch your legs and enjoy a delicious pastry while you're at it. I will definitely be back.
