I told her I wasn't a fan of icees because I grew up in Hawaii, where we have shaved ice. I described how the ice was so soft that it's almost like powder snow and is even creamy with toppings. She told me I really needed a try a snowball because in all the years I've come to New Orleans to eat it's an item that the locals love and one of the things I have to cross off my imaginary bucket list. I reluctantly agreed and we went to the Warehouse district and pulled up to Hansen's. She explained how nostalgic it was and how many celebrities have had Hansens. To my surprise snowballs are as soft as shaved ice from Hawaii! I really loved how there are so many flavor combinations. I'm not crazy about artificial flavors and was so happy to see Earl Grey tea and lavender! Such a grown-up flavor combination and that's what I ordered! A small was already too big, but it was wonderful, especially on such a hot, Summer day! I'm so grateful to Stacye for taking me to this local institution!!

I explained that I did ask for condensed milk, and she responded by saying it would be $1.07. I had no problem paying the $1.07 - I just wanted what I asked for. Instead of simply adding it, she started hollering and speaking with an attitude. I understand businesses can get busy, but there is still a way to talk to customers respectfully. She was friendly and talkative as she prepared our snow cones. We would definitely go back. Now, as you are pulling in it looks as though the shop is inside the mall - nope! It is outside, across from Main Event with a convenient extra wide driveway. The shops were not busy, so hubs stayed parked there with the doggo while kids and I ran in.
