Got the pandan and Thai iced tea flavors with condensed milk - soooo good. It tasted just like the…read morereal thing (ok maybe the pandan flavor was a little muted). But I think they used real Thai iced tea leaves to make it cuz there were little flakes that none of the other flavors had. My bf got satsuma and passion fruit. That was so tropical and citrus-y yum. And then I tried his sister's strawberry shortcake which tasted like the strawberry shortcake ice cream - delicious. The watermelon flavor also tasted just like watermelon. I loved how all the flavors didn't taste artificial at all. There's a line but it went pretty fast. You can see a lot of the photos inside from the 1950s to now - felt very old school.

Hansen's is a good, solid choice if you are looking for a sno-ball. They have been around for 86…read moreyears!! I like how they employ "the kids". Nostalgic to see, hard working summer jobs. You can not go to New Orleans without trying Hansens at least once. If you are local, its a really nice place to visit the evening of a hot day. I have tried the root beer, chocolate, cream of coconut, strawberry and spearmint. All have been tasty. For about $8-10 you can get a snow ball with a pineapple and cherry. For about $12-13 you can get marshmallow on top and I highly recommend this for the experience. Its typically a longer line but its part of the experience. When you go inside, its like a blast from the past. You are gonna have syrup all over the souvenir cup and all. They have many choices to choose from.

Chi-Chi's Chicken and Beer is somewhat of a misnomer. While the name is technically correct, they…read moreonly have about 5 beers or so and only 1 on tap. That's like calling my home "The House of Money" because you found some change in the couch cushions. I will say at least they have the GOAT of beers, Ghost in the Machine on bottle. I ordered 6 of the soy garlic wings and 6 of the Gochujang wings. The soy garlic was mild in flavor and I'm not talking spice, think more like subtle. The Gochujang were full of flavor. Sweet, Spicy, Savory.....delicious! The wings were like a fancy, well-aged bottle of high proof bourbon, complex and layered. That may seem like a strange comparison, but it works for me. I also got a free order of shoestring french fries since it was happy hour. They were nice and crisp. Chi-Chi's is very small. 4-6 seats at the bar and only a few tables. I assume they cater more to the takeout crowd. The servers were really friendly, and everything came out fast and hot. The wings were a little pricy in my opinion, but I would get the Gochujang wings again but only if it's happy hour. Also just change the name to Chi Chi's Chicken.

I really hope this place was having an off day, because otherwise it's a Whitewashed hate crime…read moreagainst the food of my people. The chicken was soggy and the breading was doughy and heavy without any of the signature crunch that you expect from Korean Fried Chicken. Cucumber salad was unbalanced. Fries were surprisingly fine, but came out a solid 25 minutes before the chicken rather than being timed with the chicken. The flavors were one note and lacking any complexity or nuance. The place itself is extremely aesthetically pleasing. Service was fine. Soda is in a can. This place is another example of catering to frat boys and jumping on the appropriation of Korean culture being trendy without any real understanding or appreciation of culture or culinary techniques. Definitely skip and go all the way to Houston for actual Korean fried chicken.
